Ordered momos and veggie fried rice through Doordash. The food was great and side sauces were yummy.

So if you're thinking of trying Momo House, you absolutly should! Pulling up to the parking lot, I realized that this is kind of like a hole in the wall situation - somewhat of a sketchy area if you go in the evening. But for some reason, that's why I knew it would be good lol! The person that took my order was very friendly - she suggested the chili momo and mentioned that it was really popular since it had a sweet and spicy flavor, but I ended up going with the jhol chicken momo and it was soooo delicious! The price is decent as well for the amount of food. The sauce is just the right amount of spicy and fragrant. I pretty much started drinking it toward the end lol. And the dumplings - so juicy and the chicken - just wow. Tasted super fresh - I feel like the person who made this made it with love. I don't know how else to describe it. Pure joy!! I can't wait to come back and try something else on the menu, although I'm not sure I'll be able to resist getting the jhol momo again!

My sister and her friends really like this place, so she wanted to introduce it to me. This was my first time trying Nepalese food, and it was good. However, I cannot see myself coming back to this place because some dishes were quite unpleasant and the staff were not the friendliest. Our waitress was not very helpful when we were trying to decipher the menu with dishes that were unfamiliar to us. But, at least the food came fast and they gave us lots of water for some people in my party that couldn't handle spice. Even though there were redeeming dishes that I would encourage people to order, I wouldn't find myself coming back to this place. We ordered lots of dishes and my favorites were the Goat Thali Set and the Chicken Aloo Jimbu. The goat curry in the thali set was very flavorful with super tender goat. The chicken and potatoes in the Chicken Aloo Jimbu were seasoned with delicious spices and was cooked perfectly. It was so good we had two orders of it! We also ordered a variety of buffalo momos, which were good but didn't surprise me in any way. I felt as though they could've been seasoned more on the inside, but the wrappers were good. The Buffalo Chili Momos were the best because they had that extra chili sauce to make up for the flat flavors inside. A dish I really disliked was Tauko Fry. The actual goat meat was fine, but the seasoning on it made it taste almost spoiled. Each of us had a bite and didn't touch it for the rest of dinner.

Food- 10/10 The food quality hasn't changed since I came here almost 3 years ago. Superb! Ambiance- It's a simple set up and that's all you need. There are Nepalese decorations along the walls. Service- 10/10 The young woman serving us was the only available but she was always around and was really sweet. Please come check this place out. I don't think enough people know about it and food is great. I highly recommend the Chilly Momo, Jhol Momo and the Veg Chow Mein.

Legit Nepalese food, this is the reason why Houston is why I believe Houston is a top tier food destination in the world. There's just so much diversity in food, and Momo House certainly contributes to that culinary melting pot. There's quite a bit to choose from, from momos (dumplings) in more clear broths, to momos in curries, to noodles. There's a mix of meat and vegetarian options. Prices are very fair! The spicy sauce they provide on the side packs a PUNCH, highly recommend stirring in a little at a time. I got the chicken thukpa, which was like a rich chicken noodle soup, pretty healthy and flavorful. Decent amount of parking available. I would say two areas of improvement: the TV volume was a little higher than preferred, and if there was a way to make the menu a little more helpful for those not familiar with Nepali food. We asked the waitress who was nice enough to explain, but we limited the number of questions we had. Given the spread of possible options, more details (or photos) would've helped. I guess I'll just have to go again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My Nepalnese friends told me "we've been wanting to take you here to try this place." When I saw that Momo House was located on Hilcroft (area known for good ethnic food), I had high hopes that this place will be good. I usually don't venture to this area. Since I arrived on my own in the evening time, I did my best to pay attention to the surroundings. Upon arrival, I find it in a rundown center. The lights on the outside sign were not all on. This place comes across as a hole in the wall type of place. Parking was easy though. I trusted my friends so they ordered everything in the photos. However, there is a barcode on the table that will get you to their menu. Food came out pretty quickly and more of a rolling delivery. Food wise, here's what we got and my thoughts on each: 1) Buffalo with Beaten Rice - This was my first time trying Water Buffalo. It reminded me of beef. The seasoning was great. It is a bit on the dry side so almost like a jerky. The beaten rice was new to me too. It reminded me of oatmeal. The rice together with the Buffalo jerky was good. 2) Chicken Skewers - It looked good when it came out so I had high hopes for these. I thought it was okay. The sauce was a bit more on the spicy side. 3) Chili Buffalo Momo - These are fried dumplings with Water Buffalo as the stuffing. I've only had steamed momos so this style was new for me. I loved the chili sauce that it made tossed in. Their chili sauce is like a Chinese sweet and sour sauce cooked with bell peppers and onions. 4) Chili Soybean - My favorite dish! It's in the same sauce as the Chili Buffalo Momo. The soybean reminded me of fried tofu. I could kill this whole plate on my own and really think it would pair well with some white rice. 5) Chicken Momos - These are steamed dumplings with chicken as the filling. There were two dipping sauces. It's a good standard momo. There were a few times when the heat got to me and glad the server refilled my drink when she did. Overall, everything was tasty for the most part. I also enjoyed trying some more authentic Nepalese dishes as well. Looking forward to coming back.

