Honest is a lovely gem in Bellevue! It's placed right next to Apna Bazaar, which makes it so convenient to pop in for a quick snack after getting groceries. It has plenty of seating, but is never empty. We come here often for afternoon snacks and tea. Some things we've tried: - Vada pav: 9/10 - This is sooo yummy and comes with two pieces. The fried potato is the perfect size for the bun, and it comes with some chutneys and spicy powder. This is usually too spicy for me however. - Dahi puri: 8/10 - Can't go wrong here. They make sure to put all the chutneys and fill the puri up nicely with potato filling. - Bahubali Sandwich: 8/10 - This is a 4 piece sandwich which is topped with Amul cheese and comes with spiced chips. It's really delicious and the perfect snack, but I recently found out it has jam, which makes me like it a little less. - Masala chai: 8/10 - Better than any chai in the area and nicely spiced. Pav bhaji was really good, it's Honest's specialty. A little pricey but the taste reminded me of my favourite place in India. Pani puri was AMAZING. Tried the very famous Honest while visiting Seattle. Tried Pav Bhaji, Triple Schezwan Fried Rice and Ferrero Rocher milkshake. Pav Bhaji was good and tasted like Mumbai style pav bhaji. Dahi Puri looked and tasted good. Triple Schezwan Fried Rice was uncooked, taste was abysmal. The very hyped Ferrero richer milkshake was chocolate milk and ferrero rocher chocolate on the side. Overall food and service was great! Got the pav bhaji, bhel puri, chili paneer, mango Lassi and masala chai. Wish they included an additional pav with the bhaji. I have had amazing food and sometimes average quality. I typically go here for pav bhaji, dabeli and vada pav. Those are my go to dishes here. I also like their chaat fair bit and the bhakri pizza. Sandwiches are really really not that great (despite what other reviews say)...the bread to filling ratio is just way off...I have tried 3 different varieties many times...its way too much bread. If they could just make their bread thickness thinner it could go a long way to making it delicious, especially when there are 3 bread slice per sandwich. An HONEST review of the restaurant which I regularly go to for chaats. Probably the best restaurant for chaats in the Seattle/Bellevue area. My go-to dish is papdi Chaat, which offers good value for money (enough to fill 1 person). Apart from that we usually get the Bhakri cheese pizza a dosa or the Dabeli. Pretty much any item on the Chaat menu tastes amazing. Some of their unique dishes are the bahubali sandwich and Dabaang dosa. 100% recommend. Having tried most of the dishes here below is a rating of some of the other dishes: - Chinese (Noodles and Manchurian) - 3/5 not as tasty as some of the other restaurants in the area. - Thaali - 3/5 the Thali has been priced well but items on the Thaali taste pretty ordinary. - Dosas - 3/5 the dosas here are great but the accompanying sambhar and chutneys are very disappointing (pretty bland). - Pav Bhaji - 4/5 recommend, definitely worth a try, although the pav isn't enough to complete the Bhaji, so order extra. - Faloodas - 5/5 I usually go for the pista Faloodas with dry fruit. Definitely add dry fruits for $1 to get that extra crunch. This restaurant is also a good option for catering or bulk orders. Few other points that impressed me about Honest restaurant - To go or home delivery packaging - the chaats are packed separately to ensure maximum freshness and ensures the food doesn't get soggy. - The restaurant is so efficient, even though there is a long line the system they have is place to serve customers is very efficient. After moving to the Seattle area we have come here multiple times. The restaurant is in an open complex with an Indian grocery store on one side and other good eats. Ample of parking space available which is always full. Its quite far from our place, like 30min drive. Well the dedication, hehehe. The food is far better from the Honest in Artesia, CA. The only thing that we did not enjoy in LA was the Indian food, OMG its bad. We were so looking forward to the Indian food scene here. Ample of sitting space available. You order on the reception area and your given a number and your order is brought to your table. We ordered their:- Vada pav with Amul butter- It was so good, I mean almost like the ones we get in India. Masala chai- It was ok ok. Served with India's favorite cookie Parle-G. Paneer Chilli dry- Nah skip ordering