Love it here! Good food and service. Worth the wait too! When there's a wait list usually that's a pretty good sign for the food and this place is no exception. I know it's a chain but I think it's one of the better ones. Omaha has several but we only have one location. They have great very hot coffee and delicious foods that are savory or sweet. I always go for the delicious sweet potato pancakes which are soft and tasty plus they add caramel with candied pecans for crunch. I just love em so much. Went to the new clock tower location today. Very friendly staff. We (2 of us) started with the lemon-poppyseed pop tart on our server's recommendation. It was fantastic! We placed our entree orders when the pop tart was delivered. Our meals were absolutely delicious but it took A LONG TIME to get them. We inquired with our server while waiting & asked if she would please check on the status of our food. She was very pleasant & said she would see what the hold up was. When our entrees finally arrived she informed that she'll be comping our pop tart bc of the long wait & that a manager would be over to check on us. We thanked her for the kind offer to comp the pop tart & said it's not necessary for a manager to come over. Again, all of our food & beverages were excellent. It is worth mentioning though that in the end, our pop tart was NOT comped & a manager did NOT visit our table. Another thing we thought was $6 for their hot drinks is a bit pricey. All in all a great meal. Just keep in mind, our bill was $63.27 for 1 pop tart, 1 cappuccino, 1 london fog tea, 1 vegetable benedict & 1 southern benedict, taxes & tip. Three HUGE pancakes were delivered. They were nice and hot (which can be hard with pancakes). They were so good. Came here early Monday and they seem to be pretty busy at around 10-11! Plenty of seatings, the staff are always friendly and went above and beyond to get us a private corner area with car seat cradle which was so nice and accommodating! The portions here are really big. Finally tried Good Evan's and I was pleased. If I haven't tried it at a breakfast place, chicken fried steak is always my go to. This one did not disappoint as it's actually panko/hand breaded, it was nice and crispy. It was a pretty sizable portion, and the hash browns came served crispy, which I prefer. They were packed on a Saturday for Brunch, which tells you it's a popular spot but had a good system for seating and getting people served efficiently. Food came out quick. Had to ask for it and then it came - toasted with the butter and everything. I like my butter on the side so had to get that replaced. I also got the strawberry walnut salad - no walnuts, only almonds. They forgot to put the almonds on there, So I had to ask for that part separately as well. My fiance also got the same salad (everything on) and his came just right. The dressing.. Bacon Vinaigrette.. just beautiful! It really paired so well with the fresh strawberries and the blue cheese. Quite some big pieces of strawberries in there which was good but there was also a lot of blue cheese in big crumbles. This got a little too hard to have because of the flavor came out too strong. We both removed some blue cheese on the side. Overall really amazing salad though. Fiancé also got the Turkey Apple Sandwich. This one was loaded! A very generous amount of the turkey breast as well as bacon and melted cheese and everything was on point. There weren't any greens in the sandwich and We both tend to find sandwiches without greens too heavy on the meat, but this one was perfect! You really didn't feel too much meat in there. Just spot on. We also got a side of sweet tots - These look really pretty. I was expecting them to be crispy but they were more on the softer side. We have been on a quest to find the best chicken fried steak in a restaurant for about 10 years. This chicken fried steak is truly hand breaded with panko bread crumbs and pepper, it is perfect. No over seasoning, and let's talk about gravy. WOW!! Also, top notch sausage gravy. We also had a puff pastry pie thing. Missed the photo op, because 1/2 of it was already eaten. So gooooood.
