    Chicken 65
    Ariam E.

FIVE STARS ! We have a usual spot to get byriani, but today we decided to try a new one and it was a GREAT decision! We went right at noon expecting that, for being lunch time , it was going to be packed, but fortunately it wasnt; the ambiance was mellow and the music just perfect. Service was OUTSTANDING! Our server, Vino, was wonderful, knowledgeable, great recommending according to our cravings and spicy levels. So sweet and polite. We ordered 4 different dished and ALL OF THEM were incredibly flavorful, tender, and portions were very generous. First we ordered Chicken 65 as an appetizer... very very delicious! The tenderness of the chicken and the spices of the marinade were a BOMB ! Rather spicy if you dont have a medium tolerance level. We got also the butter chicken with rice; very flavorful and the sauce had a perfect thickness. Not spicy at all and the chicken was BUTTER tenderrrrr The spicy chicken byriani was THE BEST! Indian style byriani i have ever tried! The cardamom was so fragrant, the chicken melt in your mouth and the rice so fluffy! DEFINITELY a must try. Ultimately we tried the tikka grilled chicken ... be ready for an explosion of flavors! Gingery, limey, with a hint of charcoal. Super juicy and fork tender!! Incredible! Overall this is a 5 out of 5!! Must go

Chicken Tikka Kabobs on a hot sizzling plate

I heard of Biriyani Factory in Gandhi District but never set foot here. I happened to be in the area after a business meeting and OMG I was in heaven. We ordered some signature dishes as my friend Cathy took care of the talking with the waiter. I was clueless when it comes with ordering Indian food. I am not into spicy hot. So, she ordered all mild dishes with spicy sauces on the side. Afterwards, as I was studying their menu, I found it's quite well organized. I'll definitely pay more attention next time when I return. I love how Chicken Tikka Kabobs was served on a hot sizzling plate and the aroma filled the restaurant. The Boneless Lamb Biriyani was so delicious. The email was so tender and rice was flavorful with the meat. Each table has sets of utensils and a bottle of water. I guess it was due to CoVid era, bottled water was time saving measures. I like the service here. Well attentive. I shall return to get my own experience with more personalized dishes.

    Goat Curry
    Krystal B.

I have ordered from here a few times. The curry goat had great flavor, but it was a bit greasy. The Palak Paneer was okay, a bit watered down. Garlic naan was great per usual. I appreciate that the meals automatically come with rice here. I've tired several dishes including butter chicken, and chicken tikka. Both delicious.

Wow. The best biryani I've ever had. The style is Hyderabad. The rice was so light and fragrant and the chicken was spiced and cooked to perfection. I could not stop eating everything! The whole dish was only about 11$ too! Our server was so kind and the owner was so awesome asking us about how we liked the food. All of this and more is why I cannot say enough good things about this place. Definitely bringing my husband here!

    Lunch Thali featuring Chicken
    Candy C.

We were greeted right as we walked in... we asked about the lunch Thali and we told it was only available for dine in only. So we decided to eat in. We were literally the only people there. We ordered medium spicy. I enjoyed the chicken biryani, the curry and the dessert was delicious. Spice level was just right for me. And I definitely did not leave hungry. Overall, I thought it was a good bargain and I would come back. The parking for the complex is very busy. The guy at the counter was wearing a mask and he was also the greeter and server.

Entire order of chicken curry had 1 small piece of chicken and tasted stale

Am surprised to see this place has avg above 4 star rating, be aware of portion sizes if you order through delivery the are complete scam and ripoff and both biryani and chicken curry tasted stale and there was just 1 small piece of chicken for entire chicken curry and it tasted like made from left over mirchi ka salan that comes complimentary with biryani. Overall will not recommend or go back. It's shame because of restaurants like this will have negative influence on other Indian restaurants.

    Gulab Jamun
    Ryleigh F.

The food was delicious! The chicken 65 had the perfect spice level and so much flavor. The 2 orders of garlic naan was hands down the best I have had, it was crispy on the bottom and soft on top. We finished with Gulab Jamun for dessert and I could eat 3 or 4 orders of that stuff, seriously delicious. The man who took our order was so friendly, welcoming, and thorough when getting our order, ensuring we got what we wanted how we wanted it. Everything we ordered was less than $25.We will absolutely be returning and I would recommend this place if you want good service and delicious food for a very reasonable price.

    Onion Pakoda
    Camille L.

This place is located on the second floor of the strip mall. Top notch spot for biryani and they have good veg options. Onion pakoda is also a stand out! The batter is spiced well and it's light and crunchy. It goes really well with the chutneys. We tried the veg dum biryani and it was very tasty. It had all the layers of flavor you'd expect from a good biryani.

    Chicken Dum Biryani (Hyderabad style)
    Rahul G.

Was craving biriyani on a Wednesday night and saw that this place was reviewed well. We got the Chicken Dum Biriyani and Chicken 65. The chicken quality was excellent; it tasted tender and fresh. The restaurant was clean and the owner was so nice. Definitely will be coming back!

Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. The first thing we noticed when we entered the restaurant was a strong, unpleasant smell. Since we had specifically gone there to try the food, we still decided to dine in. We ordered chai, Mysore masala dosa, chole bhature, and samosas. None of the dishes really stood out. The food was just average; not terrible, but definitely not worth making the drive for. The chai in particular had almost no flavor, and we couldn't even finish it. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially given the hype. There are many better options in the Katy/Richmond area where you can find great food in a much more pleasant dining environment. The smell inside the restaurant was also concerning, as it raises questions about hygiene and food safety standards. For context, we visited on a Saturday morning around 11:30 AM, so it wasn't late in the day or close to closing time. Based on this experience, I wouldn't prefer to visit again.

