My family has been coming to Honest since the restaurant first opened and we have always been so obsessed with their authentic chaat flavours and huge menu to truly satisfy every craving. My favourite item on the menu is the pani puri! I love the size of the puris and how they come pre-filled. It makes it so easy and mess-free to eat and I love all the different chutneys that come with it. The rest of my family switches up what they normally get, though crowd favourites are definitely the vada pav, cheese grill, and gobi manchurian (it honestly tastes just like chicken because I thought it was before I knew what gobi meant). Every dish we order usually arrives fairly quickly and is packed with flavour. I love how the food always tastes incredible. Over the years, their prices have definitely gone up, and we've experienced shrinkflation when it comes to the portions, but the food is so good that we keep coming back. I love how popular they've gotten, but that does mean it's super crowded and loud at all hours. Also! For some reason, the last time we visited, they told us they weren't serving chaat, which was disappointing, so we ended up only getting an aloo puff and going home. read more

I've been to Honest in Bellevue a few times but my last visit was pretty disappointing. After a long tiring hike I came here super hungry and ordered pav bhaji. The bhaji tasted a bit stale and the onion + lemon they gave in the plastic container was cold AF.. straight out of the refrigerator. That's when I realized they don't really make those sides fresh here which was a letdown and so was the bhaji. From my past visits I'd say it's better to stick to their sandwiches and dosas as those are made to order (since they'd get soggy otherwise) and have tasted much better for me. The ambiance is pretty basic with no fancy decor. I may visit in future if they improve their quality and stop serving customers stale food! read more

I was recommended this place by a coworker whose family is from South India and I'm glad I went! It was my first time eating Southern Indian food and everything we got was SO good. I went here with a friend (who is vegan) and we got the Pav Bhaji, Pan Puri, Masala Dosa, and Samosa Chatt and they were all so delicious! My favorite was probably the Pav Bhaji due to the robust flavors/spices and the it was a good dipping sauce for all the bread. I also got a chai which was one of the best I've had in a while. It also says a lot when it's busy and full of Indian families. We didn't have to wait too much for our food and some food came out faster than others which was fine as we were busy finishing other plates. Honestly, a really good Indian place in redmond, easily in the top 5% and there are a ton of them out there. For a sit down meal I'd probably go elsewhere as it is fairly sparse inside. However, I loved the digital menu pictures (true to what was served) and that they have some things here I've not seen anywhere else. I got the Raj Kachori Chaat and it was both new to me and delicious. I love fried things so all that goodness within a fried shell really speaks to me. The vaga pav was also mine, but with the food sizes I couldn't finish. Both the bread and the filling were really flavorful, not just in spice but the depth of flavor too. It's a very casual place for street food. They have a ton of items on the menu. Reminded me of eating chaat back home. We got the Vada pav and the bahubali sandwich. The Vada is humongous, just the way it should be and it is spicy. Loved every bite of it! Bahubali sandwich makes me so nostalgic about eating grilled sandwiches in Bangalore! Oh my word! Food: There is so much variety here, from pizzas ( not with a spiced masala twist, just double cheese) to indo chinese (Szechuan dosa anyone?) to chocolate and cheese sandwiched. The mysore spice was more like a dry rub- really thirsty afterwards. While it's not bad, I think our usual spot has more complex flavor with more tasty curries. One sambar tasted like ketchup with mayo. 3/5 - Samosa chaat: Unfortunately this one came out pretty soggy. I get with everything wet piled on top of the crispy samosas it'll get softer quicker, but we couldn't even tell where the crust was even when we started eating it. 3/5 Service: Polite, people here were constantly cleaning. Ambiance: This has more of a cafeteria vibe, very bright white lights, large open space, order at the front and pick your own seating. Note: - Utensils are plastic takeaway sort. First time here. Food was okay. The service was alright nothing over the top. You come in order your food, sit down they give you a number to place in the table and then the staff brings the food. You have to clean up your table, get your own paper plate, bowl and utensils. The food is pricey for the amount you receive. They do have daily specials you have to ask about them. It's fairly clean inside. It was highly recommended by dons friends of mine who are of this ethnicity. I went with 4 people who are of the same ethnicity and they even said for them it's not authentic, not fresh as they have had in other states they have visited Honest restaurants chain. If you want traditional, authentic Indian Street food. Honest is truthful place. The Pani Puri