Since the establishment is listed as a wine bar, I was picturing a cozier/more intimate vibes.....but would say it is more comparable to Bdubs, but with Mad Tree vides. We ordered drinks and then I went to order food. Being my first time, I asked the worker taking the orders for the food to tell me about the spinach artichoke dip, she responded with "its made out of spinach and artichoke".......then I asked her about the breadsticks to which she responded "they are made with bread".........I then I asked her what dishes did not have meat (I was with a vegetarian) and the worker responded "the breadsticks"......Honestly her responses to me/attitude were very off putting and made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. There's potential but staff does not seem to care about harnessing that potential. Upon walking in, we let the host know that this our first time at the place so he could explain how things worked. We spent the rest of the evening pretty much trying to figure things out on our own. Noone bothered to come and clean our table after we located an unoccupied one still with dirty dishes piled all over the surface. So we had to hunt for someone to do that. Then we waited for someone to come and take our orders. After a couple of staff walked by, stopped one to ask how we placed an order only then to be told we had to go the bar. After finally placing the order, got part of the order delivered about 20 min later, minus two other pizzas. Had to wait another 20 min for those. And one of the pizzas was the wrong size. So they had to go make another one. Ended up asking for our money back for the still to be delivered pizza, more than another 20 min later. Never got to the half-sized bowling lanes. Hoppin' Vines has become my very favorite place in Cincinnati! The place literally has everything. 40 beers on tap, wine flights, tons of whiskey, pizza and duckpin bowling. The bartenders are super knowledgeable, so just ask if you're not sure where to start! They just started putting out space heaters for their patios too, which is awesome. It is my go to for sports and you can always find a tv playing what you are looking for. The inside is huge. Outside of their regular tables, there is an area that has indoor fireplace seating, private party room you can reserve and a separate area for duckpin bowling. Love Delicio's coal fire pizza too! The menu offers more than just pizza as well. I will also mention that they really stepped up their protocol b/c of COVID. It is clear that they take it very seriously. My review is only about the pizza. We had previously really enjoyed Delicio Pizza at the Montgomery road location before it closed. So we thought we would try it again. This was a different experience. The pizza was very soupy. Almost like the crust was not fully cooked except on the outside edge. The flavor was good, but had to eat it with a fork or fold it in half on top the outside crust. Probably won't be back. I expected more for the cost. read more

Atmosphere is really great but the food was really lackluster. I got a plain cheese pizza and if you mess up that- there really isn't any hope for you. Great new local spot. Always skeptical about a new spot, but they have really done a great just with the place. There's a lot going on but it seems to work. All the beer and wine you want and a fun menu of casual, yet flavorful fancy flavors of pizza. On a busy night it would have been nice to have someone keep taking our drink/food order, but not a huge deal. Only bits of feedback were that on Friday night the band was super talented, but wow SO loud! So loud that we spent our time yelling over the music and most of time could not hear person next to me. This reminds me of a mall food court. There are no servers. You go to the only food place, which is pizza, and order there and pay. Then you have to fight your way to the bar, order your drinks and pay. So basically you'll have all kinds of charges on your card because you have to pay separately for everything. The place was very loud so if you're there to socialize and talk, I wouldn't bother. You can barely hear anything. Kids are running everywhere. Looks like parents go to eat pizza and drink and let their kids roam and scream. Admittedly, this is not the establishments fault, although I think the atmosphere lends itself to this behavior. I've had way better pizza. The crust was buttery and crunchy but the toppings were sparse and that's putting it nicely. Most of my slices had 2 small pieces of mushroom and that's it. Prices weren't too bad. The pizza was $17 and my husband and I shared it. We only got soft drinks and they were $2 each with free refills. Except you have to get your own refills, which means fighting your way to the front of the bar area and flagging down a bartender. All in all, I won't go back. I'll opt for a restaurant that has servers and much better pizza. PS - We didn't do the bowling, but we sat near the hostess stand (btw, the hostess was super nice and fairly frazzled as she seemed to be the only person there) and listened to people continually complain about the issues with the set up of the bowling. read more

