Stopped in with a few friends. The food was average in my opinion. One of my friends got the tenderloin and said it was chewy. I had the BLT and the bacon was not crisp which is always disappointing. The rest of the food semed good and the bartender made decent drinks so I may return. read more

What a find! We stopped here on our way out of town after a mid-day Husker win. The wait staff were on point, especially the bartender who seemed genuinely happy to serve a middling crowd between the lunch and dinner rush. This place is awesome! Been to Lincoln a lot but never tried until recently. The server was nice and the place was roomy. We were able to sit next to a giant screen to watch softball. Was a little nervous when we arrived with hardy any cars in the parking lot. However we went in and the food was very good. I had the tenderloin with fries and my wife had the roast beef sandwich. It was okay until they turned on the Nebraska Men's BB game. Suddenly the volume on the TV was at MAX. We couldn't talk anymore at all. I was yelling but it was useless. This was a great find. Service was good and kept up on refills etc, although felt slightly rushed toward end of meal. Ambiance was very relaxed. Food was great! Saltys lodge is one of the best places to be in Lincoln Nebraska. Fantastic atmosphere to have some drinks or watch any sports game. The food is also incredible, I've never had a bad dish here. This was our second meal at Salty's Lodge- the food was excellent, our server was delightful, good recs, fun attitude, and the person we had the first time recalled us and stopped by to say hello. The butterflied shrimp is so good, and the hush puppies are almost better. I ate the powerslaw off of my husband's dish and I loved it, it's a tangy slaw so be aware if you're a sweet slaw lover! My husband and I were ecstatic with our lunch. We ordered two different burgers and shared. We ordered the Smokehouse Burger and a Peanutbutter Burger. I wanted to taste the sausage, pulled pork and burger. There was just enough barbecue sauce to complement and not overwhelm the individual components. The power slaw was tasty and the sweet potato fries yummy. The Peanutbutter Burger was delightful. I love Peanutbutter and bacon together, and my mother-in-law taught me about cheddar cheese and strawberry jam. They all work well with a burger. Don't let the name or combination put you off. We met Thomas the owner who explained the sausage (which I wanted for personal use) and verity of menu choices. Salty's Lodge is comfortable for family meals or date night. read more

Stopped by at around 7:30pm on Saturday night. We could tell by the packed parking lot that they were really busy, but decided to go in anyway. Glad we did. Seated in short order. Wait staff was attentive. A little bit of a wait for food, but like I said... they were busy. Still, it was not an unreasonable wait. It actually gave us a chance to chat with our dining partners and catch up. We had the pretzel bites and cheese curds for apps, then pork tenderloin sandwiches for the entree. All very tasty. Tenderloins were huge, dwarfing the buns (we forgot to take pictures). Had a chance to talk for a few minutes with Thomas, the owner, before we left. Great conversation!
