First let me say the sales clerk was incredibly nice and fun to deal with. She told us there were new owners and a transition was in place. a month ago I spent 359.00 on all the items we were told our pool needed to be up and running. they said they were out of almost all of it but the order would be in the next day. we were told we would get a call when the shipment arrived. a month later we have gone in and called and have not gotten anywhere. we have only received excuses and reasons why we need to call back later. this includes being left on hold for 30 minutes and counting (yes I'm on hold as I write this) my credit card company will be my next call to dispute this charge. read more

Edit: I originally left a 2 star review about my experience, openly acknowledging some things that were done right . The owner (not the salesman who helped me) responded, essentially calling me a liar. I wish I had walked away when it was first obvious I was being scammed. Instead they offered me stairs to make up for their mistake (i.e. obvious lies). I am not in the habit of engaging in Yelp wars. I think it is immature and a waste of energy, aside from counterproductive to the purpose of Yelp. Still , this company is so poorly managed and had such shady business practices that I was shocked by the rude and fictional response to my clear and accurate review. We ended up purchasing a hot tub from Spas of Oregon few days later. Much better price and honest service. We just purchased a hot tub from this company at the State fair. We signed a contract , set a date for install. It was an expensive hot tub, but seemed like a fair enough deal because they were going to cover the cost of electrical installation and a crane to move the hot tub into our backyard. We set a delivery day for the following Wed. I called to ask a question about permits... And they said they sold the floor model we had just purchased ! The salesman called a few minutes later and said they put the unit for the other buyer on backorder and we could still have ours. This was nice but put a bad taste in my mouth that they would sell the item we purchased within minutes. While the company generously agreed to pay for electrical and crane (both costly services ) we were responsible for scheduling the electrician. This is reasonable, of course , but they scheduled the crane & install before contacting the electrician. The electrician was booked several weeks out and could not come in the original timeframes. Even then , there was no guarantee we would get the permits (we are currently waiting about 6 weeks for a tree cutting permit). They made some really great accommodations that their competitors would not. At the end of the day, however , the plan was to leave us with a very expensive, very heavy, permanent item with no guarantee we would get permits. When we ended up buying our hot tub elsewhere, we realized that a lot of the "great deals" and "special services " were pretty standard. read more

I went in there to see if they sold the right PVC union to replace a leaky one and the lady working was incredibly nice. She and I looked through all kinds if spare parts until we found something similar and she only charged me for the new gaskets. I SO appreciate her genuine desire to help me out! DESPERATE to find a cure for this relentless calcium that was all over our 15k + gallon pool and the lack of chemicals ( we were actually over compensating with chlorine‍) we had Marty help us finally! SO thankful that he was so helpful and got our pool ready to swim and entertain just days before my nieces birthday party! I have about 1 year of trying to work with this company and my experience with Hot Stuff Pools and Spas has been terrible. It seems that the owners poor leadership and neglect for customer service trickles down and although some of the employees actually try and seem to give effort it seems to me they are limited by the owners guidance. After they replaced the old sand in my sand filter I started getting sand discharging from the jets in the pool that would gather on the bottom. Fast forward over 1 year to today, there is still sand gathering on the bottom and after various requests for them to remove the sand and check the inner workings, the staff and owner kept telling me I need to flush it down or that it is somehow my fault for not operating the pool correctly. I have done everything they have told me and did my best to be patient. The problem still exists and when I requested them to come out last week they told me they would do it and would charge me a service fee. After having spent thousands of dollars with them in this short period of time, I feel offended and disrespected that they offer zero support for something that is clearly their wrong doing. My take is that the problem never existed until they started working on it and that I feel they should correct it. They ultimately remain firm in telling me that it's my problem and they they will investigate and charge me more for it. I'm choosing to find a more professional company to give my money to, and can not express how terrible my experience has been, how much money I've wasted, and how much time I've spent trying to resolve the issue. If any one is looking for a Pool or Spa company. I recommend you look elsewhere. All these guys are really good for us selling you chemicals and taking your money; don't expect any professional advice and or support. To the owner, I recommend you look at customer service as a priority and the life line of your success in business. You don't need to be an expert in your industry but at least show your customers that you are trying and genuinely care about the service they are getting; a little effort goes a long ways. read more