I've rarely encountered a dumpling a didn't like, and after learning about momos, it became my mission to try some! Nepalese style cuisine is heavily influenced by the close neighboring countries of India, Bangladesh, and China. This nondescript restaurant is located in a strip center. Once seated, our waitress was super nice and recommended the chow mein as a popular dish to try, but we were set on momos for the evening. You're able to choose your filling of either chicken, water buffalo, or veg. Then you choose the preparation style of your momos. I was originally going to order the water buffalo momo in the chili preparation style, but the server recommended trying them steamed, so we could really taste the flavor of the traditional water buffalo filling. We went along with the suggestion and also ordered some chicken momos prepared with chili at level three spicy. While we waited, I noted the thali and various Chinese dishes also available, not to mention a couple of curries. There's certainly more exotic offerings as well. The steamed water buffalo momos arrived first, and oh man were they juicy! The earthy seasoning worked really well the meat! The accompanying red chili sauce had a definite kick to it, but of course I asked for more. The chili chicken momos came fried and tossed with onion and peppers along with the fiery and bold sweet sour and spicy chili sauce. Level three was definitely hot enough for me, but my friend didn't find them all that spicy. Both styles of momos were delicious in different ways! We both enjoyed the experience! Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy dumplings! Some of the big minuses for me was the bathroom could really use some work, and the menu would be better with descriptions of some items. Speaking of the menu, it's found through a QR code at each table. No paper menus are available. This place definitely carries a bit of a hole on the wall vibe. Still worth a visit despite these details.

Our 2nd visit here. The first time we stopped by, it was almost closing time so only got to try few items(the veg fried rice, piro alu and veg soup momo). But the food was so good, we had to go back to try more. This time we ordered the other types of Momos and they taste amazing. My favorite were the Jhol momo. Here is an overview of what each momo is, since the menu isn't very descriptive. - Steamed momo: regular steamed momos - Kothey momo: steamed momos that are then pan fried - Chili momos: Fried momos that are tossed in a spicy chili sauce along with onions and bell peppers - Jhol momo: steamed momos dipped in traditional creamy soup/sauce - Soup momo: steamed momos dipped in watery thukpa kind of soup - We also tried the veg thali and Alu mushroom Jimbo. Both were delicious. The veg thali doesn't come with any bread like in Indian meals. It has rice, Dal, a paneer curry, one dry curry, green vegetable, chutney, papad, yogurt, pickle and ghee. Unlike the soup momos and chilli momos, the meal was kinda mild and good way to beat the rest of the spice. For the drinks we had the lassi and galli (masala) soda. And both were pretty good. The ambience is not too fancy, but neat and clean. And the service was excellent.

Delicious taste of Nepal. The vegetarian momo steamed dumplings are so good with a spicy dipping sauce. For a variety of dishes, order the vegetarian thali. So many great dishes served with a generous portion of basmati rice, a soup, lentils, a green vegetable and a sweet yogurt. Easy to order on line, but you have to call in to order the thali.