This is a unique venue in an area that is saturated with restaurants and bars. Haven't been able to do the duckpin bowling yet, since it is usually very busy; but the beer, wine and bourbon selection is outstanding. The food menu is also surprisingly varied and good. The margherita pizza is outstanding, and the house salad is among the best I've ever had. My 93 year old Italian Mom said the salad dressing was the first she's ever tasted that approximated her own. Great atmosphere for adults and kids! Wine selection and beer selection is deeeep. Board games, coloring books, puzzles & more tucked away near the fireplace for everyone's pleasure. Menu was large, but we didn't order anything. Wait staff and hostess' were extremely kind and helpful while our 2 year old had a melt down. I will say, it can get very loud while the band is playing (like, yell to me because i can't hear you - kinda loud) but this is a given I suppose due to the architecture. My one star review applies only for the service. My fiance and I have passed Hoppin' Vines several times on our way to the mall, so naturally we were excited to finally be able to try it out. Upon entering, we were met with a nearly empty restaurant and bar. The hostess stand was empty. Instead, our only direction was noted on a chalkboard guiding us to the bar for drinks or tables for food. We sat for 10 minutes at the tables without any employee speaking to us. This was especially frustrating since 3 employees made eye contact with us. 1 of these 3 employees was sweeping the floor about 5 feet away from us. We arose from the table to walk over to the duckpin bowling section, where the directions said to go to the hostess to sign up. Again, the hostess stand was still vacant. By this time, we felt completely helpless. I've never experienced this level of apathy from a restaurant. We ended up leaving. I was walking the short distance from my home to the Kenwood Town Center with my two young children. It was quite hot out and I was getting a bit thirsty so, when I saw hoppin vines just up the street, I decided to give it a try. After being greeted at the front door, I first noticed the energetic atmosphere (I was also pleasantly surprised to hear Pink Floyd playing over the speakers). I then made my way to the bar and ordered a "Red Cream Soda Seltzer" and a couple sodas from a very kind and welcoming female bartender. Once my boys and I had settled in, we decided it might be fun to try the "duckpin bowling." In just a few shakes of a lambs tail, the host opened a lane and directed us towards the bowling room. Time flew as we played game after game, spending nearly three hours engrossed in the sport. With dusk nearing, I told the boys that it was time to go. They had so much fun and wanted to stay all night, but since it was nearing their bedtime, I simply could not allow another game. I practically had to drag them out the door, and promised that we could return in the morning for some more fun family time. We all had such a good time and it was great to see that even the employees were enjoying themselves (they seemed to all be great friends and were even playing little games of paper football!). Everybody at this establishment was so kind and helpful! I can't wait to go back and try some of the delicious looking pizza and appetizers that are featured on the menu. read more

Went to this restaurant on 10/14/2020. Walked in as a family of 4 for a quick bite. We walked in around 9:40. We walked up to the food counter, looking over the menus about the kitchen. Two or three different employees were in the kitchen, at the counter. While we were looking at the menu, at least two different bartenders walked past us to go back to the bar. When we decided what we wanted and walked over to the bar to order, we were told that the kitchen closed at 9:30. That's fine, totally understandable. What isn't understandable is how we stood looking at the menus and no less than 5 employees saw us looking at food menus or walked past while we were looking at food menus, and no one said a word. We were literally standing at the counter in front of the kitchen, looking up at the menus, and everyone in the kitchen saw us there. How hard would it have been to say "Hey, I'm sorry, we just closed up!" or for one of the bartenders that walked by to say something similar? We didn't even get to stay for dinner and the service was terrible, I can't imagine how bad it would be if we did. Definitely don't plan on coming back here. read more

This is a huge family friendly bar in Kenwood doing everything right. So much space inside with a lot of seating. There's also a covered seating area outside with a fireplace.The bar is massive with a lot of craft beer and wine selections. Plenty of friendly bartenders to wait on you who come around to your table too. Delicio's Pizza is part of the space serving coal fired pizza, wings,meatballs, etc. Plenty of tv's to watch your favorite sports team. There is entertainment on friday and saturday nights but the most unique aspect of this place is the duckpin bowling. Loved it! read more

I went today for the first time today and there's a great chance I will not be back. I will say there are some positives about this place. It has a great atmosphere and there is a large beer and wine menu selection. We did order food, and the food was very tasty, just a little salty for my particular taste. That is really odd for me to say, because I really love salt. The reason for my one star is because of the service, or lack of service we received. We sat at the bar and the bartender was more interested in making sure she would get to eat her own food, organizing the wine bottles, and getting water for customers that weren't there yet. When I mentioned that I could order the drinks, that is when she was more worried about water for guests that were not there. She then took her sweet time to come and take the order.We were there for two hours and never once did she ask us if we would like another cocktail or wine. I felt very unwelcome and that it was more of a pain for her to have to wait on us. read more

BEWARE! WARNING! Ask alcohol drink price before ordering. I ordered 3 different draft beers and were charged a different price for each. One beer costs $13 for 10 oz pour only that was 8.5%. I know that I have gotten this same draft down the road for only $6. Another one cost $9 for a pint but was only a 4.9%. I do not appreciate a place that participates in price gouging. If they are going to do this then at least publish the price or inform you at the time of ordering. I was not aware until I closed my tab then I had no choice but to pay the ridiculous price.
