What a hidden gem in the heart of The Woodlands! We were looking for some comfort food on a rainy day and Ploy was super close to where we're staying. You never go wrong with a homemade curry to warm your soul up. We walked in right when they opened for dinner and we were greeted by the sweetest server. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but she was fantastic. She took great care of us and answered all of our questions with patience and care. She deserves the 5 stars alone. Now about the food. The portions were generous, the flavor and spices were perfect! I wish the curry was a little more creamy and less soupy but otherwise it overall deserves 5 stars. I like coming here for the appetizer buffet. The pad kee mao has been a staple of mine here for years. It's very moist and delicious. The service and friendly and attentive. A hop skip and a jump from the Woodlands Mall, it's easy to relax into this peacefully decorated spot. It's more than the relaxing soundtrack, and quiet patrons, it's moreso the spaciousness, inviting service, stress free parking (bonus of a suburban restaurant), and the prospect of authentic cuisine in the area that's not categorized as "American" or "Modern American" (ie every popular Woodlands restaurant). On our visit, I was unfortunately distracted from my zen bubble as soon as our food arrived. Although the food was presented beautifully, myself and my guest immediately noticed the tables (ours included) sat too far away from the booth seats for comfort. I get it- usually this is a minor thing, but the distance was pretty drastic, so much so that it made eating a chore. I'm not sure if this is every diners experience (being that I'm 4'11" with the arm span of someone my stature), but is imagine it effects a majority of diners, and while I love a good workout, it's not exactly my idea of a relaxing meal. Other than that, the meal was fine, the curry was comforting, but I'm still in search of a Thai Food joint that will knock my socks off. All is forgiven with amazing food! Really nice out of the way Thai food in the woodlands! I really enjoyed the selection of foods which can either just consist of a small Buffet or you can include the buffet with a purchased plate. The restaurant was ready to go with all of the buffet Foods out. We were greeted and seated immediately and I had a really nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The meals are approximately $15 per person ( whether you order a plate of food which includes the buffet or just the buffet itself), which is a really great deal either way. The buffet consisted of basic sushi, tempura vegetables, Thai fresh spring rolls, soup and dessert . It's Not Top Notch sushi but it's basic fun sushi that you would expect at a buffet In my opinion your best bargain is to buy a plate of food which they offer many Thai meals which I was able to try and they were delicious! With those plates of food those include the buffet which is a slightly better deal than just the buffet by itself Overall, I recommend trying the Thai food here! Although ti didn't get a pic of the appetizer bar, I was able to snag one of the curry before devouring every last drop!!!! Their appetizer bar almost had me full but, no, I kept it classy and saved space for the curry!! Super happy I did. Deep, rich, body of flavors. Spice level II!! 10/10, would highly recommend! Staff was attentive and on point with every question I had about the menu and the bold flavors of the curry! Go during lunch! They have the appetizer bar as a freebie. So I have to admit I was a little skeptical because of some of the most recent reviews but let me tell you this may be one of those places where the reviews are kind of off. I really enjoyed everything. Service: the service was great, the waiter and waitress were extremely nice and welcoming. They greet you right away and make you feel at home. I was sat down right away and my order was taken. There was no waiting. They brought me my drinks right away. Service is definitely five stars. Food: I got the pad Thai and I have to admit it was pretty darn good. I got the launch pad Thai with beef and chicken level four spice and it was great. The color was a little different than my normal pad Thai but it was very good and full of flavor. It was spicy just right. They also have an open bar with sushi, soup, spring rolls, fried egg rolls, and even dessert. That is the first time ever seen that style a free appetizer. That's a pretty cool concept and I like it. The chicken satay was really good as well. The only reason I give them four stars instead of five stars is because anytime and establishment charges three dollars for a soda that's an automatic deduction of a star. No restaurant should ever charge three dollars for a can of soda water. If you were in the area ignore the reviews and give them a try. The place was packed when we visited during