Place was packed.I used to go there often before the renovations. Our server was a very nice lady,helpful and knowledgeable. I had a good time. The fish is fresh. Unfortunately they had no lobster,our waitress told us that it wasn't available that night but I'm sure it's because it is a very expansive item. I mean,the place isn't cheap and I believe they should have it every night. Other than that I was happy and left the restaurant full. On a night I was dying of hungrier I decided to try out Hot Pot 828. Like most AYCA (All You Can Eat) Hot Pot places in New York, per adult it is $19.99 (not including tax and tips)! The decoration is very compelling. Upon entrance there is the wings wallpaper that you can take a picture with and there is also a commercial photo booth in the front allows you to print out one picture per WeChat account. Don't get too excited because half print out is your chosen picture and other half is a commercial. Now the main main reason why everyone is crazy about this place of course would be the Rotating dishes(conveyor belt style) around your the table ! How fun is that to just sit around and grab whatever you want to throw into your hot pot. Now overall experience of my two visits at "A-OK" -The first time I was starving and half of the Group share Electric Hot Pot Stove was not working so everything cooked really slowly. Another problem was the soup was around 2 inch of soup and when I asked if they can add more soup. We were told that it will cook quicker so the soup base did not have much taste. We were seated closer to the front so the services was really great, No Complaint on that -The second time I came here was for Thanksgiving dinner. We had reservation for 9 PM and our whole group of 5 came earlier waiting to feast. After 9:15 PM, we were still not seated and instead we got skipped a group that had connections. This time my group was put to the back and they barely checked up on us. By 10:30 PM there was only 3 tables (including us) left in the whole restaurant and the workers also hot potted next time from us. When one of the waiter brought us our order and starts to put it on our table, one the waitress stopped him and told him in Mandarin "that is not theirs, it is ours bring it over here." The waiter was trying to tell her that it is our order and she already started putting our order on their table.The boss or manager came to apologize to us and scolded her which I find it a bit ridiculous not that I was mad or anything. Food Wise;The meat was fresh not bad, soup base is very light and not much taste which is a big down side for me. It is fun when you sit by the conveyor belt, you can grab whatever you want but don't get too excited and over grab. You will be charged if you waste a lot of fun. Keep calm it's hot pot season! I love hot pot. My kids loves hot pot. Everyone loves hot pot. Who doesn't? Who knew hot pot can be this fun?! A moving conveyor belt, not with sushi, but with plates of hot pot items! AYCE for a great low price ($19.99 a person). The belt is never empty and around and around comes the little portions of fishballs and other staples. Seafood and sliced meats (so fresh) needs to be ordered, however. I've tried at least 3 of their soup bases, all of which rich in flavor. My favorite? Tomato. Pots were constantly refilled and skimmed. Dessert wise not many options (only had watermelon the past times I've visited). The atmosphere is nice, lighting wasn't too dark. Decor looks trendy with a hint of British accents. Though, I felt cramped when it came to seating wise. No where to hang coats and bags, couldn't even do that behind my chair since they're rounded. This place has quickly become our new favorite in the neighborhood. I would say come in smaller groups if you wanna sit by the belt, otherwise they have larger tables by the farback for bigger parties, away from the belts. The most awful dinning experience ever! I would have given this place with no star if I could. We came here for a birthday dinner on a Saturday night, and made a reservation at 7pm. Because there were a lot a people waiting and we didn't get a table until 7:35pm which I totally understand. We were told that we only allow 2 hours of dining for this buffet . Foods arrives pretty quick (like 7:50), but the hotpot broths were missing! We got the pot like 8PM , and finally can start eating/ cooking our foods and we were told our time will be EXTENDED because the hot pot broth didn't arrive on time. BUT!!! When we were trying to order more foods at 9:04pm EXACTLY, we were told that our time was up and we can no longer order any more foods and the waitress just LEFT our table without saying anything!!! And nobody ever came to us since!!! We didn't have any chance to even cut the cake or receive any prior notice that our time was up! We were just literally had ONE HOUR to eat and catch up with friends. Do not waste your money in this place! Came here with a friend when we were in Brooklyn. This is a hidden gem! They offer $35.99 seafood hot pot buffet. How can it be sooo cheap? How are they making money? We had fresh salmon, Argentina shrimps and live one, oysters, clams, shrimp pastes, snow crabs legs, shellfish and etc. with the amount of food that we order, this simply can up to $200 in any non buffet hot pot restaurants. 5 stars for services: very attentive servers, good at recommending and answering all of our questions 5 stars for the environment: clean and hygiene. 