this item. Not sure what was it exactly. Bhakri Pizza- OMG this was so good. Do try it. Overall, its a good authentic Indian Place. The only part which we did not like is the guy at the reception, guy has some serious attitude and the price is way overpriced. Honest has the best street food I've had in the US. Insanely authentic! I recently learned that they are a nationwide chain and just opened up in the area. They have ample space and can seat a large number of families. Most of the tables seemed to be for 4 people, but I'm sure you can move them around as needed. The place is not ventilated very well, and it was humid inside. Being seated near the kitchen added to the problem, but we were sweating after a few minutes inside. I'm a massive fan of the food. Everything was super authentic and had the right flavors and spices. I think this is one of the few restaurants which has not Americanized their food. The samosa chaat and dahi puri are a must get. It is superb and the closest to authentic street food I've had in the area. They also have splendid snacks - pav bhaji, bahubali sandwich, and vada pav. All were a solid 5/5. The dosa, however, was pretty average - nothing to get excited about. The sambar and chutneys with it were excellent, but the overall meal didn't hit the spot. I would give it a 3/5. Overall it was a sure-shot 5/5, and I would be going here a lot more often. read more

Some dishes are absolutely delicious (hence 5), while some you need to steer clear of (the Chinese menu, how easy is it to screw up fried rice! Well turns out... very). It was an utter disaster. I absolutely love some of their sandwiches (Baahubali and samosa cheese grill), but the outstanding ones are Vada Pav and Dabeli. Totally on point. The pav bhaji category (including cheese versions and masala pav) are a hit or miss. Their Bhakri pizza... innovative and good for sure. Sometimes I feel like ordering more stuff off their menu but given the inconsistency, I don't feel motivated. Suggestion to the restaurant: If you intend on customers ordering Chinese, then seriously consider improving the quality. Otherwise skip it from the menu. Bhakri pizza - This one will take you straight back to 20 years back in India where the big pizza chains hadnt yet opened and Pizza was something that was made on premade bread and loaded with cheese. Food We ordered vada paav, and paav bhaji. Too much garlic in the food. The potato masala in vada is pretty basic and doesn't look like what you get in a mumbai vada paav. Paav didn't have any butter. Bhaji had too much garlic and oil. I looked at Yelp before ordering and seems the paav bhaji is most rated, I was disappointed. Replying to owner's comment : its not that I have a problem with garlic, I like it but paav bhaji having too much garlic ruined it for me. It's incredible when you run into the same flavours as back home abroad. Honest for me is that. I am amazed that everything tastes similar to the ones back in India! I got their pav bhaji, masala pav with bhaji, dahi vada chaat, dahi puri, chutney puri, pulav, samosa sandwich! The pav bhaji is a must have from here. That's what honest is known for in india and that's the best item on menu without doubt. Both pulav (flavoured rice) and samosa sandwich were on point. Not sweet and really perfect. I would eat this pulav everyday. Personally dahi vada chaat is so so so good - I want more. Dahi puri and chutney puri are also quite nice but compared to everything else they feel overpriced. Lastly - I didn't enjoy masala pav with bhaji. It's basically like pav bhaji but the bread is also toasted with spices. I got the cheese version and that didn't seat too well with me. A good place in Bellevue for Desi Bites. This is in a big compound, hence parking is not tough. There is an Indian grocery store next to it and Fredmeyer nearby. If you are feeling hungry while groceries, can go for quick bites here. On Friday evenings this place is overfull. I love their paav bhaji and falooda. Pathetic food .. I was regretting whole day after having food at this restaurant. We ordered Dabeli and thali. I must say Dabeli was really good.But $20 thali was soooo disappointing and every vegetable in thali was distasteful. The salad pickle served along with thali was not fresh at all. I think the staff do not know how to cook Indian food at all. I had a long day at work and came here to enjoy a good meal but couldn't eat their food as it was distasteful and not fresh.