was very good, although the inside of the puri was cold, I liked the sauces on top, and the Sev was well received. The Gobi Manchurian was incredible, the fried batter was perfectly cooked, not too oily or batter-y, I think its also pretty good on spice (beware its on the spicier side) My favorite dish here is the Cheese Dabeli. Regular dabeli is good, but the cheese one is exceptional. They use a special Indian cheese and has a very creamy and nutty taste. I liked the filling as well, which had peanuts and Indian spices. Taste was decent , definitely worth trying Vada Pav - Another popular street side snack which consists of fried potato balls served with bread and sweet and spicy dipping sauces. This was pretty good too and tasted just like what you would get in India Veg Manchurian with Gravy - An Indo chinese dish consists of different kind of main ingredient ( cauliflower , veg meatballs etc). This was honestly the worst manchurian dish I have ever had. I could only taste soy sauce in the sauce or gravy , no other flavors that you might expect , such as garlic / ginger maybe some sourness from lemon juice etc. The veggies added to the dish were completely raw . And the veg meatballs also seemed to be mainly made of some filler material like flour or something rather than actual veggies ( The balls also are generally made with lots of veggies such as cabbage , carrots etc with some flour used as a binder ) Mysore Masala Dosa - Rice flour crepe with a spice rub and spicy potato filling. The dosa was good, however the potato filling needed more seasoning or salt in my opinion. The chutneys ( dipping sauces ) did not seem fresh at all and the sambhar ( lentil soup) had no flavor. One of the best Indian quick service restaurants, with plenty seating, out here in Bellevue-Redmond area. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Ordering, seating and service was super quick in spite of the rush hour on a weekend. Also, staff was attentive enough to capture our needs and helped customized food for kids palate. We had curry puff, dahi bhalla chat, paneer tikka sandwich, Hakka noodles, masala rava dosa and Chole bathure. Everything was top notch except for 'bhature (bit oily)' and 'sambar (bit bland)', however the overall experience outweighs the minor negatives. I ordered takeout over phone for mild schezwan fried rice and gobi manchurian dry but instead got spicy schezwan fried rice and veg manchurian. You can clearly see in the pictures with the attached bill. This was placed much in advance around 845PM and was collected at 945PM, me being the last pickup before they closed. This was dinner and had no option but to eat it, hence the half empty down pictures. This is truly pathetic that you charge customers and give them something else than what they ordered. I've eaten here many times and never had a wrong order except for the occasional miss in taste and spice level, this time truly pushed the limit! I loved the food at Honest! I was so blown away by the food here. The menu has a large enticing selection of street eats, snacks, chaat, sandwiches, pizza, falooda, juices, shakes, pav bhaji, misal pav, fast South indian, Indo-Chinese etc. and even pastries (looked quite appetizing). It's a very large menu, and the shakes section in particular had a Ferrero Rocher shake that I didn't try but am eyeing for next time. As for what I ordered: Vada Pav, Chickoo Shake, Chilli Cheese Toast, and Sev Puri. The Vada Pav arrived crispy and hot, with the spicy orange thechcha and a fried green chilli - super authentic (although pls make it Indian/Thai chilli instead of Serrano ). It also came with yummy spicy green chutney and tamarind chutney. If you've had Vada Pav in Bombay, you know they don't usually serve it with chutneys, so I was happy the chutneys weren't on the bread pav. But they give it to you in case you want it. I had this with the Chickoo Shake which was delicious. It tasted exactly like Chickoo shakes back home. Liked it so much that I ordered two. Next I ordered a sandwich - the Chilli Cheese Toast, also very yummy and the large portion made it so filling! Had to take it home in a box. One recommendation would be to put more green chutney in the chilli cheese Toast. And the shredded cheese on top is very nice, but a bit flavorless. Somehow the Bombay street hawkers grated cheese despite not being great quality actually tastes like cheese, this cheese was a bit plasticky. Maybe if it was more finely grated, it might have tasted better? Finally I ordered the Sev Puri, this was super delicious too, again took me back home. As everywhere in the US, they don't serve it on flat papdis, they put the filling into round puris used for pani puri. But it was quite tasty! Ordering is at the counter, you pay, get a number, pick a table, and your order arrives at the table. Service was very fast, and the ambience is fast casual. The restaurant was well-lit, clean, had a nice welcoming ambience, and the staff were friendly and accommodating, and answered all my questions about the menu. I wanted Gobi Manchurian, so I looked for the best place nearby and went to Honest. But when I tried their Gobi Manchurian, I didn't enjoy it. The pieces were too big, and the taste wasn't right.