5 stars for food: very fresh Strongly recommended this place. Super fresh seafood here!!! So I love the other hotpot spots but when I found out this place has ayce seafood I was really excited to come and try this place out with family. Made reservations for a party of 6 people on a Wednesday night, the place has a good amount of people it's $35.99/person for seafood and $19.99 for regular hotpot which has some seafood like crab and shrimp. They ask you if you want a party room which is a minimum of $288.. I declined cause we didn't have enough people for that. Anyways when I tell you the seafood was Fresh I mean it's fressshhh the razor clams were still moving! The Atlantic shrimps were HUGE! They have raw oyster which were amazing as well! Sooo good, meat quality was a 4/5 pretty good still. Everything else was the same as other hotpot spots. Soup base is was bland but I didn't care for the soup I wanted to enjoy the seafood! This spot is pretty good for seafood hot pot. Most hot pot spots have seafood but this spot got more options. They also have razor clams, artic shrimps (palm size), live shrimp, snow crabs etc. The price is higher but you get better seafood. There's an option for regular hot pot which is $20. Seafood option is $36. They also got a conveyor belt that serves regular hot pot food. Which is fun but they sat us in the back and we didn't get to experience it. I didn't give it a 5 star because we had reservations at 9 but wasn't seated till 9:30. Overall pretty good and will def come back read more

We came for a party. We had the seafood hot pot. The seafood was fresh. Some were frozen but, still good quality. (The above statement was written in front of our server because I had to write the review to get the 5% discount for our total bill. Overall, it was not a bad place for a Chinese hot pot. I just will not go out of my way to come from where I live if it were not for my high school friends wanting to eat in Brooklyn. We had to wait for 40 minutes more for our table even though we arrived 20 minutes prior to our appointment time. So we waited for almost an hour for our table. Can you imagine about 20ish people waiting by the front desk because it was cold outside?! There were only two chairs to sit. We were given one private room in the basement with a karaoke/dining room split set up. for our party of about 25 people which consisted of adults and children. Our room had a part of the wall paper coming off. Some of the hot pot plates were cracked. The chairs were mix matched as if they bought them from other restaurants that were closing down and they got them for a penny on the dollar. The restaurant's decor was cheesy for my taste. It looked like a scene from the Sponge Bob Square Pant's restaurant. The main dining room had stuff hanging what looked like nets/ivy that belong in the garden. Our servers were nice. They were attentive. Some items which were more expensive had to be asked repeatedly for us to get the items to our table. We had all the typical items that you can get from any Chinese hot pot place. The item that stood out was the Alaskan giant shrimp which was the longer than my palm. Although it was frozen and I question its origination, it was good. We had the razor clams and Alaskan crab legs. We also had the surf clam and salmon sashimi. They gave us Haagen-Daz ice cream cups at the end for dessert. Because of the size of our group, the server told us that there is no time limit for our room which was nice...to make up for the time that we had to wait for our room. A new refreshing place for hotpot, all you can eat style. Also, it is ktv!!! Their seafood is pretty fresh. I like the staffs more, they are very nice and offer a lot of free items like drinks. There is an hour limit for food but you can add time for ktv. We are filled up with food feeling nice and warm. Everyone is singing afterwards. The staffs are a plus to this place. I did not read any reviews and place a bet on this place and it came out pretty good. I enjoyed it and surely will be back in the future. Last night is my first time there and will be my last time too. We reserved a private room for a friend gathering party. Many friends hadn't seen one another for years (some more than 20years). We were told that there would be $288 for first two hours and $60 per additional hour for KTV and hot pot dinner. So we went there thinking to have a good time and enjoy some singing the whole night there. Wrong! While we were getting excited seeing one another and started sharing some old memories and stories, the restaurant told us to finish eating and leave. They never told us that we could only use the room for two hours to begin with, suddenly they wanted to kick everyone out! Horrible experience in my life, never happen to me before! I tried hard to explain to the restaurant, but they just wanted to clear the room and gave the room to another group of people for more business. We ended up not even singing a complete song, not taking a group photo, not even having enough time to talk to one another! It seems awesome to be able to karaoke and eat but honestly, when you do all you can eat with friends which means unlimited food, who actually stops to go sing and not eat?! Those people are definitely not human. Unless they ate beforehand. My friends and I were busy eating so there's no different from any hotpot place with songs playing in the background. The only good thing is the extra space we got to do white elephant gift exchange at and to take pictures but that was after we ate. The service was slow. It's like they didn't know we existed downstairs. The woman who served us knew zero English. Didn't even know the names of the food so we basically could not communicate with her. That's ok since we pointed and wrote down what