Lunch in Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i... After I visited the Social Security Administration Office, I walked across the street to the Honu Açai food truck. It was a wonderfully sunny day with a cool breeze! I sat at a picnic table with bench that had a great view of the customers and the great service by Wes. Wes is very friendly and thoughtful. He would make each order by himself and deliver to vehicles parked on the other side of the road. I ordered the Pono Bowl and substituted banana for kiwi - no extra charge. Wes offered to top it for free with Nutella or Condensed milk if I was an Instagram follower... yes, I am! Nutella, please! The strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi were sweet and fresh! My Bowl was beautiful and filling! The honey and Nutella were perfect compliments to the granola! I'll be back! read more

Took a ride to the Westside. Stopped in at Honu Acai. Wife wanted to get a couple of Acai bowls. Wes the co-owner is friendly and treats his customers with heartfelt service. Today we had our regular bowls. One was the Honu and the other was the Akala. Both were delicious. Notice that he started selling fresh squeezed lemonade in two flavors. Regular lemonade and strawberry lemonade. We tried the strawberry. A little tarty, but it is a thirst clencher. In the area give Honu Acai a try. Enjoy read more

If you're craving something light, refreshing, and actually makes you feel good after, Honu Açaí is one of those spots that never disappoints. And the owner is so nice. While waiting in line I seen him make a couple bowls for a regular customer that called ahead and he dropped it off at their car The vibe is super chill and welcoming -- the kind of place you can swing by after a workout, after the beach, or even just when you're trying to balance out all the plate lunches you've been smashing lately The açaí bowls Their bowls are thick, cold, and perfectly blended -- not watery, not overly sweet, just that smooth and creamy texture you want when you're paying for a legit açaí bowl. The toppings are always fresh and generously portioned, and I love that every bite actually has a good mix of fruit + crunch. Note: it might seemed pricey for the large but trust me it's to share. My wife and I couldn't finish it even with our kids help lol. Toppings & flavor Everything tastes bright and clean. The fruit pops, the granola adds the perfect crunch, and it feels like they really care about quality instead of just making it "Instagram pretty." Why I keep coming back * Consistent quality every visit * Great balance of flavor + texture * Refreshing without being too sugary * Perfect quick meal that doesn't weigh you down If you're looking for a go-to açaí spot that's fresh, filling, and always solid, Honu Açaí is 100% worth it. Easy 5 stars from me. Pro tip: add extra granola + a drizzle of honey if you like that extra crunch/sweet combo 9 Kapolei Regional Park 1077 Manawai St. Kapolei, HI 96707 MON-FRI | 11AM-6PM Across from Kapolei Library read more

Finally I found this cute truck and came:-) It was located by Kapolei library. I went there like 1pm, weekday afternoon. I ordered 2 pono açaí bowls small size. It said every bowl save a sea turtle!!! It was to go and needed lid so the owner put in medium cup for to go cup with lid! I appreciate it. It was simple acai bowl with banana, strawberries and blueberries with honey and granolas. Granolas are chewy type not crunch type. I love simple acai bowl and it was delicious. The owner is very nice!! Definitely I come back. Recommended read more

I feel like the luckiest girl in the world that I got the best Acai on island in my neighborhood. I got a Pono bowl with almond butter and it was quite literally melting in my mouth. My sister got a BYOB with papaya and mango and it was so ono. The guy who works there really stays on his grind and makes sure to give you quality service. I was also talking to him about raving and he's just overall a cool guy. Their instagram is popping so make sure to give them a follow as well for free Nutella topping they also donate some of their proceeds to sea turtles which is awesome!! We ate our bowls at the park which had lots of open space and they also have a bench next to the truck where you can eat your bowl!! read more

If you're in the Kapolei area and craving a refreshing açaí bowl, this neighborhood açaí truck is a hidden gem you don't want to miss! The man running the truck is incredibly friendly and provides excellent customer service. He takes his time to make sure your order is just right and it shows in the quality. The bowls are put together beautifully with a colorful, fresh mix of fruit that makes them almost too pretty to eat (almost!). The açaí base itself is delicious, smooth, flavorful, and perfectly chilled. The menu offers a selection of preset bowls to choose from, and they come in three sizes. Portions are generous, and you definitely get your money's worth. Just note that each additional topping is $1, but they have a solid variety to choose from. It's super convenient with plenty of street parking, and the truck is parked right near Kapolei Park by the Social Security office building, making it an easy spot to swing by if you're in the area. Definitely a go-to for açaí in Kapolei. Support local. read more

Been seeing Honu Acai on Instagram a lot and been meaning to give them a try! I finally did today! Not disappointed. Small trailer right outside of Kapolei Regional park, across from the library. Small, regular, and large bowl options with plenty of topping options. The gentleman working (didn't get his name but Hi!) was so lovely. He made the experience even better and it was nice conversation while waiting for the bowl. I got a regular, which was plenty. Really fresh and flavorful with a bunch of fresh fruit. This Açaí food truck is super cool!!! They said they just recently opened and I wished they would've opened years ago. I've tried açaí bowls from numerous locations throughout Oahu over the years and although many of them are fairly good, this Açaí food truck stood out. They explained the process they use and it seems like they are doing it right. The taste, flavor, and fullness is above reproach!!! They really fill the bowl full and have lots of standard toppings depending on which bowl is ordered and a lot of additional toppings to choose from for mainly $1.00 (a couple of toppings are $2.00). They top each açaí bowl with a green turtle and I asked why they do or what's the meaning and they explained they will be making donations to locate turtle rescue organizations - so cool to know I am helping them to help out. They also explained HONU is turtle in Hawaiian, hence their name. Their food truck also has a Hawai'i License Plate painted on the back to take selfies with and post on Instagram or social media and their trailer is painted a cool color scheme also!! Very neat concept, great attention to detail and such care and enthusiasm they have!!! Also, they have a punch card (I guess maybe a VIP card) and each bowl you order gets a letter on a "turtle" and the 10th bowl is free - what a nice concept to also know they value their regular customers (and I'm sure all customers). They said to follow them on Instagram to know where they are setting up on a daily basis (guess I'll have to get Instagram now). Keep up the great work!!! read more