Very good! It was my first time and I'll definitely be back. The chili chicken dumplings (momo) were so good. Very rich in chili powder flavor. I can take spicy and we got 4/5 spice and it wasn't super spicy. But super flavorful. Service was good too. Will return

I am so happy we came by to try Nepalese food at Momo House this week. My boyfriend & I shared the chicken chow mein and chilly water buffalo momos. They were both delicious! The flavor of the chow mein was very unique, and the sauce on the side gave it a spicy kick. I loved the chilly water buffalo momos! The flavor of the sauce was my favorite part. We both didn't feel like the water buffalo itself had a very strong taste. The momos came with onions & peppers as well. Our waitress was very nice & made sure that the spice level was okay for us. I can't wait to go back to try more of their momos!

A group of us one for dinner and we tried several different dinners and shared them amongst us. We were seated quickly and they accommodate our group of 10 easily, we placed our order in the food, came out, reasonably quickly. The main course started with a salad, and we ordered both garlic and buttered nan. Our main courses included mahkani chicken, vindaloo, fish, chicken biryani, spinach paneer, momo dumplings, and several orders of King of Texas platter. The flavors were wonderful, and when we ordered a few of us, ask them to dial up the spice, but be careful. The service was very good and attentive, and the restaurant was relatively quiet from noise. Some restaurants are just super noisy, and TAJ is not. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, I know you'll enjoy this restaurant.

That being said, this is probably my favorite Nepali/Indian place in this area (albeit there are only a few). Here's my opinion on all the dishes we ordered on our most recent stop: Fish Pakora: Nothing too crazy, but still good and well seasoned Piro Chicken Wings: Really good flavor, but way too spicy for my family personally (we are not crazy on spice, though) Goat Tandoori Momo: Really good, no notes Chicken Makhani: Really rich in flavor, incredibly buttery Lamb Handi Curry: Amazing as well, though enjoyed Makhani more Chili Lamb Jerky: Probably the weakest dish we got. Just not my vibe and tasted like I was eating bones the whole time. Shrimp Noodle Soup: Accidentally got this dish, but not a disappointment in the slightest. Probably my favorite bite of the night. Shrimp Stir Fry Noodles: Also incredible with lots of standout spices added in. Garlic Naan: Never misses Chicken Biryani: So much depth of flavor, went perfectly with the meat dishes we ordered. Service/Ambiance- Great, with not much to complain about. Music was a little bit too loud considering how calm the restaurant's atmosphere would be otherwise. Servers were great and speedy even though it was late and not too crowded. Great place. There's not much more to add. Himalayan Taj is seemingly simple with no flashy presentation in how it's designed, but that allows great food to really shine. Despite my issues with a few of the dishes, this place is really worth a visit whether you're by yourself or with a large group.

Think cut up chicken thighs in a green curry that almost has a salsa like mouth feel with vegetables. Absolutely decadent. The Steak Tikka. Round of applause. I overheard the owner telling other tables that it's the best steak in Houston. I'll say it's the best steak I've ever had at an Indo-Pak restaurant. The steak was super tender it had that famous Tikka style smokiness. The Butter Chicken. Pretty damn solid. The gravy was silky and perfectly textured. They also use chicken thighs for this, which makes it even better. The Saag Paneer. It was all right, I've had better at other places, but still super solid. The Paneer was fresh and was great on all the various naans we got. For the naan, we just got the garlic and the butter naan. They are absolutely great when they come straight out of the tandoor oven, but I found that they get a little too hard if not eaten quickly. I'm sure they would reheat really well. We also tried the spicy rocket naan and it decent. I would just stick with garlic and butter. The only miss for me was the Mutton Biryani. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid biryani dish, but I've had better that had a little bit more flavor. The mutton was very tender, but the opportunity was making the rice a little bit less clunky. I see a lot of reviews with people hating on things like service or area. Let me just say we had no issues with service. The service was top-notch. We spent $222 with tip across three people. A little pricey but totally worth it.
