This place is really cool, has an amazing beer list and ambiance, and I love that Delicio moved here.... BUT, BUT, please get some servers! Tables were about 1/3 full when we were and the line for a beer was over 15 minutes with families ordering food and drinks. I really hope they get some staff to serve the tables, or at least do some kind of order from your phone thing, because the wait ruined the whole experience. read more

Yikes don't go here...very unorganized staff, crazy stupid rules. No food while you bowl? Only one game allowed at a time and then you must STOP bowling and get back in line at the end of the queue and wait 30 more minutes (or more) for another chance to bowl a second game? Waste of time. More time waiting than actual bowling. Not fun. Machines broke down 3 times (balls wouldn't return, pins wouldn't reset) during one game...no one paying attention to help? This location was recommended to me by a family member to have a birthday gathering this past weekend. We ordered about 15 pizza and 4 dips. My pizza's were cold. I asked several times could we get them heated up. I was told "NO" by the waitress, than she tells me where the pizza are sitting they will always be cold. A few of my guest ordered chicken wings boneless/ regular that wasn't done. The general manger wasn't trying to hear that the food was cold, chicken half cooked, and soggy. He refused to take food off the checks or take anymore orders. It's a nice place but they LACK having good customer service. Update: Here I am with 2 reviews on this place in 2 months. Stopped in Saturday to watch college football. Had a pizza and wings and one of 40 beers on tap. I must say the wings were the best we've ever had anywhere and we have had a lot of wings over the years. Large and tender almost falloff the bone, not chewy. Must be the coal oven. Ordered the Trio pizza. Very good and plenty of toppings & cheese. Also, in the past they had used paper plates and plastic wear. Now, regular plates and real silver wear. A nice upgrade. read more

My husband enjoyed the porter he tried. I got a flight of Malbec wines. A 3 oz pour and 3 different wines so a nice amount. We bowled 2 games and then ordered pizza and another drink. We brought the kids for a little Saturday afternoon fun and we had a great time! The place was very family friendly, plenty of kids around, the beer is good, plenty of options and they have pizza if you start feeling hungry. The kids had a great time, the duck pin bowling area is off to the side of the main bar area which made it nice not to worry where the kids were while we were bowling. The lights and decorations made for a fun, party atmosphere. This would be a great place to bring a group of friends, or have a date night. All self service. Found out the hard way as we tipped 20%+ not realizing that they only drop your food off, that's it. Don't close out your check before you get any service as we did. Had to get our own utensils,drinks,refills and wait 10 minutes or more for my salad after my husband got his food. He was halfway done before I got mine. Had to go up to counter 2x to see where it was. Can't believe they show a 30% tip as the first option on the checkout screen. Ironically, the woman who picked up our dirty plates was an unpaid volunteer - the owner's girlfriend. Was the only one deserving a tip. Wings are very good. This place is awesome. Went there for my birthday with my family and we were treated incredibly well by the manager. He was kind enough to let us sit in the side room (typically for parties) and that was helpful for my dad who has some hearing issues. The food is provided by Delicioso(?). They specialize in wood fired pizza. We loved everything we got. Pizza, wings, meatballs. The beer selection was awesome and the bowling was really fun. Bowling is kinda cool. Food is sub par. We went here as a large group, $25 a person. There was "unlimited" pizza and bowling. It took forever to get any pizza at all, and they kicked us off of the lanes to have other people play before our time was up. The first set of 4 pizzas came out about 20 minutes after we got there, and we were expecting a lot more. Menu prices are very overpriced, and the food portions are not very large. It does taste alright, but it could be better. There was not much added when it came to toppings, and was not much to it. The next set of 4 took well over an hour to get. This place is pretty cool for families and small groups. If you are looking for a quick out and have some fun, this is definitely a great choice. But if you are looking for a place for a large group of teens, I would not recommend Hoppin' Vines. Pros: Bowing was okay Cons: Slow, and not amazing food. read more