The Dahi Puri was excellent as always. This time, the potato filling for the dosa was served on the side instead of inside, so you scoop it into the dosa yourself. Different, but still delicious and very satisfying. The restaurant is in a great location near Hillcroft in the Gandhi District, surrounded by other Indian restaurants and grocery stores. Service is friendly, prices are reasonable, and there's plenty of parking in the large shared lot. A solid spot for dosas, puris, and quick Indian bites.

Their longevity (#1) of a near half century is nothing short of impressive, earning a nostalgic place in the hearts of many Houston diners, a good number of whom trace their first Indian cuisine experiences at this very location. While I do wish their success, it's hard not to point out minor mishaps in different aspects of the overall restaurant experience, which include: :: Awkward stares from the staff as they hover or stand in the middle of the room. It's understandable that they're monitoring to help where needed, but even then I will have to flag them down for water, napkins, or the bill. :: Buffet maintenance. They're semi-quick to replenish, but extremely slow at maintaining the cleanliness. Splatter from the daal makhani, a serving spoon not returned to the same serving tray, or even customers forgetting to close the bins at the dessert station (#2) could all be mitigated by a designated person keeping it tidy. :: Food quality. The tandoori chicken has been dry, the saag paneer could be creamier, and chicken tikka masala has had their bland days. Even the naan can be a bit too dry at times. Thankfully I've fared better with the chana masala and paneer makhani. I would also steer clear of their fruit punch. :: Decor is dark and dated. It still reminds me of a place that is stuck in time, which for most experiences are usually my favorite. The natural lighting during lunch alleviates this slightly, but the dinner hour makes this place feel like eating in an older hotel lobby. The vibes are most definitely challenging. :: Foodflation. Another price hike in the last year brings the buffet price to just under $22. While it's a nice jump from what it was previously, it does leave me wishing for more, especially when the prices keep climbing. ___________ (#1) 46 years. Cons -We went during lunchtime and although we didn't have to wait for a table, it was crowded at the buffet area when getting food, and at times people take a longer time getting food. -The non-veg was a bit disappointing as the taste was a bit bland, especially the curry types which should be bursting with flavors. -They offered a special fish dish but it has bones which I don't prefer. -They did not have my favorite puri when we were there! The inside isn't giant -- on the smaller side, with a lot of tables packed in, plus a couple of larger ones for bigger parties. Pro Tip: The spice level is was Medium/low, so if you are expecting some very spicy dishes you need to ask for them. Frontier Beef Karhai, $19.50 -- 3.5/5. Himalayan fried chicken, $24.99 -- 4.5/5. Nice crispy batter, prepared a little differently than you're used to. It's skinless, bone-on chicken that's been filleted off the bone a bit, so instead of a plain drumstick, it's more like a filleted drumstick, with the breast filleted off, with a little bone left on to hold it together. The chicken was super tender and moist and the batter was crunchy. There's a bit of an Indian flavor profile, but not overwhelming -- I was actually hoping for a little more spice, kick, and heat. Still, very good chicken, and I'd try it again. Rice, 3.5/5. Solid side, but nothing spectacular. I've had much better. Garlic naan, $9 -- 3.5/5. Solid, big piece of naan. Would get it again. Service was quick. The food took a little while to come out, mostly because of the fried chicken -- though we ordered that right when we sat down, then ordered the rest about ten minutes later as we looked over the menu. If you've lived in Houston all your life, I highly suggest giving this place a try. It's one of those Houston staples that's been around, and some of the things they do are really good and a little different. That said, from a value perspective I think a place like Aga's outshines them just slightly. I've had many of the same curries at Aga's and find them a touch better, and a slightly better value. In the end, it's a totally fine place for takeout or to sit down and eat give it a try. Would recommend, and would return.

These are some of the best drinks I've ever had at any type of Indo-Pak restaurants in Houston. The mint lemonade was definitely in a league of its own. We didn't go for any appetizers, just went straight in to the entrées. The Chicken Hara Masala Supreme. Just wow, chef's kiss. Think cut up chicken thighs in a green curry that almost has a salsa like mouth feel with vegetables. Absolutely decadent. The Steak Tikka. Round of applause. I overheard the owner telling other tables that it's the best steak in Houston. I'll say it's the best steak I've ever had at an Indo-Pak restaurant. The steak was super tender it had that famous Tikka style smokiness. The Butter Chicken. Pretty damn solid. The gravy was silky and perfectly textured. They also use chicken thighs for this, which makes it even better. The Saag Paneer. It was all right, I've had better at other places, but still super solid. The Paneer was fresh and was great on all the various naans we got. For the naan, we just got the garlic and the butter naan. They are absolutely great when they come straight out of the tandoor oven, but I found that they get a little too hard if not eaten quickly. I'm sure they would reheat really well. We also tried the spicy rocket naan and it decent. I would just stick with garlic and butter. The only miss for me was the Mutton Biryani. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid biryani dish, but I've had better that had a little bit more flavor. The mutton was very tender, but the opportunity was making the rice a little bit less clunky. I see a lot of reviews with people hating on things like service or area. Let me just say we had no issues with service. The service was top-notch. We spent $222 with tip across three people. A little pricey but totally worth it.
