Food: Steamed chicken khao mun gai (5/5), my husband ordered from another restaurant. I was really happy with my food! Chicken was really good, cucumber was nice, rice was cooked to perfection and seasoned well, and soup was yummy. Hubby was really happy with his food too. Service: 4/5, really interesting. You order from the kiosk, the kitchen makes it in the back and when your order is ready, you get your food from a locker (a code is texted to your phone). I prefer the human interaction aspect of a restaurant but if you don't mind minimal contact -eat here. There was some seating inside and outside but this place is really more of a order and pick up style. read more

Me and my husband really loved this restaurant. But our experience earlier this week has us second guessing this establishment. We waited 45 minutes for our food as well as 5 other people waited. When we received our food we noticed each box (we ordered 4) had less food than the other and when my husband went to bite down on his food he almost chocked on foil. I reached out to support got a refund. I genuinely don't think the good can out weigh the bad in this situation. This restaurant is not going to go far with poor management and poor restaurant hygiene. read more

They are apart of a ghost kitchen and specialize in chicken khao mun gai. This is like the Thai version of hainanese chicken. I got one with the steamed chicken and another with the crispy chicken, both with dark meat. They come with ginger rice, some cucumbers, and their special sauces. The "ginger rice" was just normal rice with ginger in it, not like the chicken rice you would find at other places. The chicken was fine and I really liked the spicy sauce it came with. The rice plays a huge part of this dish though and I thought they were lacking in that aspect read more

Terrible experience with this restaurant. We ordered four grilled chicken Khao Man Gai dishes through Uber Eats. One of them had a serious food safety issue, and I received a refund for that item. I also called the restaurant to address the issue directly. The person who answered the phone suggested that the delivery driver might have put a bottle cap inside the rice box. I asked, "What would be the driver's intention in doing that? What would they gain from it?" She responded by saying that her kitchen staff would never do such a thing and offered a refund. She then continued to complain about having many problems with delivery drivers. I explained that, as a customer, I expect the restaurant to take food safety concerns seriously. If she suspects tampering by drivers, she should look into improving the packaging instead of deflecting blame. She wasn't open to hearing my concerns and ignored my question about why a delivery driver would tamper with the food. I also pointed out that the paper bag was stapled three times at the top and didn't appear to have been opened and resealed, making her theory unlikely. She was unapologetic and ended the call on me. Good luck running a restaurant with that attitude. read more

This was my first time ordering from one of those ghost kitchens (wasn't aware that's what it was before we got there but we committed to it). Easy to order via the giant iPad kiosk and there was a friendly guy behind the counter checking in to see if we needed help. Our food was ready within 5 minutes. There was seating inside but the ambiance wasn't there, and it was murderously hot rendering the outdoor seating a non-option. I picked the standard crispy chicken with rice. I knew on the car ride home that this was going to be good because of the intoxicating smell alone. The chicken was crispy and hot when I picked it up (yes I sampled on the drive) and held up okay when I ate it a couple hours later. I preferred the chili sauce over the spicier thicker one. And the little portion of bitter melon soup broth was salty and refreshing. The rice was on the oily side but packed full of ginger and garlic flavor. Glad they included the fresh cucumber and cabbage to balance it. And like others said, the packaging here is great. The closed box is partially exposed to allow ventilation so nothing gets soggy, and the soup container was secured in plastic wrap. I noticed utensils were not included with mine but maybe it was an option on the kiosk I missed. My boyfriend got a cold teriyaki chicken bowl from a Hawaiian food vendor and he liked it (I preferred my Angry Mom). Overall impressed with this quick and convenient gem and I will definitely order from Angry Mom for takeout again. read more

Food is ok, concept is jacked up. I placed my order at the kiosk cause I wanted to see all the options of the other vendors since it was my first time going. The employees are nice but they don't explain things well and so the whole process of getting your food and ordering is vague if it's your first time. I wanted to use a 20% yelp checkin code for first timers but there was nothing to type in. It took about 20 min for my food to come out. It was good, but I've had better. I will say the sauces were tasty so I poured that all over my chicken. Don't think I'll make the drive back out here for the food. read more

