I never write reviews but I will for this place. Emma Bakes is definitely not what you expect to find in the middle of Nebraska but boy are the people of Lincoln lucky to have access to such a fantastic Asian bakery. First of all, you can tell from the ambiance, decor, and Emma herself that she is heartfelt and loves her craft. It shows in her pastries and everything in the little store. Furthermore, the baked goods itself are outstanding. I never expected to have arguably the best egg tart of my life in Lincoln Nebraska but that is exactly what Emma has achieved. Everything else is of excellent quality and everytime I've gone, my only complaint is that I wish I could buy out the whole store. If you do plan on patronizing Emma's amazing store, make sure you go earlier during the day. The store sells out fast and early so you'll need to get there sometime before 11ish to be able to pick from her full selection of items. GO THERE. Your mouth will thank you later.

Egg tart is a must tried. They will be gone quick so if you want, you can put in the order and pick up later. 10/10 service

I wish I got there before 2 PM because they stopped serving lunch by the time I walked in around 3. Now I know I must go back! They had gelato, dessert, fresh baked goods including different types of sour dough, muffins, cinnamon rolls, etc. They even had stocked refrigerators with "take home and bake yourself" goods as well. I ended up getting a huge premade sandwich that had sprouts, tomato, turkey and cheese on a sesame roll. It came with chips. My total was $12. That sandwich lasted me the entire day. I ate half for lunch and the second half for dinner, that's how big it was! The sandwich was delightful and tasteful. I loved the sesame bread it came with. It held all of the ingredients together nicely (did not fall apart, which is always appreciated). Plus, the sesame seeds also did not fall off which I was pleasantly surprised about. There are tons of seating options available inside and outside. The employees were very friendly too. I am looking forward to coming back to try their soup and sandwiches during lunch hour!

I also tried a dirty chai latte with almond milk, but will probably try the chai tea latte next time. My son loved the nicer doodle cookie and my daughter loved the gluten free chocolate chip cookie. Service was great and the ambiance was amazing. It had so much work in the ambiance that I could appreciate. The bakery is located down some stairs under a bar. I almost missed it driving by, even though there were a few banners. Street parking available or there's a parking garage a few blocks away that has one hour of free parking.

I was a little bummed out that they don't open a little bit earlier to grab some coffee before my meetings. Maybe next time.. I went back today and got another brownie 5.95 so that I could eat it on the airplane. I was a little disappointed, I couldn't try the coffee with the dollar latte coupon I had because they did not have any decaf coffee as it was 5 PM at night as I stated maybe next time. Ambience is really cute. It's all Allison in Wonderland has a huge bookshelf. I didn't take a picture, but it seems like a really nice place to kinda hang out and have a dessert and coffee. Both times the service was good
