You can't go wrong with the classics and India's gets them very right. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with friendly staff and a grand yet comfortable interior. Every time I order to-go, the food is ready on time and still fresh! I loveeee the saag paneer, malai kofta, chicken tikka, naan, tandoori and kheer! While having a rich and authentic taste, the spice level is not overpowering for people like me who like it mild haha. The dessert is sweet and refreshing, a perfect finish.

A well known lunch buffet destination in the heart of the Galleria, India's is always teetering on the love it or hate it spectrum. They're solid on their best days, but bordering a train wreck on their worst, it's never obvious where they'll slide to on any given day. They've been consistent at being inconsistent, and yet I still find myself here for the occasional work lunch or solo meal. Their dedicated parking is an immediate sell and it's rarely ever full. The same goes for the dine-experience, which has always been casual and low key each time I've been here. Lunch usually has more of an atmosphere and dinner is a little less lively. The interior is dated with extremely dark carpet and dimly lighting throughout. Those mirror slivers along the wall are fun but the restrooms are not. (#1) The lunch buffet is the real draw. Despite so much of their business resorting to takeout, I would venture this is the best version one will find of them. The spread is a good daily spread, with a handful of meat options and plenty of vegetarian ones. It's not particularly well maintained, as evidenced by the countless splatter along the edges even during opening time. I appreciate the creamy sag paneer with chunks of cheese and semi-runny spinach. While the tandoori chicken is a tad drier than I like, I appreciate that they've not skimped on the chunks of meat. The chicken tikka masala, daal makhani, and lamb rogan josh are average at best, but are saucey enough to keep most folks interested. I was pleasantly surprised with the navaratan korma and chana masala, as they're both light with a kick, but the gobi manchurian could definitely use some work. I always appreciate the notion of tableside naan, even if it comes across as a bit dry and in serious need of butter. Someone needs to cover up the desserts or the fruit flies will eventually find their way in there. At $18 for the variety, I think things could certainly be worse. What isn't working for them is the service and management. The guys standing around the room can get a bit pushy at times and their snippiness with customers coming in can be a turnoff. Speaking of a turnoff, the website has prices different from the menu. Definitely not cool. Ultimately I still think there is potential here. Some staff training with interaction could probably be utilized and the place could definitely use a makeover. Most other places can get away with this if the food was so good that it didn't matter. Unfortunately, that's just not the case. __________ (#1) Hold it. Wait it out.

This used to be my favorite place in the early 2000. But then Houston expands with more options to choose for Indian cuisine and I haven't been back for a long time. They now serve buffet for lunch at about $20 and a là carte but the menu price is about $20 too. I'm not a big fan of buffet so I was willing to pay the butter chicken from the menu but I asked the server if it comes with naan ,he said it didn't come with anything. That's odd bcoz at other restaurants they do serve with naans. Therefore I decided to eat the buffet options. Food wasn't that great anymore and services definitely was awful. There were a lot of servers but not friendly. They all looked so grouchy like they have to be there to work, so weird. To top this is a buffet so literally they don't have to do much of services. The place used to be packed and now it looks so empty. Hopefully the owner will look into it and makes some changes since the competition is quite strong these days. I'm a bit disappointed bcoz I brought 2 friends with me and bragging about how wonderful was in the early 2000.

Soda are no refillable. No fizzle. Expensive considering it's a fountain drink and not a good one at that. Small too.