we want (she was very nice about everything). She also told us since we added another hour we get two free pitchers of drinks which made us all so happy because we were thirsty from the food/sauce and the herbal drink we got barely had any taste. But when those two pitches of juices came lol it didn't have much taste either. Another thing is we had to go upstairs to get sauce. They had sauce in the room but limited. They only had sirarcha upstairs which is ridiculous! We all had to take turns going up to get sauce. It wasn't a very fun eating experience. I was already appalled at the amount of time it took for them to bring out RAW ingredients for the hotpot, the fact that the server talked down on her co-worker just completely blew my mind. THANK THE OWNER for the conveyor belt because without it, we would've starved! We came right when they started the belt (at around 4:00 - 4:30pm). I'm assuming they don't always have the belt on? In terms of food, their AYCE menu was comparable to other hotpot places. If anything, they have a slightly bigger menu. Hot Pot 828 is frickin' great! Like, conveyer belt hot pot, people. Need I say more!?!? CONVEYER BELT. HOT. POT. How can you not give that five stars!?!? Hot Pot 828 is a funky space, with two separate conveyer belts that snake throughout the restaurant and remain loaded with a large variety of tasty things throughout the night. The deal here is you pay a set price for all you can eat for two hours and then you can go to town. You can do the normal menu, or the seafood menu - everybody needs to decide beforehand and you cannot mix. If one person gets seafood, you all gotta pay for it. Then, in my group of six people each person got their own hot pot with their own soup choice - nice to have the option of individual per person, great for bringing those friends who don't eat meat or whatever, or are too chicken to get the spicy soup base. Then you can order plates of meat and fish which will be brought out to you on request (you get multiple chances to do this throughout the night so don't over order, you have to pay for what you don't finish). Then you can walk over to the sauce station in the back of the restaurant and load up on all of the peanut, oyster, soy, chili, and whatever else sauces you want to accompany your meal. THEN you can GO TO TOWN on that conveyer belt and load up on all of the awesome rice cakes, vegetables, noodles, seaweed, and whatever else fun things come by you. I was very satisfied with the options for the price (VERY reasonable for the normal menu! Not bad for the expanded menu!), our servers were attentive and I can't wait to come back here again. This is the top notch hotpot restaurant in New York! I really like their conveyor belt concept! The ingredients are VERY fresh! This is the only hot pot restaurant I have seen that serves big Argentina prawns! Their seafood is very high quality. Highly recommend the sliced fish. The soup base is very flavorful! I had the savory tomato base and my friend had the pork bone base. They also have a large selection of the sauce to choose from, from chilly paste to sacha sauce ( sesame paste). There is a conveyor belt passing the food to your table non stop! The staff is very friendly! They will help you to order the fresh seafood from the kitchen quickly! Last but not the least, the decor and the ambiance stands out from other neighborhood "traditional" restaurant. I noticed there are also private rooms with Karaoke. I don't know why people are giving this place such bad reviews. My girlfriend and I are here last night and it was hands down one of the best hot pot places available in the area. The seafood platter we ordered had some jumbo head-on shrimp that was really fresh - the few pieces of salmon sashimi that came with the order were even fresh enough to eat raw with some soy sauce and wasabi. The conveyor belt was fun to use. It's a bit of a novelty but enjoyable none-the-less. We came on Thursday so we took advantage of the unlimited beer option which was Sapporo. For karaoke, they have beer and wine only but they offer a corkage fee of only $10 should you decide to bring your own hard liquor. That's an amazing deal honestly. I didn't feel rushed at all during our time here and the staff were very attentive and sweet. 10/10 would recommend and come back again. Have you ever had the concept of hot pot and conveyor belt? Well this is the place. The food is served on the conveyor belt upstairs. This place definitely has the Halloween spirit. It's nicely decorated. We were a party of 11 ppl booked a private food for hot pot and karaoke. We were brought downstairs via an elevator into V-5 private room. This private room is terrible. It's missing the individual hot pot which defeats the whole purpose. We were given two big hot pot. Why? We could've hot pot using the two big pot ourselves at home. That's a bummer. The waitress told us that this is the only room that wasn't upgraded to individual pots yet. Why should we suffer? We pay the same dollar amount as any other customer and we did not have the same privileges to enjoy. No discount was given what so ever. In additional we were given four little gas run individual little hot pots. The whole night these little stove doesn't even work. It wasn't charged enough or what? It totally killed our mood. I love the fact that they had private rooms with karaoke. The room we had was very nice and roomy for a party of 10-12 ppl. The room splits up to two section with a big round table on one size and karaoke on the other. But it is an open room so you can interact while your party eating and singing.