Best khao mun gai / Hainanese chicken rice locally hands down. The crispy chicken is actually even better than traditional Hainanese chicken in my opinion. Portions/price are good, the ginger rice is fantastic, the winter melon soup is fantastic, and their sauces are THE big reason to come here I think. The ginger chili sauce is crack, and they now sell it in bottles! The ordering experience at the Fair Food kitchen sucks, yes, but Angry Mom's is always worth it. read more

I love Hainanese chicken and saw a post on Facebook about this new ghost kitchen. Ordering online was easy and simple. Got a mixed chicken meal for my family of 4 where it is clearly stated no cilantros due to food allergies. Received a text confirming my order and another when food was ready with its locker location. Drove 23 mins from Sugar Land to pick up. I even replied to the initial text stating no cilantros. Well, surprised when we opened these nicely packaged food. Disappointing that they didn't take food allergies seriously since lots of cilantros in all dishes except the 3 sauces. Needless to day, 2 out of 4 people couldn't eat due to that. I ended up getting pizzas. Hubby said overall flavor was good but the soft chicken was a bit dry. Crispy ones were a bit overcooked with burned ends. Unsure if this is an off night since most reviews were good. Just my luck! read more

No signage and no service. Looks like a food pick up place in container/ metal warehouse. Bathroom also is out of order. Was driving here hoping to eat but had to go somewhere else read more

I've eaten here twice and both times I've had issues. The first time I ordered from their website and picked it up from the cloud kitchen on Fairdale. These kitchens are setup for DoorDash, Uber Eats drivers not folks ordering and picking up for themselves. The person at the counter kept telling me to scan a code to get the order from a locker but I was not sent a code because I ordered from their website. They got that sorted out only to find that the locker assigned for my order was empty. Of course the cook in the Angry Moms Kitchen was no where to found. I did finally get my order but I waited over an hour for the cook to come back and remake it. All that being said since the food was just made it was delicious. Totally on point with the reviews and star rating here. The second time I went here the food was grossly overdone and inedible. It was like someone threw it in the fryer and forgot about it. The chicken thigh was bone dry, the skin was rock hard and the rice had large pieces of brown, shriveled ginger in it which I did not recall seeing the first time. Everything had to be thrown away and was a total waste of time and money. I can see they are capable of creating a tasty meal but they are not consistent and I don't play with my money like that. So for that reason, I'm out. read more

Ordered the crispy chicken and traditional chicken. The crispy chicken was very delicious - well seasoned, tender, and I like the to-go packaging with holes to maintain crispiness. Original chicken was a-okay. Reasonable pricing. Will order again and possibly try the tofu options next time. read more

Pros: Loved the fried chicken version of their rice. Also loved the soup on the side. Decent portion. Packaging was good. May be best version of Kao Mun Gai in Houston. Cons: The sauce needed more kicks The rice may be a bit too dry for my liking and needed more Mun (oil). Will I order from this place again? Probably, but not for a while. I would recommend people to order from them though. read more

TLDR: I'm sorry momma, I never meant to hurt you... I'd be angry too if I didn't get a freshly prepared, hot and crispy chicken. Visit: Weekday (lunch) Order: Crispy Chicken Khao Mun Gai Rating: 7.1/10 This concept and the taste of the food has great potential, but on my first visit there were slight errors in execution that ultimately led to a less than desirable outcome. l'll admit, my food was fairly decent. While the flavor components of the soup (slightly more than half filled container), rice, and accompanying sauces were absolutely on point, the "crispy" chicken I received was a bit chewy, only slightly warm, and on the dry side. Given the price point of $17.17 (considering the additional processing fee/gratuity/tax), I would be more inclined to return had the star of the dish (the lackluster chicken) been fresher and crispier. This was my first time trying Angry Mom's Kitchen and I was intrigued by the multiple restaurant/one venue idea. The ordering process was a bit confusing as there was no one at the counter when I first entered. After meandering around I got the gist. There are two kiosk/pads at the entrance for delivery personnel who check in to receive their prospective food orders, while walk ins proceed to the counter to enter which "restaurant" and subsequently what dishes they're ordering. Eventually a worker did come out and politely questioned which restaurant I was there for, mentioning there were some that were not in operation at that time. After confirming Angry Mom's was good to go, the process was simple enough. Will I come here again? Maybe not soon, but I may just swing on through to see if this was just an off day. If that chicken was fresh, this very well could have an 8.4+ rating! read more

