I've been holding on this review for several months because I've been busy. But I have finally gotten a chance to come back and give this restaurant the review it deserves. I've eaten at one of the other locations before, but this was my first time at this location. My son and I stopped here on the way to an event in Lincoln. We came around lunch time, and the restaurant was fairly busy. Full, but not a long wait for a table. My son and I placed our order and sat down. He ordered the Lil' Kids Meal Hamburger with ketchup and mustard and fries ("Freedom Fries"). He also got a Birthday Cake Shake. For my meal, I went with the Hammer of Thor - a burger with chipotle cream cheese, brussel sprouts, bacon mayonnaise, and pepper jack cheese. For mine, I subbed in the parmesan truffle fries. The menu here is simple. Ten or so burgers that all sound awesome, get it as a single or a double, and sub a vegan or chicken breast patty at no charge. They have fries and tater tots (plain or parm garlic) plus loaded fries ("Blazing Saddles"). The parm fries dunked in Abe's Sauce is the way to go (for adults, sub ranch if you are a kid or kid-at-heart). The only downside to our visit was the wait time. As mentioned, it was lunch time, the place was full, all food places are short-staffed, and they are making things fresh (even your fries). We waited about 20-25 minutes and with all that figured, the wait seemed reasonable to me. If you want fresh food, it's worth the wait and you need to eat here! Liam at a fair amount of food for him, but he's a very light eater so I finished all three of his items. The burger was a bit dry and not my choice of toppings, but for a kid's meal burger, it was acceptable. I give it a 7/10. The fries (both types) are exceptional here. The regular ones are seasoned with salt and crispy, and the parmesan truffle fries are crispy and smothered with parmesan and seasoning. Very delicious - even though they dump it in the middle, there is more than enough for all your fries. And the portions of fries are very good here too. I give the fries a 10/10. I stopped by here this past Friday afternoon for lunch. We were in Lincoln for the afternoon and so I decided to consult Yelp for a place to eat and Honest Abe's was the first place that came up. Normally I am not a huge burger and fries type of guy but the number of yelp reviews combined with the 4.5 stars that it had made me curious. Honest Abe's is the type of place where you place your order, they give you a number and you find your seat. This specific location was on two different levels with the downstairs portion being where you ordered, got your drink and where the kitchen was. Then the upstairs level was all the seating, both tables and booths with hardwood floors and art on the walls. For lunch on this day I decided to order the the fireside burger and added on a side of the Parmesan truffle fries. The menu described my burger as coming with jalapeño, bacon, sriracha ketchup, cumin lime mayo, pepperjack cheese and romaine. Within about 10 minutes or so our food was on the table and looked pretty good, especially the pile of Parmesan that was on my fries. The burger itself was probably cooked to a medium temperature and was quite juicy and good. Meanwhile the toppings gave it a little bit of heat and and some extra flavor. The real star of the plate though was the fries which were crispy on he outside and soft on the inside. Then the Parmesan was really flavorful, especially the truffle part of it which really added an earthy smell and flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future.
