I haven't been to hot topic in a few years as a huge Harry Potter fan I loved their HP section it used to be a pretty good size. It has since unfortunately shrunk to 4 or 5 items which made me sad. I did find a pop socket wallet to buy. Figured it would be good since I was trying to shrink down on my wallet. Worst line management ever!! Most ridiculous I've seen and don't blame COVID tons of other business doing it right. If your going to have a return only line out side the store maybe you should put a return only sign up so one doesn't stand in the wrong line just to have to stand in another line. If only my whole day could be filled with standing in HOT TOPIC lines, because I had nothing better to do. Hot topics line management system 1) Have no signs with direction 2) 1 line to get into the store 3) 1 line for everything else with one cashier and iPad at kiosk across from the store. With no signs one must stand in the store line only to be told they must go stand in the kiosk line to return an item. Then if you want to actually go into the store to look around you must go back and stand in the line you were already waiting in then once you are ready to purchase an item, you must go back out and stand in the kiosk line. But not everyone because I did see someone get rung up in the store. So how do they choose who gets rung up in store and who has to stand back in line at the kiosk??? When I was little, I used to be afraid of going into Hot Topics because they always had such dim lighting, loud music, & intimidating-looking staff. This Hot Topic is nothing like that. This newly remodeled store is brighter, well-organized & clean. The employees are VERY helpful & willing to go the extra mile to help you find what you're looking for. The only reason I took off one star is because this store isn't very affordable, especially with the newer merch, so look out for sales, coupons & remember to sign up for the HT+ rewards card to save up those pts! Not gonna lie, I usually come here ONLY to look at the newest Hello Kitty or Harry Potter merch. Nerdy, I know. Recently, I came in looking for a Slytherin cardigan to wear to the midnight showing. At the time, they didn't have any in stock so 2 salesladies actually helped me order them online & have them sent straight to the store for pickup (which, they informed me, would be cheaper than having them shipped to my home). Even though the kiosks in the back of the store were glitchy & not working properly, they were still patient & friendly every step of the way & happy to assist me. One of them ended up just calling in my order, with the energy of Harry, Hermione & Ron on their mission to find & destroy all the Horcruxes. Hot topic is one of my favorite stores to get socks. They are super comfy and definitely cute. They have great deals too. There employees are super nice. It's an interesting store to go in and look. I usually get my socks there and no where else. If you like bands like guns in roses or queen or ad dc , they have band shirts and they are super cute. I made my first purchase at Hot Topic this past Halloween season, and I have to say that I now have an official seat on the "Hot Topic Sucks" bandwagon. I needed suspenders and a black tie for my Halloween costume and Hot Topic just happened to be a convenient store to purchase both of these items at. To start things off on a positive note, the items that I needed were incredibly easy to find. There was a stand right next to one of the cashiers that I spotted as soon as I entered the store. And now...On to the bad. All of the suspenders were on one stand with little information. Were they men's, women's, or unisex? Aside from design, was there any difference between them? Also, there wasn't any information about sizing...Nothing to say how long the suspenders were. They were all out of the solid black suspenders, so I picked up some black ones with skulls on them, and under the assumption that one size would adjust to fit all, I grabbed a skinny black tie and headed to the cashier. The guy working behind the register possibly could have been nice...Then again he possibly could have been a douche. I have no clue because I could not hear a single word that he said. It's not that the music in the store was too loud, it was just that he simply wasn't speaking loud enough to be heard over it. Even after having him repeat himself and moving in closer towards the cashier I still couldn't really make out what he was saying. It's definitely a problem when I'm two feet away from the guy and can't hear what he's saying...So not impressed with the staff. As I'm walking through the parking lot, a car full of dicks spot my bag and yell out the window "Hot Topic Sucks." I start to turn to yell back..."So does your mom" or "I yell shit while I'm driving away too" or something along those lines when I realize that I sort of have to agree with them on that point. There was nothing about my experience in the store that would lead me to believe that it doesn't suck. I get home and attempt to get the suspenders on...And it's a no go. At 5'10-5'11 and of pretty average build I am by no means a big guy, but these things would just not fit. After making them as big as I could and struggling for a little bit, I was finally able to get one side clipped. As I was moving around trying to get the other side secured, the first clip slips and I had just enough time to tilt my head out of the way as the end of the suspender hurtled towards my face. Not wanting to be defeated, I gave it another try and managed to get both sides securely clipped on...The only problem was that now I was halfway towards an atomic wedgie. The only problem I had with the tie is that one side of the tag on the back of the wider end ripped off during the process of tying it. While not a big deal, the simple fact that it came loose with the smallest of snags just lead to an overall sense of poor quality. All in all, I can't say that I was very happy with my trip to Hot Topic...This was my first time purchasing items from this store and it may just be my last as well. read more

I always make ALL my hot topic purchases at this location. Even when I order online I have all my orders delivered here . Today I came to pick up an online order and was helped by Chrystal . She was very friendly and informative . The whole staff here is always friendly and welcoming . Today I saw scabbers a Harry Potter character . I mentioned to Chrystal how I had never seen him before . After a quick chat I left with my order but had to come back for scabbers. I was once again helped by Chrystal and left with one more item for my Harry Potter collection . I shall continue to shop at this hot topic because their customer service is awesome ! read more

This place has lost its musical integrity. I looked to see if they might have an album I had been searching for. Unfortunately the only artists album being sold was that of Sleeping With Sirens. I usually come here often and seem to find it very energetic but on this particular day, it seemed as though they didn't have anyone helping around the store. I waited with my boyfriend for about 15 mins near the piercings to get some help and they're didn't seem to be any workers walking around. The store seemed empty and when we finally got someone, she kept insisting for my boyfriend to sign up for a thing they had. After he said no thank you. She continued and asked lots of questions such as why? And "well your here now" ... he continued to say no as he was getting frustrated and you could see she got an attitude and said " we get in trouble if we don't ask" ... but she had asked him more then twice when we were in a hurry just to leave. read more

I am really disappointed with the customer service. Damon, the shift manager, was unprofessional and downright rude. He lied to me about his position when asked if he was the store manager. He refused to help me with a return because i had lost my debit card that i had used to make the purchase.
