I would give it 0 if I could. Couldn't take a card, would only take a check. After saying that he ordered the part he claimed he needed additional money to cover the parts. After writing him a second check he has continued to not answer or return my calls for weeks. Please save yourself the headache and do business elsewhere. read more

Sorry that I have to give a 1-star review since I had such a positive experience previously. I would be inclined to just let this go as a lesson learned, but I've been recommending Clint to anyone who asked and previously left a 5-star review and that information needs to be corrected. I bought a used wine refrigerator from an estate sale (another lesson learned) that wasn't working right, so I called Clint. He had worked on a refrigerator-freezer a couple of years ago and got things working again quickly, although the first time he was here he was several hours late and said he'd been up all night working on his van. Huh, well he did finally get here and did a good job. This time I texted him pictures of the refrigerator and the identifying markings so he'd know what he was dealing with. On March 11, he was going to be here sometime between 10 am and 1 pm It got to be almost 1 and I hadn't seen or heard anything so sent a text asking for an ETA. Nothing. At 2:15 sent another text...nothing. At 4:28 got a text saying he'd be here in about 20 minutes. When he finally got here he was very apologetic and told me he'd put my appointment down for the wrong day and hadn't gotten my texts because he'd been out of cell phone contact. Spent a lot of time telling me how much his wife's death had impacted him and he wasn't thinking clearly. Turns out she had passed last year and he is struggling. He looked at the refrigerator and told me he didn't know what to do he would have to research it. Meantime, I needed to give him a check for $186.75 to cover his time, this trip and any future trips. I did that because he had done the same thing last time and it worked out. So off he went to "research" what to do. About 3 days later, I texted asking him where he was with the research and ordering and asking if he could get the parts ordered that weekend. I believe that was when he called me and said his brother had been sick and he'd been dealing with that. March 14 and March 15 I sent texts asking if he could get to that that project soon. No response to either. The call with the story about his brother being sick was the last time I heard from him. On March 18, I sent a text telling him that in the absence of a response from him, I made other arrangements to take care of the refrigerator. No response. On April 1, I sent him a text with an outline of events and communications and asked for a refund of $100. since I thought the $86.75 remainder should cover his one-time trip fee and no services rendered. (Check cashed within 24 hours of being here). No response to that either. So, I spent $186.75, and many hours waiting for Clint to arrive/waiting for Clint to respond to texts and in return got aggravation, no repairs done and my own time wasted. read more

I got most of my kitchen appliances second hand and I was unable to get my Samsung fridge to dispense any water. I talked with a repairman over the phone and they walked me through a bunch of troubleshooting but ultimately said they didn't support Samsung models. Then I got in touch with Clint and scheduled time for him to come take a look - he was able to figure it out almost instantly (it was an electrical issue with wiring inside of the fridge). Fixed it, switched out my garbage disposal switch, and also took a look at commercial freezer to offer some advice on parts and care (he also gave some great advice for the garbage disposal as well). He offered to order missing parts for the fridge too and when I decided I would rather give it a shot to find them myself first, he recommended a website I might have luck on. Clint was more expensive than other repairmen I talked to but you really do get what you pay for - I've thrown away enough money having people come and fix things 3-4X because the job keeps being done incorrectly. Clint was in and out quickly, wore a mask, he was quick to schedule, easy payment options with instant electronic receipts, he was familiar with all of my appliances, and he was helpful with sharing tips and education on my appliances. He is certified by a lot of specialty brands and commercial appliance repair as well, so he really seems to know his stuff! I'll definitely be using him again in the future. read more

We just bought another house and had to have the Samsung dryer repaired as it was making a huge noise every time we used it. We also had to have my Frigidaire refrigerator display repaired as it was showing only parts of the digits. I'm glad I called Hoskin Appliance Service to have these repairs done. First the lady who answered the phone was very helpful and genuinely nice when I called to inquire about having an estimate done. The date for the estimate to be done was set about five days later. Clint the owner came by and made an assessment and told me what needed to be done. Yes he wears a mask. He also noted the model number to order the appropriate parts. When the parts came in about a week later he called me to set up the appointment for repair. The trip fee is $99 which is not too bad. The total came out to be $426. I didn't want to buy a new dryer for $1,000+. If I did I would also have to buy a new washing machine for another $1,000+. Now I can still use the dryer instead of spending $2,000+ frivolously. I believe his prices are fair for quality plus he is very knowledgeable and personable. I will pay for quality and value and that is what Hoskin Appliance Service is. On the day of the repair he showed up right in the window that he said he would. He told me between 8 am and 11 am. He was on time. My dryer works now. Very pleased. The five star reviews are true. Even the reviews that are listed as "not recommended" are five stars. In the future if I need any work done on appliances I am calling Hoskin Appliance Service. read more

Great job, and service. Mr. Hoskin knows his appliances and was quickly able to tell us what was wrong with our dishwasher. He also knew what was wrong with the stove, tried to adjust but needed to order parts. He did so and got back to us as soon as he got them and was back out within a day to install. I was taking care of my Mom after a mild stroke and her oven had a big pop and flash of light which blew the fuse. I reset and tried again to no avail. Started a search on Yelp and Clint responded that he just finished a job near me and could be available in 20 minutes...unheard of!! I explained situation thoroughly over phone call and he was able to come up with two possible scenarios for potential problem. He arrived at my mom's home, and began his inspection immediately. Within ten minutes he identified the problem and within 30 minutes it was fixed and put back in place. Tools were super organized, Clint is personable and knowledgable and I took several of his cards to contact him in the future! Excellent Service by Clint replacing three switches that register if the door is closed or opened on a built-in microwave (Whirlpool oven / microwave combo). He made the diagnostics on the phone and it seemed right on based on my observations. I could tell he knew how the microwave was built. He also carried the switches. He arrived within 24 hours during the three hour time window he had give me on the phone. One switch was not working well and Clint recommended to replace all three, when it was taken apart anaway. He did not carry the light bulb for the microwave and for me it was more important to get it done than wait for the bulb to be shipped. read more
