    Tubers salad with conk snails
    Lam D.

It was good best tasting thing was the salad. The grilled seafood was great when it was fresh and dipped in the fish sauce but once it cooled down, it was just all right. The fried rice seafood was also good and had the crunchy bits from the cooking as for the coconut snails it was a bit on the salty side and was not as sweet as I expected, but was still not too bad. The crab glass noodles were also good and on the lighter side in terms of flavor overall, all the food was great and I would come back. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was very pretty and bright. The seating also fairly spacious. I will say the restaurant is a little bit messy with some food and napkins from older customers underneath my table when I got seated. Overall everything was okay and I would bring my family back.

Why 4 stars? Because it's another solid option in the neighborhood. --- --- --- I was wanting to try this place anyway, and then I happened to come down with a lovely sinus infection, which meant my craving for pho went up about 100x. So I called in a pick-up order for the filet mignon pho like it was medicine from my local pharmacy. I thought the pho was good, not great. It didn't quite completely hit the spot in the way that I hoped, but I did enjoy it. To be honest, I have never ordered pho to go, so I didn't know it was customary to package everything up separately like it was: the broth was in its own container and a box contained the meat and all the fixins, all very neatly individually packaged. Maybe that's not customary? But I thought it was really nicely done. I also ordered the "Sweet Fried Vietnamese Banana" - I wasn't sure what it exactly was, but I enjoy all four of those words, so I was optimistic. It turns out that it's basically bananas, whip cream and vanilla ice cream. I had no idea that's what it was, but I loved it. I will absolutely order this during all future visits. I also happened to visit during Lunar New Year, and was told that I could pick an envelope. I didn't really know what to expect with this game that I've never played, but it turns out, there was a dollar bill inside. Later, the employees told me there was a hundred dollar bill hidden in one of the envelopes. I honestly know nothing about Lunar New Year, but that's pretty sweet! Welcome to Woodforest, Pho Saigon Oldie!

So we had an afternoon of meal prep planned and got the wild hair to go have Pho. We're so glad we followed that feeling. It led us straight to Pho Saigon Oldie. Service was great. The bartender went above and beyond to create an amazing Boba drink. Our waiter was awesome and answered questions about the menu etc. Our food was fast to come out. The portion sizes were huge. We got an opportunity to talk with our bartender and she was a sweet heart. I think Christina and I picked the right time. It's Sunday at 4:00pm. It's relatively low stress. I can't give less than 5 stars.

Best pho I've had since moving to Texas. The dumplings, fried won tons and spring rolls also delicious. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Oh my quest to try as many Vietnamese restaurants as I can while in Houston. I came across pho Saigon oldie. The food I had was pho with brisket, crab Rangoon, and Vietnamese iced coffee. Everything tasted so good, I enjoyed every bit of the pho. The broth was nice is beef flavored, bold and yummy. The crab rangoon was nice and crispy, not soggy or oily like some other places. However, the ice coffee was a little weak like the other place I had gone to, but still tasted good. The service was excellent and attentive and the ambiance was very Viet style. Had some nice Viet videos going on. All in all I'd definitely go back.

I definitely see why this is a favorite amongst the locals and my coworkers party. Patio seating gives a gorgeous view of the water or you can sit inside amongst the many tables and booths available. As for the food, they offer cajun-inspired eats and seafood options here, all of which are quite tasty. They have oysters available along with crawfish if you want to go that avenue. My girlfriend and I kept it simple starting with the stuffed mushrooms, comes with 7 mushrooms stuffed with crab in a butter sauce. Pretty tasty although most of the flavor comes from the sauce. As for entrees, she ordered the cajun pasta while I went with the cajun shrimp cobb salad. The pasta is quite large and rich which suited her. I enjoyed the salad which had all the fixings of a cobb salad; I would've preferred the egg be chopped up but I can't complain. We finished our meal with the bread pudding which was delicious and full of cinnamon and caramel. Apparantly it's their best-selling dessert and I can see why. I noticed they also have live music here on certain days and an expansive happy hour. While this spot is far from where we live, we're definitely open to coming back here to taste other items.

Soft, warm, and with a nice olive oil garlic, basalmic dip. Straight to the entrees - My wife had the Snapper special which was tasty but had a couple of snafus that likely cost the meal one if its stars. I had the Beef Ravioli Fra Diavalo. At many Italian restaurants the ravioli dishes are not a full entree for me, but they don't skimp at Nona's. These were tasty with the appropriately spicy Diavalo sauce. Excellent. My wife's snapper was supposed to come with an artichoke, white wine, lemon butter sauce along with some jumbo shrimp. The dish was delivered with a crab topping, and the server noticed when he brought it out and had to have the shrimp delivered separately. Not a big deal, but the crab topping was not properly picked through and contained several shell fragments that took a little bit from the dish. The shrimp, once delivered were excellent, as was most of the snapper dish. Our server, who I believe was named Lance was very personable and attentive, and that attentiveness was what alerted us to the incorrect accompaniments on the Snapper. I also would recommend that Nona's leave off the standard broccoli and corn side dishes, and let customers order from the side dish list. The complimentary sides are pretty bland.

They have a few cocktail concoctions; however, they only serve beer and wine so they're wine based. I looked over the menu which is reasonably priced and decided on the blackened catfish (1 filet) with onion rings and red beans and rice. You can choose 2 sauces so I picked tartar and remoulade. I also added an iced tea. Red beans and rice - very watery, should really have drained off most all the liquid before serving this. Good flavor though with plenty of andouille sausage in it. Onion rings - these are pretty good Catfish - this really hit the spot especially when dipping everything in the remoulade. Overall, I liked this place and will return to try other dishes.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later.