Came here on a Sunday and was practically empty but really loved the newer space. Got pizzas, some beer, and played a game of duckpin bowling (free game with yelp!). The pizza wasn't above average, but for a place with other attractions it was pretty good. 4 friends split 3 small pizzas. They have a pretty good selection of different kinds of local beers & IPAs. Hoppin Vines was a pleasant surprise. I hadn't been in the building since it was Friday's. The inside looks spectacular- compete upgrade from the chain generic restaurant days. It's very open with high ceilings, a tasteful & modern look and functional for large groups. I'm not the biggest craft beer drinker, but they did have several (over 30) to enjoy. The food was great. That's run by Delicio, which I haven't had since their old location was in Montgomery. They make tasty food, a little pricey I think for what it is, but still good. One thing I think can be improved on at HV is the customer service. There seemed to be a spectrum of quality customer service here, or at least that is how I felt. One bartender was very friendly and made nice conversation-she seemed happy to let you sample beers so you could find what you'd want a full glass of. The other bartender was attentive, but not as personable. He seemed polite, but I didn't get the feel he wanted to help you find your favorite beer. Another team member made you feel like you were inconveniencing him to do his job. No polite greeting, banter, a friendly facial expression or basic manners like saying "Thank you" or "How can I help you?" .... maybe he was a having a rough day, who knows. Any-who I definitely recommend Hoppin Vines for a fun and exciting experience. The pin bowling was really fun and I could see myself playing for hours. I didn't know what to expect when going her with a friend, but when you first walk in you order at the counter and then pick a table. I got a cheeseboard to share and the pepperoni pizza. The cheeseboard was FANTASTIC! I loved the meat that they picked and the cheese that they suggested. The staff also seemed super knowledgeable on what the offerings were. I also accidentally dropped my credit card and they came looking for me and when they came to my table, they even required to see my ID before claiming which made me feel very safe! I like what they do here and they pull it off well. Think Bar Louie mixed with a brewery you like. You can seat yourself and they have outside and inside seating. We decided to sit on the patio since it was nice out and they had the Finals on TV. They have a bar where you can walk up to order drinks and a separate area where you can order your food. No waiters or waitresses, just order whenever and wherever you like. They have nearly 40 brews on tap with very good selection. I went with ole reliable, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Delicio prepares the food and their menu is mostly pizza but they also have wings, salads, etc. I tried the Philly cheese steak pizza and it wasn't my favorite mostly because of the American cheese but it was prepared right (next time I'll try something different). In addition, they have an area for duckpin bowling if you're interested. Needless to say this place is a one stop shop for fun and a good unique date night spot. They have 6 duck pin bowling lanes, full bar with over 40 taps, tons of wine, and solid cocktail selection. I had a Hopmosa which is a mix of liquor and beer and muddled strawberry's. YUM. We also had a Delicio pizza and it was really good too. Overall very pleased. Just an FYI it is family friendly and there were a lot of kids, not a huge deal but please remember a bar/restaurant isn't a free babysitter for you. Watch your dang kids and don't let them run around like crazy while you drink . Super cool place. Dropped by for a drink after dinner a few weeks back and was really impressed. The space is huge, tons of seating, and plenty of reserved tables for parties etc. There is a bar with 40+ beers, a duckpin bowling area (smaller than the open social area) and delicio pizza is on site. I initially thought they were just next to each other and you could bring the pizza with you or order it in, but it is fully integrated with the space, which is awesome. Let's start with service. There isn't any. I got suckered into adding a tip only to find out that the only thing in the way of service is that they hand you a drink and someone brings your food to your table. After that, nothing. Get your own plates, silverware, napkins etc. I stood at the bar trying to get a refill on water and the bartender just looked the other way. I finally saw him walking by and asked about a refill and he said to go to the front bar where everyone is trying to order food. I finally saw an opening and once the gal got off her phone, she gave me more ice and water. I then asked for another glass of water and she rolled her eyes and begrudgingly gave it to me. Pizza was ok. My wife ordered fries. Worst ever. No salt, baked in the oven, no oil not crispy at all. Terrible. One shareable pizza, one personal gluten free pizza, fries and a drink, plus that tip was $75 and the worst part is my wife got sick after eating there. Never again. read more

