Had a wonderful dinner experience here, I recommend to anyone visiting. The service was impeccable, as well as the food. Request to sit inside!! We found ourselves touching the walls amazed by the history we were experiencing.

Still amazing! We visited eight years ago. I wanted to take my husband back this time so he can enjoy the decor, food and ambience. We were not disappointed. We were immediately greeted at the door and warmly welcomed. We ordered a wonderful bottle of wine that was presented professionally. We also ordered appetizers for the table, a house, appetizer of grilled vegetables and buffalo mozzarella and a pate. For dinner entrées, we chose a house made gnocchi with a red sauce, veal dish and a truffle penne. Everything was wonderful top-notch. We finished with a tiramisu and complementary delicious limoncello. I cannot wait to visit again. I work for the Airlines and travel the world looking for the best food to indulge. I appreciate elevated food, and I cannot wait to take coworkers who will appreciate.

This restaurant is a must is you visit Rome. There was an old theatre in the Rome Time. You feel that is dinning in a small Coliseum. The food is awesome. All dishes since appetizers and entries were over our expectations. Emanuel was our waiter and he did an outstanding job. All his recommendtions were very good and his service was great. We definitely will return before leave Rome. Highly recommended!!!.

Some of the most authentic Italian food we had in Rome! After being in Italy for almost 10 days we wanted our last meal to be special so we did our help research and landed on this place. Rome has many restaurants so it was no easy task. The moment we stepped in the restaurant we knew we chose well. The setting was really neat inside with stone walls that seemed like a restored building. There was outdoor seating as well. The bread basket had a variety of crackers and bread so I knew were were in a nice place. We wanted wine but not a whole bottle so our waiter said "just get a bottle and drink want you want. We won't charge you for the whole thing if you don't eat it." We were surprised but sure enough we only paid 5 Euro for our wine! The seafood was definitely fresh and you could tell. We both got seafood pasta dishes and finished them both. We also got the fresh grilled prawns. It tasted like lobster! We tried the tiramisu for dessert and the waiter also brought us some cookies on the house. A great authentic Italian experience !

this restaurant is where Julius Cesar was assassinated in 44 B.C. Hostaria Constanza sits inside the ancient amphitheater, but let's get to the food because it was quite literally the best pasta I had in all of Rome. Their cacio e pepe has an edible cheese bowl, making it all the more unique. My favorite though was the rigatoni Alla norcina with black truffles and sausage. Unbelievably delicious and must try, filled with good food and history.

Stopped in here with my family. They had been many times before and told me it was good. And they were right. The service... took a little while longer then expected. It was very busy with lots of noisy families eating out. But the food was worth it. A cut above. Absolutely delicious amatriciana and scallope lemone. Would love to come back here!

Excellent and very genuine Italian restaurant next to the Campo d'Fiori, and much better than those directly surrounding it.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I'm glad we did. The wait for a table was a little long and we really wanted a place to sit and relax after a long day touring the Roman Forum & the Colosseum. After about about 40 minutes we were finally seated and the server & host were very nice and fun to chat with. You can tell they enjoy what they do. For the antipasti, aka appetizers, we had Fried Squids aka calamari & Carciofo allá Giudia aka Crunchy artichoke were excellent. Our main courses we ordered lamb leg with roasted potatoes, absolutely delectable. I don't recall the what the salad he suggested was called. He said it's not on the menu but he wanted me to try it. Only in Rome he said. It was a crunchy cold salad with some type of fish sauce as a dressing. Very crisp and refreshing. The Squid stuffed with prawn (aka shrimp), so tasty. Also, the ravioli with fresh tomato sauce, so savory! For desert we had the creamy tiramisu. They should change it to the dreamy tiramisu because it was heaven. The host played a prank on my daughter and brought her. Plate with one noodle and a little bacon bit. He said the plate of spaghetti allá carbonara was "no charge!" They also had some wine that they served up in what looked like shot glasses. We didn't have any but after seeing the alcohol percentage I see why it was served in such a small quantity. 26% alcohol !!

Our family of four was waiting to be seated when a local family of four arrived after us and was seated immediately. We were eventually seated right next to them, and they were served bread while we were ignored and received none. We ordered wine that was never brought to the table, and at one point a waiter who was not even serving us removed our wine glasses after we had already ordered the wine. The service throughout the meal was chaotic and rude. The artichoke dish was extremely bland -- no seasoning and no flavor at all. Most of the food was greasy and disappointing. To make matters worse, we were seated directly next to the kitchen where the cooks and waiters were loudly arguing throughout our meal. We understand that service in Italy is often slower and more relaxed, and we have enjoyed wonderful hospitality everywhere else during our trip. However, this was by far the worst service we experienced anywhere in Italy. We were even asked if we wanted the bill before we had finished eating, while the local family next to us remained seated comfortably long after finishing their meal. We left feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. Unfortunately, this restaurant seemed interested only in serving locals well. If you are not Italian, do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere. We absolutely do not recommend this place.

We split a salad that was big enough for a meal, my wife had the bolognese, and I had the steak. It was super rare, but as I cut into it, I would lay it onto the stone to allow it to cook a bit more. I like it on the lean side of medium rare and my wife prefers a bit more. This was perfect for us to both enjoy it the way we like. Her pasta was excellent as well and we enjoyed sharing the meal. A bottle of wine topped off a great dinner. The weather was rainy so we opted to sit inside and it was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was helpful with our choices and we enjoyed his observations. The only thing I can say that was off, was the older woman who was paying her bill before me was pressured into leaving a tip ( service charge, is what he said). I was prepared for that but was not asked to tip. Great meal, we enjoyed it immensely, but the service charge that was scammed out of the 70+ year old lady in front of me kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. I was going to tip a few euros because we enjoyed ourselves so much, but decided not to because of the way it was presented to the party before us.

He was upset with the host because he had burned the plastic on the outdoor tent as he had placed a heater too close to it. It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
