We usually go to Pleasants Hardware because, well, it's pleasant, but since this store just opened up in a strip mall near us, we decided to check it out. We were sent a mailer for a free key, so we thought we'd get a new key made. While 3 employees were trying to figure out the machine, we piddled around and got a few necessities, lightbulbs, batteries, bird food, etc. The guys working there didn't seem to know their stuff. They were pulling out manuals and we waited for what seemed like an eternity. My hubby was growing a beard waiting! Finally, we were told they didn't have our key, and it wouldn't have been free anyway because it was a car key. The flyer did not indicate any exclusions. Then they said "just house keys", but then they said our house key was different and they didn't do those either. What a joke. We left the items on the counter and left disappointed. Their flyer needs to specify which keys are included in the freebies! Or add the wordage "exclusions apply". Who's your marketing person? As my Yelp friend, John G. commented, they don't have the keys to success! Anyway a few days later, I told my sister that I still had they coupon for a free key, so we thought we'd give them another chance. I don't like to leave one star reviews unless my experience is truly awful, and I like to give businesses an opportunity to redeem themselves before I make a judgment. Sadly, more disappointment ensued. Again, it took 3 people to get the keys made and they cast us aside to assist other customers while we were next in line. We were appalled. Terrible customer service! When we said something about letting people go in front of us, the guy made excuses before he apologized. We took the keys from the pseudo-apologetic employee and when he said "come see us again" another guy said "I doubt they'll be back". That's one thing they got right. I'll stick with Pleasants Hardware, thank you!

This is a rare occasion I find it my obligation to warn potential customers about the poor customer service and sheds Tuff Shed is pedaling. I purchased a 10 x 20 shed from them in the Richmond VA area August 2023, which was the wrong color to start. Four months later December 2023 I discovered a leak where water settled in 2 areas of the floor. It was immediately reported to Tuff Shed, and they sent someone out to support my 5 years warranty January 2024. They placed a door gutter over the two main doors. March 2024 the leak was still happening. April 2024 the leak continued and a crew was sent out to make possible repairs. This process has continued throughout the years with the crews starting to skip scheduled appointments. Here it is June 2025 the leak still exists. Now I can't get anyone out to support my warranty right up to this date 4 Jun 25. The person who sold me the shed no longer responds to my text, emails, and phone calls. To make a very frustrating and extremely long story short, buyers beware! Tuff Shed is becoming a total scam! I had another appointment today where the crew didn't show up and another morning of my time wasted. If they think I'm just going to go away, they are seriously mistaken. I've just started sharing my experience with them.

The prices were amazing. I literally paid $1.24 per foot for the wire where Home Depot was charging $3.78. I saved hundreds of dollars going here. The guys here knew there stuff too. Being a first time amateur electrician I only knew how to run the wire from what I read online. I was also depending on this knowledge to get me through the electrical inspections by Chesterfield County. The manager at Lewis took the time to listen to the problem and tell me he thought it was possible a different pump might not solve it. Almost two months later, a contractor about to swap out the pumps explained what WAS likely causing the problem. Nervy me took the pump back. And Lewis Supply gave me a refund--no complaints, no problem! But then, while we were chatting, I learned that the same pump I'd just returned would have solved a SECOND problem the mason had caused. So after a week of Doh-ing about it, I came back and re-bought the same freaking sump pump. Again, the guys at Lewis Supply asked questions (they knew their audience, by now) and realized I needed an additional brass fitting I would have otherwise left without. Lewis Supply saved me time, money, and much aggravation, and the three gentlemen who waited on me there were all equally patient, pleasant, and helpful. P.S. The new pump was installed yesterday--solving problem two during the install--and immediately started doing its thing, performing like a champ where the old pump had just been sitting there. So MAYbe problem one IS solved by the pump swap alone. Time will tell.