Went today for one drink and one round of duck pin bowling. It was fun! The service was great; we were greeted and asked if we'd been there before as soon as we walked in the door. The bartender asked what type of beer we like and then recommended several different ones to try and gave samples - awesome :) it was super helpful since their beer menu is overwhelming lol and they have a HUGE wine menu to boot :) I can't wait to go back to eat and play next time! This is a very interesting addition to the Kenwood area. Delicio pizza is served, the bar has a great selection of beer on draft, there's plenty of wine to choose from, and they have a few lanes for duck pin bowling. It's like if Taft's Brewpourium and Pins Mechanical Co. had a baby! They have open seating very similar to Taft's, so I recommend scouting out a place to sit before you order your pizza at the counter. I saved a spot while my boyfriend ordered our pizza, then he saved the spot while I went to the bar to order our beer. I've never had Delicio before, but now I want to head to Norwood and eat at their restaurant because it was great! I'm not sure how the duck pin bowling works, but the area seemed a little small and there were a ton of small children. Children seem to run wild in this place, so be careful. Being from New York and loving bars with games and a good atmosphere, this place is awesome! The beer choices are top notch, seriously I had a hard time picking between like five different brews. Maybe it's a Cincinnati thing, but there are so many fruit/wheat beers to choose from compared to your typical NYC bar. We played duckpin bowling, which was also a lot of fun. The area is super clean and the best part is that you don't have to rent shoes like regular bowling. There are tables by each lane for food and drinks. Just know you have to pay for each game individually and it doesn't automatically roll into a new game. I already mentioned the drinks and how awesome they were, but the food was also really yummy too. I wish we stayed for dinner because the menu offered some great options for everyone to enjoy. Service was good and I loved the environment. Unfortunately, since it's 500+ miles from where I live, I can't come here every week but I certainly recommend it to anyone close by! read more

Went to check this place out with the wife on a Sunday evening. We were literally the only 2 customers inside. I spotted about 5 workers. Not a single person explained anything to us. How to order? Where to order? How to start bowling? The only instruction on how to do anything was a few vague chalkboards that said "seat yourself" and "you can bowl after you eat OR before you eat." Not one of the 5 people explained a thing to us. We sat down for about 7 to 10 minutes before we just got up and left. Dont forget we were the only customers inside the place. If you are going to have such a confusing and chaotic setup then someone should atleast explain how things work there. May give it one more try...but probably not. Horrible service. read more

Ok so I can't find my original review but I wanted to give an update on how good this place is. As soon as we went in we were greeted and informed about the Covid policy. This was a welcome site with so many disregarding human life by not wearing a mask. It is such a small favor to ask with big consequences. The building opened up to the outside large patio areas so you don't feel suffocated if someone sits at the next table over. Ordering at the bar and they bring the food based on where you choose to sit. My husband and I got the sharable black and blue pizza which has of course blue cheese, steak and a balsamic drizzle. We also got beer after a taste test of a few samples. On top of that we ordered their wings, 6 in the order not 5 but 6, the hot olive and pepper appetizer, after all that I was full but my husband was not yet so he ordered a beef kabob appetizer and me another beer. I was excited to have another option in the Kenwood area since most of my friends and family are Madeira residents. I hate to say it, but I don't get it. There's a hostess stand but you seat yourself, so it's first come kind of place. I get how that works typically, but you're in a neighborhood that has lots of kids. Here's why that doesn't work for them... we got there to meet my family who had a newborn and a 10 year old. The place was packed. For a group of 8 to wait for a spot is pointless. While we stand and wait for a spot big enough to open, the minute a group of 2-4 gets up someone sits down to take it because they're party can fit. So we waited for 10 minutes and left to go to Pie and Pints since they can seat our family in timely manner without us having to constantly circle the place like hawks. We went again a week later because I refused to write them off on just their poor choice of seating arrangements. This time we went with just 4 people. We got wings, meatballs, and a pizza. The food lacked in just about every aspect you want when you go out. We ordered the food and I kid you not, it came out under 5 minutes which is odd. After tasting it I know why. Wings- were obviously made in some kind of pressure cooker/slow cooker. They fell off the bone which is so unappealing with chicken wings. They tried to cover it up by sticking it in the oven to "crisp". Just bad. Meatballs- again, these seemed like they were boiled and then thrown in sauce. There was no color to them. Just bland grey meatballs covered in sauce. If you're not going to make them right then don't offer them. Pizza- This was also a huge disappointment. It was $13 for a small pizza that had almost no toppings. It was supposed to have Brussels sprouts on it and and swear it's like they took 1 Brussel sprout and shaved it on top. There was also bacon but I was shocked at the lack of that topping as well. I pay $2.00 for a maple bacon donut at Holtman's and it has 5x the amount of bacon. I couldn't believe how skimpy they were for that price point on a small pizza. And lastly, although they have a huge beer selection they were lacking in the ciders. My friend has celiac disease and the only cider they carried was Angry Orchard which is so sweet. It'd be nice if they had a dry cider for someone who can't enjoy a beer. Wish I could say I'd be back but without being able to be seated with a group and the awful food, I doubt I'll try it again and spend a ridiculous amount of money. Just not worth it. read more

This is seriously a fun place! It offers loads of fun in Duck pin bowling, and with 40 beer on taps from breweries in Ohio and beyond, you are bound to find something you like!!!
