I have had it bookmarked for a while now. I ordered some vegetable tempura. It was very good! I would order it again. I also ordered moo goo gai pan. It was...good - far from great. It had tons of mushrooms and only 2 snow peas in the whole dish. The waitress also was good but not great. She left our drinks empty, and shortly after we got our food she was asking if we needed to go boxes. We had only ate about 15% of our meals. While out running errands, we decided to try something new and different for lunch on a Saturday, and boy, oh boy...I'm glad we did! We were greeted and sat immediately. The inside is really nice. Elegant, I would even say. Our waitress was Eileen and she was great! We ordered the CD 8 Thai Curry with Chicken and the CD 11 Thai Basil with Chicken with yellow curry. Chinese and Japanese Fusion. This is an adorable cozy little place perfect for lunch! The dinner menu also looks wonderful. My friends and I enjoyed the bento box lunch special. We had one with steak, one with salmon and one with chicken. They come with soup or salad, a California roll, white or fried rice and egg roll. All of this plus tea and tip for less than $20. I ate here with a friend for a late lunch on 8/29/25. I had a salad and tempura shrimp. It was average in quality. Service was almost nonexistent. No offer to refill iced tea and dirty dishes were never removed from the table. No one came to check on us until they brought the bill, which was dropped quickly before we could even ask for a drink refill. The server did try to settle the check several times before we were finished eating. But never cleared the dishes or refilled iced tea. I even mentioned to my friend that the service was terrible. But that's not the worst part!!! My friend had a lava roll and within an hour of eating it she was throwing up and had to go to the er to be treated for food poisoning!! First of all if you're anywhere near Magnolia during lunch time this restaurant is a MUST TRY. Not only do they have great lunch specials, the ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and the food is pretty good for the price. The service was subpar, but there wasn't need for much as what we required was low maintenance. The steak was flavorful and tad bit over cooked as I told them I wanted it medium, the fried rice could have been more fresh and hot regardless it had great flavor. The best part about this place was its sushi rolls, the plains rolls in the box were amazing. We also had the shaggy dog which did not disappoint at all. They loved the tofu but weren't sure about the noodles (toddlers though, so consider that). My husband said it was really good. The fried veggie rolls are always a big hit. I love the veggie tempura but really wish it came with more for the price. It's always cooked well and comes out fresh. The soups are great. Miso is tasty, hot and sour is great, and egg drop is pretty decent too. We've always had decent service until this last time we went but they were busy, so I'm assuming it was hard to keep up for the servers. They spicy edamame are kinda sweet???not spicy??? Everything else is so freaking on point!!! My new faves are the walnut shrimp and the general tso's chicken, or get the phoenix and the dragon and you get both in one dish;) they are cooked to perfection. Crisp on the outside and perfectly moist not dry inside. Nice clean cuts of meat and yummy shrimp. I don't eat sushi so I can't recommend it but while we were there we noticed that a lot of people were coming in ordering it and it absolutely looked delicious so my thought is that it's probably pretty good. Everything that we have gotten has been delicious and we have returned on numerous occasions, and been pleased every time. No.... it's not a real fancy place but I really don't care about that because usually we're going out to grab a quick meal and it's close to my home so that's a plus for me. What I like too are the portion sizes. I don't feel like they're skimpy or that I'm not getting enough for my money so that's a 2nd+ ....again I highly recommend this place. read more
