    Pork and Shrimp Thit Nurong
    Brett N.

Why 4 stars? Because this was a quality meal that I finally experienced after far too long. --- --- --- I was in downtown Conroe months ago and discovered this spot while looking for a place to go for lunch. I didn't end up going, but I did bookmark it and have considered coming here approximately 4862 times since. The issue is that I rarely go east of 45 because there's not much that takes me that direction. So after staring at this place on my bookmarks for months, I finally made the decision to drive over here for lunch. I couldn't resist trying both a banh mi and the Pork and Shrimp Thit Nurong, as well as a Thai Tea, which was pretty solid. But as for the food: The banh mi was possibly the largest I've ever had. It looked and tasted as if it was made with high-quality ingredients. I would definitely order it again. As for the thit nurong, this was enjoyable too, but I would choose the banh mi if I could only order one. One pet peeve of mine is any dish with shrimp where they keep the tails on, which just creates such a mess when you have to grab the shrimp to pull them off. But that aside, the dish was certainly not bad. The service was incredibly friendly here and I was glad to see several other customers dining at a non-peak time. It's obvious to me why the rating is so high here and why I was so tempted to come visit for so long!

Some of the yummiest bun and pho we have ever had. The grilled chicken on the bun was so good.

It was fine the food fine egg rolls were fine but the place look like we were abandon

Pho and spring rolls are great!

Best pho I have ever had! Big portions and cheap. Nice environment and friendly. The old man running the place is very nice

This pho shop is also home to your friendly neighborhood "Survival Outlet Store," stocked with gas masks and sriracha bottles.

I stopped here as a pit stop on the way from Houston to Dallas for the 4.5 star rating, but after my experience, I have no idea why this place is rated so highly on Yelp. I've had lots of pho growing up in Houston and this was perhaps one of the worst bowls of them all. I really wanted to like this place because it was owned by a very friendly Vietnamese couple and was interestingly decorated (reminiscent of an Asian flower and furniture shop?). However, between the very long wait time for our food to my sad bowl of pho (the noodles were clumpy and there were only a few small pieces of tough meat) I just can't bring myself to rate this place over 2 stars. The food gets 1 star and it gets another because the owner was so nice. If we want to look on the bright side, there is free wifi and a "survival outlet store" in the corner of the restaurant if you ever want to stock up on sriracha sauce.

Pork Banh Mi - Huge and so tasty!

I loved it. Tasted like the sonic lemon cream slushie. I drank the whole thing and it was worth the money for sure. We shared a gyoza appetizer, and it was great. They were perfectly crispy on the bottom with soft texture on top. The sauce was a bit sweeter than a normal gyoza sauce, but it was pretty good, and one member of our party really liked it. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, and it was better quality than your average American ramen! The chashu was perfect with a slight crisp to it, the noodles were springy, and I enjoyed the addition of the bok choy. It was also the perfect amount of food. I'm actually sad this isn't in my local area. I had a great meal here and would highly recommend.

It does come with a sauce which helps, but I wish the chicken itself was also seasoned. As for entree I ordered the spare rib ramen. Again, the fried spare ribs lacked seasoning, but the fry was well done. The ramen was very light, almost too light in my opinion for a true ramen broth. The chili oil they have though is delicious and improved the taste of the soup a lot.

The chicken breast was a bit tough but the pho broth was decent so are the noodles and vegetables. The menu was quite broad and this was a first try. The service was laid back and on the slower pace. Restrooms need lil improvement. The flush was weak and the hand soap smelt strong, almost like laundry detergent. Ambiance was OK. The fried rice seafood was also good and had the crunchy bits from the cooking as for the coconut snails it was a bit on the salty side and was not as sweet as I expected, but was still not too bad. The crab glass noodles were also good and on the lighter side in terms of flavor overall, all the food was great and I would come back. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was very pretty and bright. The seating also fairly spacious. I will say the restaurant is a little bit messy with some food and napkins from older customers underneath my table when I got seated. Overall everything was okay and I would bring my family back.

The woman who took the order over the phone and at the pick up counter wasn't very personable. Seemed as if she was rushing around although the restaurant wasn't at all busy inside. Perhaps just having a bad night? We ordered Chicken Lo Mein, General Tao's, Honey Walnut Chicken, crab puffs, and spring rolls -- portions for dishes were fairly standard, all of which were just ok regarding flavor and texture. General Tso's lacked spice and the texture of the chicken was gristly. Lo Mein was average tasting. Honey Walnut Chicken actually had more spice than the General Tso's... but regardless, was pretty bland. The crab puffs had hardly any cream cheese filling, and the ends of the fried pieces were hard and chewy which was disappointing. How can you screw up a crab puff? The best thing we ate were the spring rolls which were light and crispy paired with the sweet and sour sauce. We wanted to like this place, however, there are far superior Chinese restaurants in the area. I doubt we will try again.
