Nice spot for a quick drink, located right in the lobby of the Cornhusker Hotel. We've only ever sat at the bar, but it's always been a good experience. Service is solid, with plenty of beers on tap and bottles to choose from, and a few TVs if you're looking to catch a game. We ordered the calamari appetizer and were very impressed, fresh calamari with a lightly seasoned batter, cooked well, and a generous portion size. I'm in Lincoln for work and this place recommended to me by a local. Overall it's a solid spot. Prices are reasonable, the service is great, and they have a very good selection of drinks. I had the fish and chips. It was a good selection but had a couple misses. The fish while 99% great, suffered from having a few spots at the ends of the fillets were the batter tough and the fish chewy. It was only about 1/4 inch on both ends of one fillet and one 1/4 inch spot on the second. But it was enough to bring the fish down a notch. The fries were good but some were very over cooked. The coleslaw was a dry bland throw away dish, I've had better coleslaw at KFC. The tartare sauce was great with a really nice balance of flavors that enhanced the taste of the fish. At the end of the day it was a very good choice and a very good value for the money. read more

Miller Time Pub & Grill is a downtown sports bar and grill inside The Cornhusker Hotel. We held a small business dinner here and everyone seemed pretty satisfied. We ordered appetizers. The nachos are HUGE, messy, and delicious. I ordered the Killians Irish Red BBQ Glazed Salmon which is a 6 oz salmon fillet served on a bed or potluck fried rice with roasted broccoli. Finished with lemon garlic sauce. I enjoyed the salmon and the glaze flavor but the fried rice was a little too fried and added an overall bitterness to the dish. Food was terrible. The salad pictured was supposed to be fried chicken in Buffalo sauce but arrived as some sort of mushy, gloop that tasted more like tikka masala. The lettuce was wilted and on its way out. Tasted like a discounted pre made bag from a low budget grocery store. Considering it's one of their top dishes I assumed it was a safe bet, but was incredibly disappointed. My husband ordered the fish and chips and one of the pieces of fish was undercooked. Service was equally appalling. Our server, Jen, seemed to be preoccupied and got our order wrong. She never returned to check in so we could correct the error. Eventually we had to go request our check from another employee. The ambiance is nice and welcoming. Unfortunately the food is garbage and the service is as unfortunate as the food they serve. My husband and I stopped in for a drink while staying at the hotel the restaurant is located in. The bar is quiet and dimly lit which was great for our "mini date". The hostess and our server were friendly and made us feel welcome. We each got one drink, both were extremely strong. We both don't need much to get drunk so we could have shared one! We got the grilled cheese and couldn't decide on fries or soup as the side. Our waitress suggested we could do both for a slight up-charge. The sandwich was good, grilled cheese so hard to mess up. The soup was not very good in our opinion and it turns out we were brought a meal sized soup on the side, not the side of soup. The fries were a small portion and tasted like they had been sitting out, not super fresh. We were disappointed at the quality of food and drink for the amount we paid. Ambience great. Food selection adequate. This a great place for happy hour. $2 off beer on tap, $1 off house wine and wells. Service was below expected. We came on a snowy evening and didn't want to brace the cold that night since we already managed to drive down a snow packed I-80. The pub seemed to have a large amount of seating to accommodate us for dinner and it was connected to the Marriot hotel. We weren't hungry right away so ordered drinks and fried cheese curds. Cheese curds were good, not the best ever but still worth getting. They were a good appetizer for three people. Again service was not so great. It was about 20 minutes from when we were all in consensus that we were ready to order and our waitress had not come by. Our waters were low and someone's drink was ready to be replenished. We got the managers attention and then our waitress came. Grilled cheese and tomato soup for one and sweet potato gnocchi special for two of us. About 30-40 minutes later our food showed up. Our waitress came holding these two plates of fried looking dough with some rosemary on top. That was gnocchi. So many words to describe this: sweet potato funnel cake, a disgrace to Italians, where was the oil and parmesan cheese and why did the menu not say "fried". It wasn't terrible but not what we were expecting. When someone has the word sweet potato I think healthy and especially when it's a pasta I don't expect fried. I wouldn't order ravioli and expecting it to be fried and unless I said so. I also had one random mushroom on my plate. Apparently the grilled cheese and tomato soup was good. During the whole experience our waitress was quite short with us. When we got the check (with no discount or formal apology) she warmed up but I think she remembered we tip. Which we did 20% on subtotal. Also found out some hotel events were canceled that night so the pub was more crowded than expected. I'll give them some slack for this, and maybe up my review when I receive better service and food the next time. Keep in mind there are mostly only sandwiches and burgers. Entrees are limited to about two and one was out that night when we went. Oh after we received the food she did ask how it was. We said not what we expected and the menu should say fried. I walked in knowing service would be very slow due to how busy it was, but I still left disappointed. To be fair, it was the day before the 2017 Eclipse and the place was hopping, but our service was so slow that I watched plenty of other people seated, served, and charged before our food even came. Let me put it this way, I had my credit card in my hand waiting for my food to arrive at the table so that I could pay and leave without adding another hour to my meal. And when the food did not arrive as ordered and cold, I did not send it back, but decided to eat it as it was. Our waitress did her best to check in with us, and was very apologetic the entire time, but it was perplexing why our two orders took so long or why the kitchen was not prepared to be this busy when the hotel was booked to capacity for the event. When we were getting ready to leave the manager came by to ask us if he could comp us some dessert, which was a nice gesture and when I explained that I couldn't because of dietary restrictions, he offered to comp us some of our food, but I had already paid. The sentiment was appreciated, it was just a little too late to rectify our experience. That said, the bar was beautiful and I loved the decor. The staff was very nice but our service was slow and our food was just okay. I think this place would be lovely to have a beer at the bar on a slower night, and maybe a quick bite, but that just wasn't my experience. If I visit again I may give this place another try, but not if I saw most of the tables were already filled as it does not seem the kitchen staff can accommodate a busy night. read more