I was craving for Indian food and saw that India's is supposed to have the best lunch buffet and offered a variety of popular dishes. It was not very busy when I came in. There were people sitting at the booths by the windows but empty otherwise. Ordered soda and found out later they charge per glass (non-refillable). It wasn't even good with no fizz. They didn't put ice on it so not cold too. Suggest they provide a can of cold soda with ice instead. They do have ice tea that is refillable. My first plate consists of butter chicken, saag paneer, fried onions and tandoori chicken. Thought the fried onions were good esp with chutney. The butter chicken sauce was tasty but the chicken itself was dry. The tandoori chicken was dry too and would have like it with more spices. The saag paneer was different from what I remember... thought it should have more taste to it. Also tried the rest of the entrees. Lamb curry has a tasty sauce. Lamb was not chewy but not tender. There was a cabbage dish and another chicken dish which were ok. I like the sauces more than the meats or vegetables. They served fresh naan on the table. Ended the meal with mango pudding and rice pudding. Wish they had fresh fruits or traditional dessert like gulab jaman. Overall, if you want a variety of Indian food to try, this place is ok but I have tasted better. They displayed a lot of the awards on one wall. Maybe they do better for dinner? I'll let others be the judge.

Manchurian cauliflower not on the menu

Food - average Indian food in houston, average price. This is my first time here and we ordered a few dishes the servers recommended including the chicken tika masala, lamb Rogan josh, Manchurian fried cauliflower, chaat, naan, rice. The curry needs a little more depth in the flavor. Meat wasn't particularly tender. Wouldn't recommend the Manchurian cauliflower it's like orange chicken or general Tso chicken but cauliflower version and it's not even crispy. Service - friendly Ambiance - nice clean organized, love the booth areas

The quality of the food was better than most Chinese buffets, and they had a lot of variety. I wouldn't expect this gem way over here, especially with a crazy Ross store nearby. The plus side (#1) is the abundant parking, practically guaranteed seating, and options that skew on the more authentic side of things. The downside is knowing the limitations that come with affordably priced buffets and quality of food. The official entrance is from the parking lot between Vinh Hoa (#2) and the massage. Plenty of folks will also enter from the back, which is through the Dynasty Plaza mall and takes a bit longer. It then becomes a question of stairs (parking lot) versus an escalator (mall). At $18-24 (lunch to holiday pricing), the prices aren't too steep for AYCE food. Kids 3 and under eat free but are otherwise subject to $13-14 per person. Non-water drinks are $2.39 a person, so definitely get as many refills as possible. The place is as massive on the inside as it looks on the outside. Window side seating offers an elevated view of Chinatown, but don't focus too much on the excessive finger prints along the windows. The seating is so abundant that almost any size group should have zero problem finding space. There is also a large private room that is ideal for special functions, equipped with TVs and a sound system. Food wise, it's a hodgepodge of all food types. Here's a breakdown in the stations: Mongolian Grill / Noodle Soup: This is a combo station where one can customize their stir fry. I had decent results with lo mein, an egg, some vegetables with beef slices. The person cooking drizzled sesame oil, soy sauce seasoning, and water and each time it took around 3-5 minutes. The noodle soups are a bit more standard but the options here are the noodle options are wonton noodle, beef noodle, seafood noodle, and beef pho. I wouldn't recommend ordering the latter. Fruits & Salads / Cold Dishes / Seafood: A standard selection of cold fruit salads, which is unsurprisingly the least exciting part of the buffet. I'm impressed with the variety of the sushi on the seafood end, but the presentation and fish quality is extremely mediocre. It won't deter most folks, since most people perceive value by loading up on the rolls. When in doubt, shoot for the sashimi. Entrees: With the exception of the eyesore dim sum and standard fried food selection, there is a solid selection of hot food. The weekend offerings is probably the best they'll have, but some standouts here included the thin ribeye slices, a solid mapo tofu with a kick, well seasoned clams, fish slices, pork spare ribs, a very solid steamed fish, and several varieties of fried noodle. Folks might enjoy the Chinese-American selection, which should have all the classics (sesame chicken, beef with broccoli, marinated chicken wings, etc.) and then some. Serviced as a decent job of clearing tables, offering water refills, cleaning the food counters, and replenishing empty trays. I appreciate some small touches, such as their multicolored plates for different selections, bathrooms, and well marked labels. Buffet lovers who are in it for the thrill of copious portions will likely enjoy what's available here. __________ (#1) Aside from one's waistline. (#2) https://www.yelp.com/biz/vinh-hoa-houston
