I first discovered…read morethis spot in 2016 and have been back multiple times over the years and on our recent trip had the chance to show my partner why I love it so much! On this latest visit we decided to get the wasabi ahi and the spicy ahi. Both were really good but the wasabi was the one for me. We got the two selection combo, which we shared, but honestly I could've eaten this whole thing on my own no problem. The ahi tasted super fresh and since we got there right when they opened, it was even better. They have a small parking lot with just a handful of spots. Getting there early, parking wasn't a problem at all. They have some tables outside so we were able to eat it there before taking off for the airport. Definitely more of a takeout spot. We didn't spend much time in the area, so it was the last meal we had before taking off to the airport and I couldn't think of a better meal to end an amazing trip. If I was staying nearby, I definitely would've come here more than once!

There are only a couple stalls in the front of the store so parking is not the greatest. Before you enter there are a few tables that you can sit and eat your food. Inside, it's pretty small so I can imagine if it gets busy the line can go out the door. Although, the line moved fast and they seemed to be very efficient. You can look at the menu board while you're waiting so you can decide what you want. They have all the poke choices on there and sometimes have specials posted on the glass where you order. I got the Hawaiian style and miso tako. I was hoping the Hawaiian style had a little more taste, but otherwise still good. The miso tako was my favorite! Yummmmm. My boyfriend got the Shoyu poke and spicy tako. His shoyu was really tasty! The only part I didn't care for so much was the long grain rice because it was just a tad bit dry. Otherwise, everything was good. I've tried their poke before when someone brought it to a get together but this was the first time I've made a stop here. Nice staff and very efficient + Ono poke!

However, the flavors were balanced, and the freshness was evident from the non-slimy texture and meatiness of the ahi. The salad was a refreshing complement to the poke. The optional toppings (I said yes to all) added more crunch and flavor without overwhelming the star of the dish, aka the lovely tuna. The shop seemed tiny. You order at the front door/window where you can see the menu and the display case of the very few poke options offered. Staff worked quickly, as my order was basically ready after paying. Only outdoor seating directly in front of the shop was provided, but luckily we beat the lunch rush and got two tables for our group. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I'd definitely come back for the poke. Location was in a quiet part of Honolulu that seemed to have some small-town vibes. We parked in the free lot across the street where the McD's was.

The adorable market, in a gorgeous canyon neighborhood is always on our minds. So fresh. So good. A LITERAL MUST on each and every trip to Oahu. Multiple times, if possible. The Parking sucks, but hey - it's a market on an island. We're fine. We have a tradition of just eating it in our rental car. A tradition I look forward to continuing soon. Only downside: Off-the-Hook, and Ono Seafood RUIN POKE FOR US, back in Los Angeles. Just ain't the same as Hawaii.

The restaurant was pretty cute both outside and inside, and I could tell it draws a good crowd for football games, which is a plus. For the poke bowls, we got the Spicy Shoyu Ahi, Furikake Salmon, and Ultimate. Overall, they were pretty good and decent bowls. I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.

The crunchy garlic ahi was our favorite, great texture, super flavorful, and just really satisfying. The spicy salmon was also solid and hit the spot. We also added on the chicken (kind of like karaage). Not sure if it was just our timing, but it took a long time and ended up a bit overcooked. Ours was on the dry/hard side, so I probably wouldn't get that again. Overall, I'd 100% come back for the poke. The staff was really nice, she let us try a few different flavors and was super helpful. The space is pretty small with only a couple little tables, so it gets busy fast and the line can go out the door, but it's worth it for the poke.
