If they are out of stock in the store it's easy enough to order it online and have it shipped directly to your home. I've always found the Ashland store to be clean and well stocked. I'm very impressed with how healthy and well-maintained the for- sale animals are. Staff seem to be young adults in general, with enthusiasm for their jobs. It's exactly the right mixture of employees available to help but not a ton of pressure to interact until check out if you don't need anyone to find what you stopped in for. I've been there with all of my kids and staff was friendly and kind even though it can be a lot to see excited kids come thru the door (my kids like to run over and stare at the cages and aquariums of pets and fantasize about bringing all of them home). Ashley was great when we first came there to sign the papers, show the shot papers, and pretty much confirming that I was completely fine with her shaving off everything. My dog was a stray puppy that we ended up fostering and fully adopting...she was super matted to a point where my friend and I had been calling her a guy until confirmed by a vet. I knew what I was signing up for. I feel so bad because I dropped off my dog to have her haircut but only made it to the Starbuck's across the street before I received a phone call from Ashley saying that Sadie was starting to get snippy with her when it came to the face area. I came right back to pick Sadie up, where I brought back home a lion instead. I don't mean to LOL, but you would've done the same thing if you saw what I saw...and no, I will not post a picture of the poor fellow. Anyways, Ashley was very professional and informed me of what to prepare for in this situation. I just felt so bad that the outcome and can totally imagine the number of people in the parking lot seeing me bring this lion back to my car. Although the haircut/grooming was not successful, I do plan on coming back here when I'm low on my dog food supply and/or whatever dogs needs. Maybe come back after I have trained Sadie to get familiar with grooming around her face area. I loved Ashley's honesty and honest work. I just feel bad that she handle Sadie's first grooming experience. (Was able to find another groomer who was able to spend more time with my little furbaby when it came to grooming. Sadly, she is no longer a lion and actually looks like a dog now haha.)

I have been taking my dogs to this location for years and after my recent groomer left I tried a…read moredifferent groomer. The first issue is that I booked online with a certain groomer and on the day of they switched groomers on me. They also kept my dog for over 5 hours! Her coat was uneven. Decided to give it an other shot and made another appointment, on the day of, the groomer said my dog had matted hair that would need to be shaved for an additional $10. She has never had this issue so I brought her home and the "matted" hair was easily brushed out. It was matted, just a little knotted. Made an appointment for another day with a certain groomer and today I received a text confirming my appointment with a groomer I don't want and it was not the one I booked online with. I called and they said the groomer I booked with was no longer available on Wednesday so I told the person I would like to make an appointment for another day with the groomer I chose. She proceeded to tell me there would be an additional $10 fee because there was a note that my dog bites. In the four years she has been groomed there not once has anyone ever said that. She is a licker, not a biter with the sweetest temperament and has never seen a stranger she doesn't Iove. I told them to cancel and I would find a new groomer elsewhere. This location loves to switch groomers on you and also add additional fees. Shame on them!

But today I went in tried picking up my dog food which my sister ordered, but the girl in the front was just completely rude. No, greetings or hi how can I help you and as soon as I walked in she completely looked at me different. Regardless I came in walked up and said I needed to pick up my dog food, she asked can I get a last name. Usually I order my food online myself so knowing my sister bought it this time I used my last name and completely forgot she has gotten married recently and changed her last name. So when I gave her my last name the girl in the front looked at me like I'm crazy but I showed her screenshots with the order number and receipt that shows everything. She completely ignored that and asked for the last name so I just called my sister resolved it and gave her the right last name. After I said the last name she just stares at me for a second gives me a weird look and turned to look at her co worker then she kind of slowly turned around as she's hesitant to give me the dog food. When she did give me the dog food nothing was said no thank you or anything. Kind of sad I've been getting my dog food here for about half a year now and this one incident will have me look for another place to get my dog food from. Maybe try hiring people that will have them come back and not feel uncomfortable JUST TO PICK UP DOG FOOD can't imagine walking around asking for help about food with the kind of enthusiasm that the employee gives off. I'm so happy that we stumbled into their store those years ago as we found people who truly care about the well-being and health of your dog (Dog Krazy people are exactly my kind of people!). Honestly, I had no clue about pet nutrition before walking into Dog Krazy and there's still so much to learn. Naively, I had always trusted the Blue Buffalo commercials and what my vet had prescribed was the proper diet for my babies (cause they are supposed to know best, right?). Unfortunately, it's not the case at all. Vets are not 'experts' in nutrition (unless board-certified veterinary nutritionists), only have a semester course dedicated to nutrition and virtually know nothing about it. Food reps encourage veterinarians to sell their 'veterinary only' food, as it was deemed exclusive, and sold with a higher mark up. I was told that the pet food was 'good quality', backed by 'scientific research', and so much better than those grocery store brands. How misled I was. We have since moved our dogs and cats to a diet that consists of a combination of a pre-balanced raw diet and freeze-dried. My cats' itchy and flaky skin disappeared completely and our dogs are all seniors and still going strong! My girl Sadie (the light of my life) is 16 and still will sprint across our backyard towards our neighbors dog! Providing the right nutrition will ensure your dog grows healthy and strong, bestowing long-lasting health and well-being - the greatest gift I could ever give them (and in turn, myself). I also want to point out that I am a photographer, and when one of my dogs needed a pacemaker, she offered to allow me to raise money for donations towards our Abby's surgery when I took photos of customer's dogs with Santa/the Grinch at their Lees Hill location. I will never forget that thoughtful gesture at a time when we were struggling so much with fear of what the future held for our baby girl. To Nancy and Piglet - because of you, so many of us have been able to gain precious time with our loved ones. We could never thank you enough for that.
