Had my riding mower serviced here. When service was done, my mower never worked properly…read morethereafter. The fuel filter didn't allow fuel to get to the carburator. I called James River and explained the problem with their service, so they sent the same tech out and BILLED ME AGAIN to correct the poor job they did in the first place.  Also, they billed me to "shapen my blades" even though I didn't ask for it because my blades were brand new. They also added a $125 charge for transportation, but they never transported my riding mower anywhere. Very poor service, items added to my bill I didn't want or ask for, apparent bogus line items, and a questionable billing department makes me say STAY AWAY. I placed a call to their service department to see if they'd care to rectify any of these issues. I understand their billing department is experiencing issues due to covid... but I'm pretty disappointed and will seek elsewhere.  Will update my review if they clear these mistakes up. By the way, my mower still has never performed well ever since they performed their "annual service".  Will go elsewhere to fix whatever they did to my fuel filter. I suspect the wrong one was installed. 10/4/21: UPDATE: It's been over a month and still management has not called me back to discuss the billing mistake. And now they've sent the same exact wrongful bill with a late charge STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!

From overcharging, double charging, wrong charges, no call backs, missed service dates and ridiculously high service rates....they are absolutely the worst I have now called to schedule annual service a third time. All three times they opened work orders and then NOTHING......they don't text a date, they do not email a date and they NEVER call you back The absolute worst service in farming

They had a big sign that said "chicks are here!" So I took my son in to see them. They had them in a gate and I should've known better, but the gate was not locked and I didn't see the sign that said don't go in, and we went in. My son loved seeing the chicks. We didn't mess anything up. About 15 minutes later a staff member came by and told us to get out of the gate. I apologized three times, she still acted irritated. Then she went over to the cashier and loudly complained to him. I get it. I messed up. I apologized. And I won't go back. I've worked in retail for 20 years. Never once complained about a customer within earshot of them.

I have completed 1 year of full yard maintenance with The Ground Guys. They contracted to cut the…read moregrass, maintain the mulch beds, trim the edges, pick up debris, remove leaves, prune bushes, overseed and aerate in the fall, activate and winterize my irrigation system. I also engaged them to install mulch and prep the beds as an added fee. They subcontract the irrigation services, and that company was very good, identifying where previously the system had damage that was not identified by my previous service company (extra fee for the repairs). They worked with me as well to adjust the watering setup to preserve new plantings. The GG's services were delivered like clockwork. They are very efficient and complete in all they do. When blowing debris for clean up, my wife was especially pleased that they blew leaves off of our back deck! That was a plus! Since I work from home, I was aware of their comings and goings and the work was always done well. When I had questions, the crew was very responsive to me and contacted the main office when there was some confusion about a schedule that was worked out very nicely. I see the cost of this service as very similar to and competitive with regular HOA costs for "full service" condo or townhouse subdivisions, but this is performed on my 1/4 acre lot. I find great value in this service from The Ground Guys and plan to renew my contract.
