Everything about this place is fantastic! First off, it's got such a great speakeasy vibe because of its nondescript front. Only initials on the front door and a little neon sign that says vacancy. We came very early (probably right after it opened) and it was dark and cozy inside. Only one couple was at the bar and my friend and I sat first at the bar to look at cocktail options. I love that all they're cocktails are named after historic people or places. Very cool. The service was terrific! Bartender let us take our time to decide. I ordered a "Willa Cather", which was a cocktail with St Germain,prosecco and hibiscus! So tasty! My friend ordered the "Kate Martin" which was whiskey and ginger. Loved the vibe and will definitely return next time I'm in town! read more

One of my new favorite places to grab a drink! I love the fun menu, and my clover club was only $11 which is very reasonable for a craft cocktail It is a bit small, but since they limit the number of people allowed in I've been able to find a comfortable seat both times I've been. I'd absolutely recommend checking it out if you're looking for a spot to grab a drink downtown. read more

Went here for a date night and it was lovely! The space is small, intimate and cozy with couch/chair, table and bar seating. We enjoyed the format of the menu and how it highlighted various individuals in Nebraska as names of the drinks. I ordered the Willa Cather and it was delicious and a fair price. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the bar tender make a variety of drinks all of which had their own unique presentation and style. Love Kate Martin, one of my favorite cocktail bars in Lincoln. The drinks are themed and named after famous Nebraskans, some rotate. I've tried Willa Cather, Gabrielle Union, and Mari Sandoz that I can recall, but I've probably had others too...all are amazing. They also make a good old fashioned. Took a group of 7 in as we heard good things about the bar. Being my son's 21st Bday, we had planned to pull a late one. The mixoligist (Devon?) was not happy to be there. Seemed bothered to bring our drinks out and the 2nd round took awhile to get despite being a slower Sunday night. My wife walked up to the counter to order a 3rd but after 7-8 minutes of standing and no acknowledgement of the bartender opposite side of the counter, the cold shoulder worked. The drinks were good and it's a cool small vibe feel, but the rude service on a slower night was enough for us to go spend money elsewhere. read more

Kate Martin is the go to place in Lincoln's Haymarket. Keith is hands down the best mixologist of premium cocktails in the city.....and maybe the country. He and his partners Brian and Jay built out the bar from scratch and did all the design and construction themselves. Don't pass up their sister bar (entrance off the alley) the Occidental for a cool atmosphere and great neighborhood bar. Oh yeah, don't miss the local graffiti artists on the wall.