Steam chicken was dry, rice a little undercook. Ginger Sauce is good. Soup potion is small. Somehow the soup taste does come with the meal not accompany the Khao Mun Gai, gave a bitter taste. Stop by here for lunch. Craving something similar to homemade food instead of fast food. This isn't a restaurant but more of pop up kitchen that is grab and go. There are barely any seating inside and few tables outside with umbrellas. I cant picture anyone eating outside since it hot and over 100 degrees. You order from ipad and pick up your food in locker. Once your order is ready your name will appear on tv screen. Other than that you don't really know how long it will take. That con side of it. I had to constantly asked eta of my ticket. Food: Khao mun gai was pretty tasty. Not fan of inside seating though. Kinda pricey $14.50 for lunch. Beware extremely tiny portion. So had to deduct a star. Needs more protein. Base off they charge restaurant prices but this isn't technically a restaurant. Food 3/5 Overall 2.5/5 read more

What do we say about this? It's terrific. It's filling and heart warming. Also, try the gray stuff it's delic-, ahem, sorry. Almost went full Disney on everyone. I've been seeing this place on yelp for quite some time and decided to finally give them a shot. As a Thai-American, I am super picky about what goes in my mouth; especially when it comes to my people's food. I was feeling super gluttonous this fine day and decided to try the soft and crispy chicken. Ordered two entrées and took them home. (Side note kiddies, they don't have any tables. It's a ghost/cloud kitchen, so it's all Togo/takeaway). It took me a total of an hour to go grab it and drive back home. Was it worth the drive? You bet your sweet ass it was! Let's go onto a different paragraph for descriptions. The fried - The skin was super juicy even after driving 30-40 minutes away thanks to traffic. The chicken was super tender and moist which was great with that crunch. The rice does have bits of ginger which enhances and cleanses the palate to give you more flavor bombs for more chicken to rice ratio. Winter Melon Soup - it was a tad underwhelming so I put it back on the stove and let it reduce a tad bit more to give it more flavor to it. Try it, you'll thank me later. The soft - tender and delicious. I would prefer the chicken to have a tad more plumpness texture wise, but that's just my opinion. Either way, it's still delicious in that regard. I'm going to have to ask them to keep the skin on because I definitely crave it. Maybe side notes that for future references. All in all? Thank you so much for specializing in a simple but easily messed up dish. You guys brought me such joy when I tried the first bite. You've got a loyal customer here, and I can't wait to spend so much money here that you end up opening up a brick and mortar somewhere. read more

Great ghost kitchen take out option for Thai style chicken rice. This place is the best "modern" option for chicken rice that I've found outside of Chinatown. The crispy chicken option is also tasty. Chicken is not dry and the soy dipping sauce is delicious. The curry sauce was spicy and flavorful but not aligned with my palate preference. Price is also reasonable considering the location. Follow the signs to find your order on the tablet in order to open the locker containing your food. I would recommend everyone give this place a try at least once - I will be ordering from here again. read more

First thing to note about this place is that it is meant for pickup, not really a dine in place. You order by going to their website to place the order. Then when its done, you get a text telling you the locker to open to get your order. The order comes nicely packaged to go. Picked up a mixed family size chicken. It came with a big foil pan that had the ginger rice and boiled chicken, as well as a separate box of the crispy chicken strips, as well as 3 cups of wintermelon soup. The crispy (fried) chicken strips were pretty tasty. The boiled chicken tastes like something I can make after boiling my own chicken for 30 min at home. The boiled chicken wasnt very tender or flavorful. The ginger rice was ok, the eggrolls were also nothing special. The whole thing was about $55, which is a reasonable value imo. I had way better hainan style chicken at other singapore/malaysian places. Still, good place if its close to you. read more

Delicious and big portion. White meat steamed chicken is very juicy. The fried version is so crispy and well seasoned. The rice is infused with just right amount of ginger and not too soft not too dry. Angry Mom surely has brought this Bangkok's street food dish to Houston!