lunchtime on Friday. Service was friendly but chaotic - there were issues but were quickly addressed by the staff. You can order food with 5 levels of spiciness. Our server warned us that medium (3) was pretty spicy. She wasn't kidding. It's probably more like a 4 or 5 in other places. Other than the heat, the Pad Thai I ordered was pretty. Unfortunately, several pieces of chicken in our didn't taste fully cooked. I was so excited after the reviews I read, and I have never felt more deceived. The smell alone was enough to make me pause. I tried a piece of (pretty sure it's undercooked) chicken and a piece of tofu - gag. It smells and tastes like rotten fish. Never in my life have I ever had pad Thai like this. So this place is great for lunch! If you order a lunch dish than you get access to the appetizers/buffet bar which is fantastic. They had the Tom yum soup, salad, sushi, fried veggies, and more. All of it tasted fantastic. I ordered the ploys noodles which is a rice noodle dish with cook pork and peanuts. It resembled a Vietnamese dish more than a Thai dish in my opinion but it was still decent. I would definitely come back if I'm pretty hungry because you get pretty full from the buffet. I have only ever done takeout and this is my 100% go to place for Thai food. Yellow Curry? Delicious (tip: my boyfriend adds a little sugar to it when we get home), Green Curry? Herbaceously scrumptious. Red Curry? Slightly sweet, fragrant, and delicious. Panang Curry? This one has by far been my favorite and converted me from a green curry lover. Unique qualities about this restaurant is that they have an all you can eat appetizer bar! The bar has items like sushi rolls, breaded and fried vegetables, sweets, and some other small delectables. I like the hot and sour soup. It has a nice sour profile. They have soft spring rolls which are good (sidebar: what is called a spring roll is inconsistent. Some places call their fried rolls "spring rolls" but I feel the nature of "spring time" is best exhibited by the soft translucent rolls within which you can see carrot, lettuce, shrimp or tofu, and other makings). I'm luke-warm on the sauce used which was a somewhat peanutty mixed with some kind of red curry? This is an innovative idea and perhaps it'd work if it had more of a peanutty pow. So this sauce didn't check the boxes for me. I'd rather have the traditional, thick peanut sauce with my soft spring roll. Perhaps others would disagree. The restaurant is clean and cozy with lots of Thai look and feel and a pretty epic painting that's maybe 40 feet long on one wall. There is a wine bar here as well. Also, they offer an *all you can eat* sushi on Tuesdays during the hours of 2:30-8:30PM. That is definitely something I want to try. read more

I felt disappointed with what I got at this location. When someone invited me to lunch to say "Thai and Sushi buffet", it was unheard of to me how those two were combined. Therefore, I was initially excited to give this place a try. The appetizer buffet? Sure, it comes with the lunch. Already had a bad feeling when we wanted to order just fries for the child that was with our party, but for some reason that didn't seem to be an option. They advised we order the chicken tenders and fries for him instead, even though we knew he probably wouldn't finish. As for the appetizer buffet, it was mostly fried foods, sushi with large pieces of cucumber, and fish of questionable color. Then with the pad thai I ordered (which I normally love no matter which Thai place I go to), I was surprised to see it was with a very red sauce. It's something I never tasted before, nor did I enjoy. I believe it was a tomato-based sauce. I couldn't stomach finishing it because the flavor was so off from what I was expecting. This was supposed to be a quick lunch before going to the airport to head home, but I ended up feeling sick and not satisfied. Would've rather gone to a place specializing in Thai or Japanese versus trying to do too much. Won't be coming back here when I return to Texas. read more

We just found our new Thai restaurant! Lovely friendly attentive service, comfy booths, delicious Thai iced tea, fabulous tasty food, convenient, really nice decor...make it your place too! (Lunch has a buffet!) We had the sesame beef, tasty, the appetizer sampler plate which I recommend but caution because you will eat everything...chicken satay, cream cheese rolls, Shumai, and it comes with several dipping sauces. The waitress said no to go for the Buffett table during the lunch special so I said okay but when I asked for a to go box for my food not from the buffet table to give away (cause I personally didn't like it but maybe a homeless person will enjoy it). She said NO to go boxes at all. I'm like okay illl just leave it. It's a waste of food but okay. I went for lunch. Ordered the pad Thai. Taste like tomato sauce pad Thai which was weird.
