We stopped here for lunch around 11:30 on a Tuesday morning. I had the open faced salmon sandwich with tater tots and my wife had the Cuban sandwich with a side salad. The food was great for the most part (the tater tots were too crunchy, how does that even happen??) Here's why we won't be back: 1. Probably some of the slowest service we've ever had (and they were NOT busy at all). 2. As another reviewer mentioned...flys, this can be easily remedied, why hasn't it? 3. Waitress was 'ok' at best. I always forget about Gate 25 because I typically go to places I went in college. Today we had pickle fries (thinly sliced and really flavorful) with sriracha mayo. HUGE ORDER. We split a wedge salad. It was big and non traditional but had tons of blue cheese crumbles and heirloom tomatoes. The poke nachos!!! Seared ahi tuna, wontons, spinach sauce and jalapeños. We tried this place for lunch great atmosphere. I don't have time to leave many reviews but I would love to meet someone who left a 3 star or lower and simply shake my head. We eat out a ton as we travel all the time for business and my spouse is a foodie. She had a tuna salad ( subbed the salmon for tuna) she said it's the best she's had in her life and my Reuben is right up there, love how they crisp the edges. The staff smiles and have great energy. My wife and I were looking for something new to try for our first time in Lincoln with our son and came across Gate 25 after looking over a few menus in the area. We were impressed with their wide variety, but couldn't find any kids menu listed so we called to confirm they had a few options, which they do - grilled cheese and chicken strips. As for the restaurant itself, it's fairly small. I'd say about 15 -20 tables at most that I could see, and a bar in the middle. It wasn't busy for lunch so we had no issues getting a table. Service was great throughout our meal, but what really made the experience shine was the food. My wife and I both got their Lamb Burger, which is rare for her to want to try, but it came so highly recommended that she went for it. WOW. We both agreed - honestly the best lamb burger we have ever had! Such rich flavor, spice, and juiciness it just melted in your mouth with every bite. I'm not sure if it's their seasoning blend or their peppercorn sauce but the flavor was absolutely delicious. I would seriously drive an hour back to Lincoln just for the burger it was that good. Hopefully everyone gets a chance to try this place at least once if not for a drink on game day, at least for one delicious lamb burger. read more

Had a work event here with a private room. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they had a full bar with a great selection and we got loaded up with just about all their appetizers and everything was so tasty I really gorged myself. Some of my favorites were the pulled pork nachos, guacamole, flatbread pizza, meatballs. They had a large jenga which was lots of fun to play. This is a really great location and I surely would come back and you should stop in too. I think I'll need to try a sit down dinner next time. read more

Excellent service in a very busy atmosphere before a game. Our waitress was attentive, kind and took care of our kids so well :) Food portions were massive so if you're elementary kids think they can eat an adult sized burger or sandwich...they can't! Stopped in after the Buckeye game for a quick dinner and drinks. With it being Gameday, we didn't expect much, as it was super-crowded, and short gameday menu. Wow, we were surprised. The Classic burgers were absolutely phenomenal, great quality, cooked great. Tater tots were equal to my usual Bar Louie quality. Drinks good as well. I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn. This establishment is within walking distance. It is located on a corner. For lunch I went with the blacken tuna salad and with peppercorn, it really popped off with flavor. It was very tasty. It was also a nice spot to bust on work emails during the day at the bar. read more

For some reason my previous review didn't move with the business page... Never have I thought to come here for food, it always strikes me as a bar. I came not knowing what to expect, and what I found was it was pretty good. I had a hard time deciding what to get, but after seeing they had a Cuban, I had to try it. Behind a cheesesteak, a cuban will always be something I need to try. It was house braised pork shoulder, ham and melted swiss cheese, served on a toasted hoagie roll with spicy mustard and chopped dill pickles. There are a few things I look for in a cuban. The pickle type, makes or breaks a cuban. I hate pickles, but on a cuban, the right one makes it perfect. Right off the bat, they had the right one, instead of those cheap nasty gross pickles, it was a crunchy dill pickle, and instead of cutting it, it was diced and mixed in with the pork. It was a great way to add it in the sandwich without overpowering it. The ham was fantastic, the pork shoulder was melt in your mouth. The pork wasn't dry, wasn't overseasoned, it shined on its own. The cheese held it into place and kept the sandwich together. However,one of the other marks to a great cuban sandwich is the mustard, and this spicy mustard they used was like... incapacitating mace. And I found the problem. The first half of the sandwich was great, it seemed even throughout the first half. When I got to the second half, my first bite I almost choked to death, because of the mustard punch that threw a haymaker at my uvula. The mustard wasn't even on the sandwich, it was light on the first half, and over-splooged on the second. Each bite was a bite of mustard gas pain. Seriously, my eyes were watering by the end of the second half of the sandwich. The rest of it was so good, that I felt like a masochist with each bite, I'd go back to enjoy the rest only to be hammered with the overload of mustard. I'll be back to try a burger, but next time I'll ask for them to lighten up on the mustard, or at least even it out. I had the fries with it, and they were the run of the mill crinkle cut fries, nothing homemade. The one defining factor of them, other than the salt and pepper seasoning, was that no matter how long I waited, they wouldn't cool down. Not even a little. Somehow I think they had some sort of perpetual thermodynamics going on. My wife tried to eat one about ten minutes after I got them and she even commented on how hot they were. We went at dinner time and it was half full, service was beyond fast and friendly. Zero complaints on it. read more

Yesterday, we celebrated my daughter's graduation from UNL at Gate 25. We reserved a room that had it's own bar, servers, and bathroom. The size and location were perfect. The servers did an awesome job of serving beverages and delicious food, while keeping the room clean. I totally would recommend this place for parties and celebrations. read more

Happy we found this place. The food was great, the service was fantastic AND we were able to bring our dog with us on the patio. Had the veggie flatbread, Buffalo wings and a chef salad. Very good atmosphere and great food. This place gave me literally the best burger I have eaten in my entire life. The service is also fantastic. My first experience at Gate was more than enough to make me want to come back again and again. The ambience is sleek and modern. I accidentally ran into a table because of the dim lighting and dark-colored furnishings, but I'm not injured, and I now know to watch where I'm going. Really good food. I suspect the menu is smaller to keep the food fresh. We ate the bbq bacon burgers. My one complaint was that the burgers didn't have lettuce, tomato, onion, or pickles. The classic burger may have come with more veggies on it. But veggies on the BBQ bacon burger would have made it even better. read more

I usually go here for lunch on Fridays, great food. Today brought my son in law for lunch. We arrived @ 1:30 pm, sat at the bar, only people at the bar. Bartender seemed less than enthusiastic about us interrupting his fun time with the other 4 employees in the bar area. Took our drink order, never offered us menus and then proceeded back to his fun time. I reached over the bar, grabbed 2 menus and we sat there for about 15 minutes as the employees congregated on the other side of the bar. I finally got up walked around the bar and asked how much we owed for our drinks. They all stopped their fun time and just stared at me.
