Local breakfast place in Lincoln, Nebraska. It's small, ordinary and very crowded. But, it's not crowded because of the food and service. It's crowded because virtually all the customers are elderly. They come in, spend about six dollars on breakfast and then they don't leave. They just sit and visit and drink coffee. They honestly sit and occupy a table for two hours. I can't imagine this place actually makes any money without turning around the customers. Oh well. Again the food and service is just ordinary. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

This place is great! We came to Lincoln to watch a Husker Women's basketball game and the next morning were looking for a good place to eat breakfast. When we travel we try to find new places that aren't "chain" restaurants. We found a gem. Woodees has great service, great food, reasonable prices, and everyone is so friendly. As soon as we came in the server made eye contact and didn't acknowledge and headed behind the counter.. we looked around and all the tables were dirty and then we heard her say sit anywhere.. Excellent food, menu options, and service!! The venue is small but clean and tidy. I didn't finish my food because I can only eat certain foods due to my high blood pressure. The waitress and the cook himself came out to make sure everything was OK with the food. I felt very taken care of. The food was amazing! I stayed in Lincoln for 10 days last month, and had breakfast there nearly every day. I can't comment on lunch or dinner, but breakfast was decent. It's your typical diner food - on the greasy side, basic eggs, hash browns, toast, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. The food is decent, and you can get in and out quickly. The prices are reasonable, but the service was tremendous. On day 1, we had 4 coffees with 4 waters, and ran out of cream and sugar. From then on, when we walked in and sat down, the waitress would bring us 4 coffees and 4 waters, with a bowl of creamers and a bowl of sugars. I had the same thing most days - two eggs, hash browns, toast, and sausage. It was $6 and pretty decent. I did have a breakfast sandwich one day, which was fine (too much bread, but what can you do?), and the guys that got pancakes were happy with them. It's convenient because it's right at the Days Inn (which is where we were staying), and the people were super nice. read more

This is our favorite breakfast spot in town. The biscuits with gravy are excellent, same for everything thing else I have had at Woodees. They serve a big plate of food for a very reasonable price. There is a white board on the wall that has daily specials that give you a few more choices besides the breakfast menu.
