Brownies were good but the tiramisu tart was so much better. It was the best tiramisu tart I have tried and I highly recommend if you like tiramisu. I also tried a dirty chai latte with almond milk, but will probably try the chai tea latte next time. My son loved the nicer doodle cookie and my daughter loved the gluten free chocolate chip cookie. Service was great and the ambiance was amazing. It had so much work in the ambiance that I could appreciate. The bakery is located down some stairs under a bar. I almost missed it driving by, even though there were a few banners. Street parking available or there's a parking garage a few blocks away that has one hour of free parking. read more

I ordered the avocado gluten-free dairy free brownie yesterday. It was very good not overly sweet but the spot I enjoyed. I was a little bummed out that they don't open a little bit earlier to grab some coffee before my meetings. Maybe next time.. I went back today and got another brownie 5.95 so that I could eat it on the airplane. I was a little disappointed, I couldn't try the coffee with the dollar latte coupon I had because they did not have any decaf coffee as it was 5 PM at night as I stated maybe next time. We discovered The Rabbit Hole Bakery late on a Friday evening while we were staying in the Lincoln NE area... Our traveling companions were celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary and we saw online The Rabbit Hole Bakery offered individual sweets and cake by the slice. Parking can be a little rough in the Haymarket area on Friday and Saturday evenings, but we got lucky and found a spot on the street a block and a half away or so. It was about 20 min to close so we grabbed a few items to go. The items can seem a little pricey... $4 to $8 ea, but everything tasted fresh and we enjoyed everything we tried. 2x Chocolate mint brownie 2x Tiramisu tarts 1x Slice of carrot cake 1x Slice of German chocolate cake 1x Piece of German chocolate cheesecake. The atmosphere is cozy and I could definitely see enjoying a cup of coffee and a plate there in the bakery space on a different day... Sitting below street level it's decor is mostly dark wood and dimly lit outside of the front counter area. I hesitate to say romantic, but looking back into when I was doing the online thing..., it wouldn't be a bad spot to meet someone for the first time before committing to a formal date... We popped in for a quick breakfast and were a little late to the party. There were just a few cinnamon rolls left on a Saturday morning, and I understand why you'd wake up early for them. So fluffy and rich! The espresso drink menu was extensive (and they have cocktails). We just grabbed our rolls and enjoyed them on the patio. Nice place! Was bit confusing to find (I'm not from here) it's on a lower level below the street however we managed to get in. Took the kids for a hot chocolate (which btw was pretty damn good for hot chocolate) to warm up and walk around Lincoln. Their pastries looked great too regret not getting something sweet before leaving. Lots of space and seats in here for a relaxing time. The young lady that helped us was friendly and pretty quick at slinging out 4 hot chocolates for us! I would recommend this place! read more

But to the business the Maroons and the cakes and the lemon tarts are so good but the lemon tart was super sour and the prices are OVER THE ROOF! Delightful, cheery locally-owned bakery filled with hand baked delights. Alice in Wonderland theme. I love to bring friends here who are in town visiting. A favorite of mine is the Avocado Brownie but everything is delicious. My daughter enjoys all of the French Macaron flavors. Cheesecake, cake, brownies, cookies, tarts and bars...there is something for every sweet tooth. The coffee menu is really good and you can find lavender syrup, which is one of my favorites and not available everywhere. There is a also a bar if you prefer a cocktail with your treats! The Rabbit has amazing cake by the slice, cheesecake, cookies, and other sweet treats, plus excellent coffee and tea. Also, the Rabbit offers solid wine, beer, and cocktails. The Rabbit staff is always friendly and helpful, the space is well laid out and comfortable to relax while enjoying a drink or treat. Located in a lower level it can be easily missed. Extensive variety of items make it truly hard deciding what to order. Cinnamon rolls are to die for, soft, moist and perfect moisture. I also tried bread pudding which was overly sweet to my taste :( it was with bourbon caramel which is delicious. Strawberry cream puffs was the winner. Irresistible, a single bite ate it. The food may be ok and the service adequate, but the ambiance is ruined by the owner's attitudes toward women and the LGBTQ community.

We stopped by in a Friday evening for drinks. I know, drinks in a bakery? But surprisingly they have some really good adult drinks. We had the equivalency of a Manhattan. Just the right amount of bitters vs alcohol. We didn't try any baked goods. We will save that for our next trip. If you find all the regular drink stops full, don't forget to stop here. Well worth it. It gets five stars instead of four because they use really Luxardo cherries in their drinks and our water glasses were kept full. read more

I stopped here while passing through Lincoln. This is such a cute gem of a coffee shop! I love that it has the Alice in Wonderland theme and they incorporate it so well. I ordered a gluten-free kids birthday cake 2 weeks in advance. One week in advance, the bakery charged my card ($80). When we arrived to pick up the cake as scheduled, the bakery said they forgot to make it. The bakery did not offer anything to fix their mistake (make it late, arrange slices, etc., they did however offer to sell us a single slice). I had to cancel birthday plans to call and drive around to find another bakery to help us out. Thank goodness for other bakeries that were compassionate about a medically fragile child being disappointed for not having a cake he'd been looking forward to. I do not recommend The Rabbit Hole for any special occasion or event. read more

Going down the rabbit hole is an absolute must if you live and/or visit Lincoln. You literally walk downstairs into a place with a wonderfully executed Alice in Wonderland theme. They have also created a new concept of pairing cocktails with desserts, which is brilliant. I am a dedicated customer who goes at least once a week to have my favorite treat: the white chocolate brownie. I have never tasted a blondie brownie that is so moist and fresh. They have many other desserts. I highly recommend the white brownie (of course), lemon cake, apple spice cake, and the avocado brownie. These desserts NEVER disappoint. They also have loose leaf teas and coffee which makes it a nice and quiet place to study at with plenty of outlets and seating (which is always a plus).
