A certain category of food is really good. Like the Pav Bhaji, Pulav and the Punjabi Thali! The staff is extremely friendly, patient, and kind! It's definitely a popular spot for locals! They had an additional private dining area for larger gatherings. It has lots of options to look through and a few mixes of their own. I went to Honest around 8pm on a Saturday night and it was packed and very loud!!! If you are looking for the whole experience: good service, nice quiet restaurant, and good, this is not the place. It was difficult to hear each other speaking when we were just a feet or two away from each other. The line to order food was almost to the door and after ordering our food, it took around 20 minutes to get our food. We ordered the Dabang Dosa and a Masala Dosa. The Dabang dosa was very interesting and flavorful. I think it had too much cheese on top so I took some off. The Masala Dosa was a bit spicy for my taste, however both were very tasty. The whole menu has everything you can think of and every section of the menu has a fusion/special item. If your looking for a fusion Indian street style food place, this is the place to go, but if your looking for good service or a clean place, this would not be the right place for you. read more

We've ordered from here several times in the past and the food was fine. This time however both of us got food poisoning. Still suffering from it a day later. The food tasted off. The paneer dry. We've been to Honest several times, and have sampled a few different items from the menu. Their Indo- Chinese options are fantastic, as are their chaats. The veg Manchurian and Hakka noodles both are spiced really well, and are our favorites. Last time I also tried a sandwich, with chutneys and vegetables. With the papdi chaat they gave a few different chutneys including a spicy one, along with the curd and toppings. They do a great job of packaging the chaats separately so that it doesn't get soggy for take-out orders. I'm deducting a star because sometimes their customer service isn't the friendliest. read more

Masada dosa as no flavor.. the owners son is going around saying covid is a hoax and laughing at people who ask their staff to follow their own "wear a mask when not at tables" and "safety first" signs. He laughed and said "that's a lie, covid is a hoax" . the owners son laughed and repeated "it's a hoax" as people left. Today i went to honest and ordered panipuri, samosa chaat and aloo mutter cheese sandwich. Panipuris paani was sooooo good and puris were filled with enough potato mixture and everything seemed fresh. Samosa chaat was bit spicy but people who love spice are going to love it. We went for dinner on a Saturday. Ordered, as standard procedure. Food started coming out, but only 1 of the 3 drinks ordered came out. We asked and waited patiently. More food came out. Asked again, we're told to wait. ..... and wait..... and wait..... The drinks were mint lemonade, btw. Such arduous work, starting a blender! We asked at least 4 times before we just tapped out. Couldn't each much of the food because of how spicy it was and remember, no drinks. We gettin ready to go, and they come up to us saying they accidentally refunded our card, and needed us to pay again. Um, come again? We struggled to eat, left food behind because we just couldn't eat it due to the spice level, part of the group already walked out because we were DONE and y'all still ain't bring drinks out, and y'all want us to pay you? I'm not sure where they learned to de-escalate situation, but getting in the faces of angry customers with their drinks sayin "here you go, your drinks" as they're getting ready to leave is not how you make a point. Went here on a Saturday night at 8pm and got to have my dinner at 10pm because it was that busy! Authentic Indian street food place, worth every penny spent here. I recommend it to all lovers of Indian cuisine, and to anyone wanting to try original Indian food. This isn't a fine dining restaurant and definitely not pleasant to enjoy a quiet meal. Ordered food for more than $250.00 dollars. Food came in I would say in timely manner until they got really busy and started loosing the track of orders and started getting delayed. They missed one of our dishes and after mentioning it three time they said someone must have ate it at your table. REALLY??? When asked again they said on our side we have it "CROSSED OFF WHICH MEANS IT WAS MADE" but the point is it was never delivered to our table and my brother-in-law ended up staying hungry as apparently SOMEONE ON OUR TABLE ATE IT. They brought other dish three times that we only ordered one of. Wonder who "CROSSED OFF" that one. All in all will probably never go back again. read more

This is a delicious Indian Restaurant in Hillcroft. There are many options on the menu but we decided to get the Bahubali Sandwich and Dabangg Dosa(named from movies in Bollywood). It had a very nice presentation for social media and was fresh. The one thing that did make it subpar was to other Gujarati/South Indian restaurant was the pricing of the items. We came in for the pav bhaji which was decent but not the best in Houston by any stretch. The chaat was subpar as was the Chinese. The most striking was the pathetic service we had to endure. We weren't warned about the delay to our Chinese orders and when asked for a refund, they wouldn't give me because they ran out of change. I love the fusion twist this restaurant offers. Vegetarian but a thumbs up, I ordered the bahubali sandwich which was really good. The different types of chutneys gave it a great taste, it had a layer of cheese on top... yes please!!!! I also tried the the Chinese bhel ( must try) it was delicious, the sauce that the noodles were tossed in had a great flavor. HONEST is the best name this restaurant could have, because I HONESTLY feel the ambiance, the warmth, the aroma, and the UNITY that is instantly reflected by the patrons! VEGETARIAN is the cleanest form of consumption for the body and the soul. RESTAURANT? Why cook at home? I was instantly and felt like I was PERSONALLY welcomed by the lovely cashiers, by the diligently working staff as well as by the Management. Since my first visit with my husband, about one month ago, I have returned to HONEST with two of my friends, another visit with two more of my friends from Miami, then with close neighbor/friends, we were a party of five, then I catered an AMAZING JOYOUS DINNER PARTY, wherein my guests were fascinated praising the cuisine, and most recently, yesterday with my husband again, for the Rice Pulav, the Samosas and the chick peas dish, and for dessert the Coffee Ice Cream delight!