Beware of these people. They are all smiles in the showroom, but after the sale, good luck. Rude, uncaring and no sense of responsibility I had them deliver a hot tub for my handicapped son and they set it up for him. I wasn't there to supervise. They were the experts and I mistakenly relied on them to know what they were doing. They plugged the tub into an extension cord and into a 15 amp outlet. The tub requires a 20 amp circuit and after running fine for a while it turned both the plug and cord into charred rubber. There response was we just did what we were told. They did not seem to have any sense of responsibility for the incident. We have had other problems and have had to call the manufacturer or go to google for answers. If your thinking about buying from these people, ask around. They are a head ache waiting to happen and there are other deals on hot tubs available in town. My advice is shop around and don't shop here. read more

It is February 12th, 2020, that is important. **as a side note, I am NOT from California, I am in Turner, Oregon** Back in mid November 2019 our hot tub began running non-stop and would not maintain 103 degrees. We called Hot stuff. They came out right away, and said we needed a new heater. Great! 2 weeks later, a new heater is installed and it STILL runs constantly and wont maintain temperature. a week later, I call again. Oh yeah, Liz said that the heater wasn't the only problem, says Cara. Great, was someone going to tell US?? Nope. Okay, so what do we need? If you order the complete unit, pump/heater from us, we will credit the cost of the heater. I refused to pay another service fee. Another 3 weeks later, they come out and install the unit. they leave me a note. The controller does not communicate with the new unit, you need an new controller, another $300 please. Oh Hell, no! Seriously?? You managed to get the service fee you said you would not charge me for screwing up the first time, and now you want me to pay you more to just throw parts at my problem?? We ordered our own controller. It gave us the EXACT SAME ERROR THAT THE OLD CONTROLLER GAVE HOT STUFF. YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT FIXED IT??? WE HELD DOWN A BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS TO RESET THE SYSTEM!! Hot Stuff``````` does not return phone calls, they do NO true diagnosis, they ignore problems, they overcharge for work that they KNOW is not right. If I could stop payment on the entire job I would do so! I will settle for warning anyone else who considers this company for work to stay far, far away. read more

I would give them zero stars but Yelp won't let me. Since the new owner(s) have taken over tho business, it is a complete joke. I have used Bot Stuff for all of my spa supplies and service for over 25 years. Recently called to have them replace the motor. Thar was first week of July. It's now Sept.5th, going on 2 months and it is still not fixed! First "service" guys came out, said they would email mea quote. After not hearing from them in a week, called the store. Was told "those guys don't work for us anymore", we'll send out someone. Next they replaced motor with single speed when it is a multi speed. Repair guy told my wife that it was because blower not working. Are you kidding me!?!? So they ordered a new motor, but repair guy shows up with new motor that is the same WRONG one. Called, left messages. No call backs. Was just at the store. Talked to Liz AGAIN. She said she would find out when the correct motor would be in and call me within 30 minutes. Well, it's been over an hour and no call back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE CLOWNS. I'm done with them. read more

The crew at Hot Stuff did a great job of describing the features of the spa we were interested in and comparisons to fit our needs. Then did a nice job of quickly getting our old tub out, the new one in and telling us the essentials to get our new Clearwater running and essential chemical care, filter care etc. Love the inner shell design and the 40 jets with adjustable pressure, digital programming etc. Best thing for making my lower back feel better that I've found yet. These guys are great! I've had tubs for 25 years and recently stopped in to pick up some chemicals and ask a few questions about my tub. They were straight forward and honest and even helped me install a new ozonator on my own. When I ran into troubles, they continued to walk me trough it and we finally realized there was a faulty valve that they ordered and installed in a few days. Very pleased with our purchase - the owner was very helpful and honest. The electrician was quick and did a great job - and was very nice. The electrician came the ext day after the tub was delivered. The electrical was free - part of the State Fair displays. We know that the electrical work is not cheap if we had to do it ourselves. The young man that I was seeking assistance from( believe his name was Austin or Alex) was so completely rude and had very little knowledge of any of the items on the floor. And frankly seemed to high to care. The older woman who has been there a long time was helpful, but no one on that store seemed to enjoy anything about their jobs anymore. Took my spa pack in for a new pump they said oh no problem they weren't busy to get right to it after almost 2 months and I told him I'm tired of waiting they give me my pump back installed a new pump and motor in my pack as well which was the wrong motor end it was also the wrong side discharge on the pump and it was wired incorrectly to match my pack I tried to explain to the tech they said no there's no way it can be wrong and what it is is what it is I'll try to get to it in a day or two but there will be a service call I asked her to hurry no response I had to get my money back from them and went elsewhere I do not recommend them at all thank you.... read more
