2.17.24 My hubby and I like trying new Asian food restaurants. We came here and it looked cute inside so we were hopeful. ;that faded fast) We ordered spring rolls, pho, and grilled pork vermicelli dish. First the spring rolls were small and the "grilled pork" was beyond dry. It was like no flavor jerky. I was hoping my vermicelli dish had better meat. (It did not-same exact dry, no flavor pork) Also this was the smallest vermicelli bowl I have ever had. Well let me tell you about my husband's pho. It was the saddest pho set up I have ever seen. 2 slices of jalapeño peppers, 5 small mint leaves and very few bean sprouts. Ridiculous. My hubby said the broth had no flavor either. The sign out front (& on Yelp) said they sell banh mi sandwiches. When we asked our waitress she said they are not selling them right now because the bread got too expensive. Overall-this visit was our first and last. When we leave a Vietnamese restaurant still hungry (even though you ate all your food) there is not a reason to return. read more

Who am I kidding? North Houston...Magnolia specifically, is NOT at all known for Vietnamese food! That being said, although I'm not an expert, I've visited this stop about 5 times now via a Yelp Elite's recommendation, and so far so good. Their Winter melon basil drink is delicious. If you're a texture person, this may not be for you but this aloe, sweet, and slight herbal, textural, drink is simply brilliant! Their banh mis are always pretty solid for the area. During my last visit I tried the filet mignon pho (beef noodle soup). I've tried a few others that I prefer, but bonus points for variety here...I think they even offer brisket noodle soup...when in Texas I suppose. I've only taken my orders to go, so I cannot speak to the dine in experience, but any spot that's tickling my tastebuds while sitting so close to a Brusters ice cream is worth a stop in imo! read more

Why 5 stars? Because this is a really great option in my neck of the woods. --- --- --- I had been stalking the opening of Hot Stone Bowl for months, every time I drove past it. And after long last, it finally opened. I planned on going in myself, but my wife was going to be driving right by it anyway, so she called in an order and brought it home. I ordered a pork banh mi and shaking beef with fried rice. Don't judge me for ordering two entrees, I played basketball that morning and had not consumed a single calorie until this arrived on my table. The banh mi was solid. Not on my Mount Rushmore of banh mi, but certainly not bad. The bread was the best part: it was pillowy soft. The shaking beef was awesome. I could absolutely eat this on a regular basis. High quality meat, perfectly seasoned. It also weirdly came with some fries that were pretty unforgettable, but the beef and rice was primo. With how close to the house this is, I'm sure we will be from time to time! read more

Pho /Brisket, grilled pork spring rolls @Vietnamese, I always test spring rolls. They serve with a sauce that I believe hoisin sauce base, sweet and light. I asked them if they have peanut sauce , they have almond sauce. Just ask them, it's delicious. Pho soup was delicious. Flavorful. I could smell fish sauce so maybe they drizzle on the top?! Not sure.. but some people may find it too much. Came with lots of briskets, very tender and thick. I wish they give me more bean sprouts and fresher toppings but understandable! I will be back! read more

I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the Beef Noodle Soup with chicken. I've tried a lot of pho places around here, and while they're usually good, there's almost always something a little off--maybe the veggies aren't fresh, or the service could be better. But this place checked every box! The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable, the food came out promptly, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-kept. The pho was exactly what I was craving, with a richly flavored broth and all the perfect toppings. The shrimp spring rolls were a 10/10--the shrimp was high-quality, the veggies super fresh, and the sauce was incredible. I hope this place stays around for a long time because I'm a big fan and will definitely be back! read more

Nothing special about this place other than it's cleanliness and ambiance. The inside is very spacious and modern. The food, on the other hand, was not awesome. The bread for the banh mi had little to no butter on it, and the pork lacked flavor. It needed more cilantro as well. The worst part... they charge $1 for sriracha sauce, which I personally find insane. read more

Hot Stone Bowl is a new Vietnamese restaurant, they have a very clean and open dining area, but the tables and chairs are too close to each other and not handicap accessible as far as sitting and getting around. My fiancé is legally blind and it was very hard to navigate the restaurant to get you the table they sat us at, it was impossible not to bump into other chairs. The menu is lacking on pho with no chicken not seafood options. We did order a custom pho ga, where they substituted the beef out for chicken, but they have no correctly made broth. The broth is heavy on fish sauce and salt with no automatic spice or flavor, it was nothing more then water with salt, fish sauce, about it. They had both chicken and beef in the bowl when the only requested meat was chicken. Their egg rolls were over cooked and not very tasty at all. They forgot the banh mi combination sandwich we ordered was completely forgotten about and we never got it. Finally, the amount of sauce you get for your pho is a joke. They give you a small sparkle of each in a cute little bowl, very little brand sprouts and only 1 lime slices with 2 small slices of jalapeños, The employees are nice though, but when paying for the food we ended up not eating at all, i had asked for a receipt which was printed but the lady at the counter walked away and didn't give it to me. So we just left. I do not recommend coming here, they are neither a Vietnamese sandwich shop nor a pho shop, plus they are not even using authentic ingredients. read more

