Why 4 stars? Because this was a quality meal that I finally experienced after far too long. --- --- --- I was in downtown Conroe months ago and discovered this spot while looking for a place to go for lunch. I didn't end up going, but I did bookmark it and have considered coming here approximately 4862 times since. The issue is that I rarely go east of 45 because there's not much that takes me that direction. So after staring at this place on my bookmarks for months, I finally made the decision to drive over here for lunch. I couldn't resist trying both a banh mi and the Pork and Shrimp Thit Nurong, as well as a Thai Tea, which was pretty solid. But as for the food: The banh mi was possibly the largest I've ever had. It looked and tasted as if it was made with high-quality ingredients. I would definitely order it again. As for the thit nurong, this was enjoyable too, but I would choose the banh mi if I could only order one. One pet peeve of mine is any dish with shrimp where they keep the tails on, which just creates such a mess when you have to grab the shrimp to pull them off. But that aside, the dish was certainly not bad. The service was incredibly friendly here and I was glad to see several other customers dining at a non-peak time. It's obvious to me why the rating is so high here and why I was so tempted to come visit for so long! read more

Don't let the inside fool you this place is off the charts delicious!!!!! I used to eat the soup here several times a week for years and Every time I go back it tastes exactly the same. The owners pho recipe is the best I've had and I've tried it ll over Houston. The inside is not pretentious and to me is perfect for enjoying such a wonderful meal. Ask the owner for suggestions and you will have a wonderful experience. read more

The older couple running the shop are so sweet and right on time with a to go order. The pho was delicious and I'm normally not a pho type of girl! The broth had a great flavor and the hot sauce they packed was the perfect amount of heat to add. You get a good amount of noodles and beef so no complaint here! Can't wait to order again soon! read more

Good food. Very friendly server. However, it's not the "cleanest" place.... It's a locally owned small business and the pho is very good, however I am turned off by the lack of overall cleanliness of the place. I would definitely give it a higher rating if it was cleaner. The chairs are office type, rolling chairs. Nothing fancy or flashy here... There's not many places that offer Vietnamese food in the area and many people "rave" about this location. I've only visited 2x, and both times the service was exceptional and the pho delicious. read more

I stopped here as a pit stop on the way from Houston to Dallas for the 4.5 star rating, but after my experience, I have no idea why this place is rated so highly on Yelp. I've had lots of pho growing up in Houston and this was perhaps one of the worst bowls of them all. I really wanted to like this place because it was owned by a very friendly Vietnamese couple and was interestingly decorated (reminiscent of an Asian flower and furniture shop?). However, between the very long wait time for our food to my sad bowl of pho (the noodles were clumpy and there were only a few small pieces of tough meat) I just can't bring myself to rate this place over 2 stars. The food gets 1 star and it gets another because the owner was so nice. If we want to look on the bright side, there is free wifi and a "survival outlet store" in the corner of the restaurant if you ever want to stock up on sriracha sauce. read more

This is a mom and pop establishment that has a homey feel. The Vietnamese Egg Rolls are possibly the best I've ever eaten. The Phó was so delicious and served with all the extras you'd want to compliment this signature dish. The Rice Vermicelli with Chargrilled Shrimp and Pork was spot on. Wonderful flavors! It's out of the way... but worth the jaunt! read more

On the cold day there is nothing better. The husband runs the front of the house and the wife runs the back of the house. There is no other employees this is truly and family owned small business. Please support local. The PHO is amazing and the spring rolls are amazing. read more

I have been looking for a good banh mi sandwich since moving from Houston's international district to Conroe and I have tried several. To be honest I almost left when I first walked in. There's no music, florescent lights, and the place was completely empty at 7pm. HOWEVER, I loved my huge pork banh mi sandwich. The pork had an excellent smokey Asian BBQ flavor and the bread and veggies were very fresh. Their secret sauce was not what I expected, but man was it delicious. I will definitely be back. I am glad I didn't let the lack of ambience deter me from this mission. read more

This place took a nose dive on the list of weekday lunch spots for me. We stopped in for some pho and found a cockroach in the condiment tray! I immediately stood up and notified the server and owner, and then we left. They seemed surprised that I'd be upset about this. Unfortunately we will NEVER step foot in there again. read more

I have passed this place twice a day, every day and finally decided to stop in for lunch. The place is a mom and pop type place. I ordered a P1 Pho and a green tea. The green tea, i was told was semi sweet. To me it was sweet, but honestly really good. I drank a few cups of it. The Pho was good, not great, but good. I am used to a heavier flavor broth. I felt the noodle amount was a little small though. There was a a good portion of tendon (my favorite) and tripe. The well done brisket was a small amount as was the round steak. They make a special chili paste that was pretty tasty, i also asked for chili oil. It was a little different, more chili and less oil, but good. Overall, although it was more broth than anything else, it was still filling and tasty (average) and the tea really is good. It is my first Pho place in Conroe so all others will be judged by this one. If I find a better place for my tastes, you will know. read more