The service was poor and had to ask several times for the check. The food took forever to be delivered to our table and when it arrived we had to wait for silverware. When we didn't receive the check waited at the front register to be told we would be waited on in a minute. The server the. proceeded to wait on other customers. After standing at the front counter for about 10 minutes walked to the front lobby to ask if he could assist. He left the desk and returned without having a conversation with anyone in our party. Finally....I gave up wrote my room number down and the meal that I had and left it on the register. I wish they carried non-Miller beers on tap instead of in bottles. Miller is the very worst of the American macro-brews. So, if I am going to eat and drink there I will need some fresh QUALITY beers on tap, the kind that don't use adjuncts like rice and corn. I went for lunch and wasn't in mood for Mountain Dew and I don't drink Pepsi... waitress suggested a root beer on tap with a slight vanilla taste...was very good..only thing to make it better might have been a frosty mug like I've had at other places. Good serving sizes. Salad still good but not as crisp as last time. It was cold though and I like that. This time went with a BLT Burger. Was cooked perfect as was the bacon. The peppered bacon is not too peppery. More crowded this time than before but no wait time and promt service. I'll be back to try other menu items. read more

Really cool bar with tons of High Life relics. The food is great and consisting mostly of burgers, salads, and other eats. Leave room for desert. I had the apple pie cheesecake and it was delicious. The beer selection is broad with lots of local beers, domestics, and imports. They have a long happy hour from 4:00 to 7:00. I had a Thunderbird Cornstalker Dark Wheat. This seemed like it'd be a really great place but we were both thoroughly disappointed. We gave 1 star because the staff was friendly and attentive and 1 star because the food was decently seasoned. Because the main attraction here is the food, no more stars were given. We both ordered Juicy Lucys with fries and both our burgers were way overcooked and so were the fries. We ordered our burgers medium to medium rare because otherwise the cheese just cooks out of them and then they're no longer a Juicy Lucy but just a regular burger instead which is exactly what happened to both of ours as they were cooked beyond well done with a very tough and chewy char. The fries were stiff and crunchy at times which tells me they were also way over cooked. Because everything on both our plates was significantly over cooked, that tells me it wasn't an accident but rather that the cooks are either new or don't understand how to properly prepare the menu they're serving. While the staff was great and did all the right things, we won't be back because we felt our experience was a waste of $40. read more
