Conveniently located next to the mall on piikoi. Some metered parking right outside the restaurant. There are also 3 tables there if you wanna dine in but it's mostly a takeout spot. The fish was fresh albeit not the top cut. I thoroughly enjoyed their freshly made hamachi roll and rainbow roll! The rice and other ingredients were also good. You can place an order online for pick up. I like how they don't close till 8pm (last order 7:30) so you can get their food for dinner, not just for lunch.

Honolulu Sushi Bento

Food was amazing, the service was fantastic. The gentleman behind the counter went out of his way to accommodate my request. Everything is a great price. The ambiance is very nice as well, with it being in close proximity to our hotel whilst maintaining a cozy atmosphere.

Veggie Tempura (3 pcs)

My husband and I ordered Red Dragon roll, California Tempura roll, order of shrimp tempura and an order of vegetable tempura. This place is a mom and pop establishment that has outstanding food. The owners are super nice and obviously love to please patrons with their great food and service. Take out is available but you can also eat in. There's a great selection of food so you're bound to find something you like and the prices are reasonable. Try it!

Menu

Chicken katsu bowl is a go to for someone who loves the crunch of panko. Comes with a bit of imitation crab and drizzle of a savory sauce on a bed of white rice. The spicy ahi roll is a clean and not fishy, good amount of spicy mayo and well cooked rice. This is not a place to pig out. Prices are expected for a small hole in the wall. Everything made to order by the nice old couple that runs this place. Definitely a place to go and check out.

Grilled salmon roll

Ordered from uber eats and not sure if the delivery person refrigerated this or if the roll was cold to begin with? I was expecting a warm roll since the salmon was grilled? But pretty big sized roll and the flavor's good.

Would definitely return, the service was good, there's lots of options, and the food was super tasty. My only note is they go a little heavy on the rice. The rice is super tasty but in the making roll it was a bit heavy! I got a grilled salmon maki and a crunch bowl. They were both amazing.

Ahi poke bento

I came to Honolulu Sushi at 7pm on a Thursday, and it was completely empty. There were only two people working, and the lady in the front was very welcoming. She was very patient as I took a long time to order. My mom and I shared the ahi poke bento, and I got a vegetable hand roll for myself. The ahi poke bento was a really good deal at around $15. It came with 4 nigiri (ahi, salmon, shrimp, tamago), 3 hosomaki (cucumber, takuan, and ahi) and a decent amount of ahi poke and rice. The poke was super fresh, but a little over seasoned for my liking. The vegetable hand roll was okay. It had lettuce, cucumber, avocado, kampyo, and takuan. I wish the vegetables were distributed more evenly because in my first few bites I was just eating lettuce and rice. I did takeout, but there are a few tables inside. The parking lot here is small and confusing to navigate.

The sushi here is delicious and tastes so fresh! It's also pretty affordable too, I got this pack of 8 nigiri for about $15. The spot is a little hidden, it's in an area with other vendors.

Dynamite Maki

Everything we ordered was so yummy!! The service was great; we got our food in less than 10 minutes and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Favorite spot from our trip!

The sushi is always on point at this place. My favorite is the Honolulu bento. It has four nigiris (ahi, salmon, ebi and hamachi) California roll, spicy ahi on rice, shrimp tempura and veggie tempura. I haven't been here in about two years, but the size of the nigiris have shrunk. The rice and the slice of fish is much smaller. They also swapped out my hamachi with tamago without telling me. Did they think that I wasn't going to notice? With everything being said the food was still very good. The chicken katsu salad was decent. The piece of fried chicken was crispy and the meat was tender. They didn't put any dressing on the salad though.

I was looking for a place to order a sushi platter for Valentine's Day and Honolulu Sushi came up as the best place closest to where I work and was able to pick up from. I ordered the maki & nigiri set because that one gives you nigiri plus three sushi rolls which looked like the best one because there was variety. I really enjoyed the nigiri. The hamachi and salmon are always my favorite so I'm glad both were in this platter. The rolls were good but a little too much rice. Platters nowadays are pretty pricey but I'm glad we tried this place instead of going to the same old places I would usually order platters from. During traffic time they are a little hard to get to especially because I was in a rush. But overall, not a bad place. I wouldn't mind trying some other items when I need to buy something for lunch. The parking lot is fairly small. They're located next to the former Like Like Drive-In which is now Yogurstory.

On this latest visit we decided to get the wasabi ahi and the spicy ahi. Both were really good but the wasabi was the one for me. We got the two selection combo, which we shared, but honestly I could've eaten this whole thing on my own no problem. The ahi tasted super fresh and since we got there right when they opened, it was even better. They have a small parking lot with just a handful of spots. Getting there early, parking wasn't a problem at all. They have some tables outside so we were able to eat it there before taking off for the airport. Definitely more of a takeout spot. We didn't spend much time in the area, so it was the last meal we had before taking off to the airport and I couldn't think of a better meal to end an amazing trip. If I was staying nearby, I definitely would've come here more than once!

However, the flavors were balanced, and the freshness was evident from the non-slimy texture and meatiness of the ahi. The salad was a refreshing complement to the poke. The optional toppings (I said yes to all) added more crunch and flavor without overwhelming the star of the dish, aka the lovely tuna. The shop seemed tiny. You order at the front door/window where you can see the menu and the display case of the very few poke options offered. Staff worked quickly, as my order was basically ready after paying. Only outdoor seating directly in front of the shop was provided, but luckily we beat the lunch rush and got two tables for our group. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I'd definitely come back for the poke. Location was in a quiet part of Honolulu that seemed to have some small-town vibes. We parked in the free lot across the street where the McD's was.

While the spicy mayo bowl offered a solid, comforting option with a great kick, the locally caught blue marlin didn't carry much flavor on its own and relied heavily on the sauce. The shrimp was a great addition for variety. Logistics Tip: Don't let the line intimidate you, as it moves incredibly fast and your food is ready in minutes. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.