Honestly, this is the best pho I have had in years! Do not go into this establishment expecting glitz and glamour. Do go into this place expecting a very delicious home-cooked meal! The owners are delightful and make sure that when you get pho, to ask for their dragon sauce (if you like spicy). I've been under the weather these last few days and their chicken pho has been the cozy home-cooked meal I've needed for sure! Can't wait to try out more of their menu options soon! read more

The food and service here is beyond comparison. They don't just serve classic pho, they do it better! The sauces are unique and delicious and Imperial rolls beat any "egg rolls" we've ever had. My husband and I went to this place based on reviews here on Yelp and the Yelpers weren't wrong! We were pho virgins going in, so we had no idea what to expect. The server that we had was super-helpful for our first-time experience and helped us every step of the way, explaining what add-ins they provided and how best to eat/experience the pho. There were a good bit of vegetables and noodles. The vinegar fish sauce was refreshing and brought balance to the dish without being overwhelming. My wife had no complaints with the pho. She liked the broth and felt that the meat given in her bowl was overall reasonable. All in all if you're craving Vietnamese food in the woodlands area it will hit the spot. The dishes were overall reasonably priced.

The soup broth is very similar to their other location, which was pretty good. It isn't the best bowl of soup in the Houston area, but it surely does the job if you're craving a bowl of pho. The egg rolls are pretty standard, I just wish they gave you more lettuce as the amount provided only is enough for 2 of the 4 egg rolls. The shrimp cake is something I've never tried but just made with sheet tofu and shrimp paste. It's pretty good if you like that texture. You eat them the same way as the egg rolls wrapped in lettuce and add the veggies. Again, the amount of lettuce provided is only enough for 2 of the 4 cakes. If you're ordering the large because you want more meat and ingredients, you may be disappointed. I don't mind paying a little more when the quality and portions justify it, but at the current prices, I would expect the amount of meat to be more generous. We ordered Chicken Lo Mein, General Tao's, Honey Walnut Chicken, crab puffs, and spring rolls -- portions for dishes were fairly standard, all of which were just ok regarding flavor and texture. General Tso's lacked spice and the texture of the chicken was gristly. Lo Mein was average tasting. Honey Walnut Chicken actually had more spice than the General Tso's... but regardless, was pretty bland. The crab puffs had hardly any cream cheese filling, and the ends of the fried pieces were hard and chewy which was disappointing. How can you screw up a crab puff? The best thing we ate were the spring rolls which were light and crispy paired with the sweet and sour sauce. We wanted to like this place, however, there are far superior Chinese restaurants in the area. I doubt we will try again.

It was very easy to order and the cashier was so nice. The restaurant was clean and nice inside. I can't wait to try another dish from here.

They are running a comedy club in the upstairs, A bar upstairs and a restaurant downstairs. The food's okay less Tex-Mex now, more high end. I gotta say it isnt cheap eats, a lot of 40 dollar entres now. The drinks were okay again, probably a tad overpriced. Service was okay. The beer came in koozies that still said Willis, Texas. The sign over the bar, still said dock sidebar. But that WAS its charm. I would come to this restaurant for a special event like the comedy club, But it would not be Top of my list for a Mexican restaurant (or whatever it is now) in Conroe.

This place is a hidden gem. It may look run down but usually those are the places that taste the best and they did not disappoint. The pho had superb taste and they will even provide you with your own chili paste. The banh mi is honestly one of the best I've had, the meat was grilled on the spot and still had the smokey flavor. Both of the staff there were also very nice. Very unique flavors and is definitely worth to try out if you like authentic Vietnamese cuisine. read more

Pho is supposed to be rich, aromatic, and full of depth, but this one had almost no flavor at all. I even asked ahead of time if the soup would include cartilage, which is usually part of a proper pho, and was told yes, but it wasn't there. What really concerned me was finding fruit flies in the soup. That raised serious questions about cleanliness and food handling, especially if soups are being left uncovered. One thing that also stood out was that, although this is presented as a Vietnamese restaurant, the kitchen staff did not appear to be Vietnamese. While anyone can cook any cuisine, authenticity and attention to traditional flavors really matter, and based on the taste of the food, that authenticity seemed to be missing. When the bill came, I calmly explained everything, expecting at least some acknowledgment or effort to make it right, but nothing meaningful was done. Between the poor food quality, the cleanliness concerns, and the lack of response from staff, this was a very disappointing experience and I wouldn't return.