This is a new place just outside of Del Webb on 1488. Very inviting with an open kitchen and plenty of seating. Staff greats you as you walk in and we were seated immediately. Portions were just a bit on the small size but flavor made up for that. The fao was rich and full of flavor. I loved the fresh spring rolls with pork and shrimp, the mint in them was perfect. The lack of a star was for service. Even though or waitress was friendly and pleasant she never came back around to refill drinks. Still an amazing place and you should try this one. Oh did I mention that the kitchen and dining area were spotless? read more

The inside of the restaurant is totally gorgeous- it felt like a really nice restaurant and the staff was super nice and attentive. The ambiance was great, they played joji too so that's a win. The food was also really great, the rice bowl came with soup which was super interesting; pork and pumpkin soup. It was very very good. A lady, presumably the owner came and talked to us and asked how the food was- she was super sweet, I hope I see her next time !! read more

Yesterday was my first and last time coming to this establishment. Unfortunately all due to the unprofessionalism of their waitress I'm still taken aback by the whole situation. Upon paying the bill and awaiting the change, I noticed a bug in my pho. It must have been there a while since it had not been moving my mother and I were in shock and agreed we'd mention it when our waitress returned. Which we did discreetly as to not make other customers uncomfortable by the circumstance. To which the waitress responded and I quote "Well what do you want me to do about it? Do you want me to pack it up to go or what? What do you want me to do" with the most rude idgaf attitude. We weren't looking for a free meal (hence we already paid) we just simply wanted to let them know so they were aware and honestly a genuine sorry would not have been that bad to add. But we were met with this terrible response. And we were not given the opportunity to discuss this with a manager or owner so this is why I'm writing this review to let the community know that this restaurant allows staff to treat their patrons like this. read more

Wow, disappointing as someone who goes to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants this one by far was the most tamed down, the bread was stale, the curry was watery and just a bad representation of what the food is like... the service on the other hand was stellar she was very attentive and was able to tell use what we should get; the vibe inside was very posh for the area a good place for a date if they improve their food quality. Hoping they do as the area needs more choices read more

Everything was so good. The broth in both were perfect. The sandwich bread was perfect and the pork was just amazing. Inside looks very nice and plenty of seats. Mainly 4 person tables but there are some for bigger groups. There's an open view of most the kitchen. Everyone is so friendly and checks on you and makes sure everything is just how you like it. I wish I had more room in my stomach because I wanted a little bit of everything! I cannot wait to come back. I'm so glad I have this close to home! read more

Saw this spot while going to a coffee social and had to stop in and get a Bahn MI sandwich! Customer service was top knotch she was so sweet and helpful with the menu. I also noticed that every time someone came in, they were quickly greeted and seated. Others also were really kind going over the menu with customers, so it wasn't just a one person thing. The young lady at the counter recommended the jasmine tea, and i really enjoyed it! My sandwich was AMAZING! The bread is nice and crispy on the outside, beef was tender and full of flavor, and those veggies were fresh and crisp! I always like to add fish sauce onto my sandwich, and it was perfection. I basically inhaled it!! I can't wait to come back and try other foods! read more

I really liked the food but they aren't kidding when they say HOT STONE BOWL. It came out nearly boiling hot. My son and I had to put it on a separate plate to eat off of. I had my 6yr old son with me and they were playing music with lots of f-bombs. I asked them to change it and they did so quickly. The ambiance is very trendy. I was nervous my son was going to spill on the cloth chairs but he was fine :) the spring rolls were delicious. read more

Great ambiance, great service, but although good, NOT traditional or original Viet food...

We went for an early dinner about 5:30 pm. The fried egg rolls and the shrimp and pork spring rolls were pretty good, but they need to give more sauce with them. We asked for extra sauce. The grilled pork sandwich was a good value for $5. I loved the bread that was light and crispy. My husband got the steamed rice with the grilled pork and he liked it. We both agreed that the grilled pork had a good lemongrass flavor. We will be back. read more

We had the privilege of trying out this restaurant in its first 2 weeks of opening. I am an avid fan of a good Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwich). It has been a LONG time since I have had one that tasted authentic with FRESH ingredients. I couldn't get enough!!! It was 5 stars for me... But all good things come to an end...it was good while it lasted. The restaurant started changing the quality of meat/protein (more fatty pieces of pork), charging the same amount for less food (in terms of portions) and then we stopped ordering the sandwiches and eventually stopped going all together. The "Vietnamese" menu is not as authentic as it looks to be. I had really high hopes for this place, truly did! read more

Omg! Can't believe they are not packed. Best freshest flavorful vietnamese around. Such a cute and comfortable singing room too.

We went and had the pho (filet mignon) and the place looks new and clean. Very cute decor. Everything was great from the staff to the cleanliness but the pho was outstanding! The broth was so good and flavorful the beef was tender! We also got the egg rolls and they were good as well, we all loved the sauce that came with them it was such a cute pink color!
