Great burger place in Lincoln, NE! Wouldn't say the best burger EVER but a darn good burger. I got the 1809, which was sweet, savory, cheesy, paired in harmony with the patty. Unique take on a sweet burger, which I am personally a huge fan of. The sweet potato fries and tater tots take the crown here. Don't get me wrong, the fries were good.... But their tots are crispy and fluffy greatness, especially paired with the sauces. You order up at the counter, they give you a number and once the food is ready, they bring it to you. I was down in Lincoln for a softball tournament with a friend and knew we had to stop at Abe's! The Greatest Burger Ever is very accurately named as this might just be the best burger I've ever had! You order up front and the food comes out quick. It's an easy place to meet for lunch or dinner. I truly can't recommend it more! Anytime I'm in Lincoln this is a go-to spot. The dinning room is upscale, in a fast food way, with pictures and quotes from Abe. I ordered the Honest Salad with burger. The salad was super fresh, the burger delicious and filling. The burger was seasoned perfectly. My husband had the burger Kid's meal, which was a perfect size for lunch. The crispy shoestring fries are fabulous, the best fries I had in a long time. The burgers are great with a brioche style bun. The staff is super friendly. You order at the counter and they deliver food to your table. Parking was easy in the strip mall. 1st time @ the Cornhusker Hwy location & the only time I'mdisappointed with Honest Abe's. Normally go to the Glen Oaks location & it is always stellar. Cornhuskers location, not so much. Went because I wanted to try the porterhouse burger & it was ok but it was the same size as the kids burger we got for the granddaughter. Definitely not the 6oz burger you get at the Glen Oaks location. Don't mind paying Abes prices but you shouldn't be paying for the regular size burger & getting the kids burger. I got the Colonel Burger with chicken instead of beef, no tomato; Grilled Chicken, Mozzarella, Basil, Roasted Garlic Vinaigrette, Balsamic Mayo It actually was like eating a Caprese salad in a burger, and SO GOOD! The balsamic and garlic and mozzarella and basil combination was supreme! Mozzarella was really fresh, whole layer of basil on the bottom, and very generous amounts of sauces in there. No complaints at all here coz this was a superb burger! It really surprised me. Even the sauces by themselves were good. I would totally recommend trying the sauce with fries. Good burger, but straight rude service. The food is good. I've been here a few times now, and the burgers are constantly on point. Customer service is lacking. The guy taking my order was being rude. It's not what you say, but how you say it. It's also what you don't say. To just stand there and stare at me was weird. To make me ask if you are ready is a lack of training. To respond with an eye roll is unprofessional. Service will come and go, but I think the have a good formula to push out delicious food on a consistent basis. read more

They have a rotating menus of crazy creative burgers and the 4 locations across Lincoln all have different ones at different times. Every week they change up endlessly creative and delicious burgers. Want to know the best part? They had a burger called the Hammer of Thor..... it is my absolute favorite! It has brusselsprouts, chipotle cream cheese, bacon mayo, and pepper Jack. I used to check all 4 locations weekly to see where it was and would drive across town just to get it. But that best part I promised, they added it to the standard burgers they have all the time at all locations!!! So if you have perfected crazy cool burgers what is next? How about some of the best fries around and then just to make it impossible for anyone to ever come close to your level you creat multiple delicious dipping sauces from scratch. Trust me, do yourself a favor. Get Abe's sauce, then order an extra one cause you are going to want it. Then just for fun make great milkshakes that you can add booze to! Honestly nothing really stood out as above average. We went in about 15 minutes before they closed and we could feel the annoyance of the staff that we came in before they'd closed. After we walked in, a few small groups came Behind us. Each time a group came in, someone would look out any angrily yell "2 more just came in...", "4 more just came in...". I came in at 8, my third time this week because I like the food so much. All of the employees were in the back so I had to wait a little bit, eventually moving so that they could see me through the doorway of the kitchen. A young man saw me and took a few minutes to come out, assuring me he'd be with me in one second. So I waited a few minutes longer for him to take care of the dining room before taking my order: Genghis Khan burger with the loaded fries and a bottled coke, which were all pretty good. On previous visits the young lady at the counter offered to open the bottle for me but not this time. I sat waiting on my food and when a young lady brought it to the table, I asked if she had a bottle opener and she quickly advised there was one o man the wall behind the soda fountain. So, okay, I s was able to open my drink. Usually I enjoy the music playing but tonight it was drowned out by the music coming from the kitchen. In my years managing, I've never allowed the back of house to interfere with guest experience, so I intended to speak with the manager before leaving; especially because the conversation spilling out was full of vulgar language. I don't know if there was an argument but there certainly was an abundance of F that, F you, motherFrs, and I do what the F I want. I should note that the only employee I saw on the floor working was the young man who had taken my order. The gentleman next to me having dinner with his family attempted to get someone's attention, having to poke his head in the kitchen, saying hello several times before being heard to request sauce. Another lady came out to make herself a drink and I recognized her voice from the cussing heard. As she made her drink she spoke with the young male employee and I could see that her eyes were nearly closed from a heavy smoke break. My suspicion was confirmed when she said she needed a lid for her drink and he pointed out that she was holding one in her hand. She laughed with embarrassment and thanked him for helping him find a lid for her. He joked that she was fired and said F that, you can't fire me, I'm your manager. I realized that speaking with her would be pointless. The biggest infraction, in my opinion, was the kitchen noise being obnoxiously loud during Prince's "Purple Rain", for which there is no excuse. This location has always been my least favorite in Lincoln, with the other two always being great experiences and well-mannered staff. It seems this one has a terrible manager who likes to hang out and is way too personal with her staff, especially being under the influence at work. I suppose I can drive a little further for a nice burger without the frustration. read more

Pretty solid burger joint and the burger didn't make you feel heavy after eating which to me indicates it being a good quality patty. I decided to go with their staple burger just so I could judge it and my friend got the fireside. I loved the decor here and read ever quote on every wall. A Friday night rush didn't slow these folks down at all! We ordered 5 different burger combos and these folks managed to create and serve a very streamlined meal. The place filled up fast after we ordered but no one ever had to wait long to get a seat. The tables were cleaned immediately and the entire place operated like a well oiled machine. Everyone in my family ordered a different burger. One was for a gluten allergy- the GF bun was really good!-and there were no issues with anyone's order. Almost like an owner or manager has people on their facebook friends list leaving 5 star positive reviews.
