Husband and I stopped by on our way through Ashland. I thought the atmosphere was great and it seemed like they had a really good crowd. Bartenders were friendly and checked in a bunch to make sure that we were okay. Originally planned on getting food, but were a little freaked out that the chef wasn't wearing gloves and was touching everything. That kinda grossed me out, so we didn't end up eating anything. Perfect little hole in the wall small town neighborhood bar with pub grub. It's like you live in a tiny town hours from any city and you're out for your early evening walk and everyone in town knows everyone. You stop to say hi to someone and they invite you to stay a bit and grab you a beer and a plate for what they had for dinner and you just chill and chat. Some of these places can have an obnoxious atmosphere but the music was low, everyone relaxed. Arrive fast and friendly! Taco Tuesday got us a filling $7 taco salad. We're all happy! On the hunt for corn nuggets I came across KC's Saloon. Just 7 miles west of the Nebraska Crossing in Ashland. Nice local vibes inside and friendly staff each time I've visited. The bloody mary has a nice kick to it. The corn nuggets are my favorite and staple every time I've gone. The kids burger is just the right size if you're not too hungry. If you're hungry the regular burger is nice and juicy. I loved the fish sandwich it was moist and just the right size. Highly recommend stopping by if you're out that way or just want to try a small town feel. read more

Popped in here after some golf at Iron Horse on a Monday night...super nice staff, and a lot of us ordered the cheeseburger special, which definitely did not disappoint! I'd go as far to say it was a notch above a Stella's or a Dinkers! Be hungry because it was huge...just delicious! The tots were great too. read more

Unfortunately we went back today to try the Chinese food special. We thought the food and service would be great since last week's Thursday Chicken Fried Steak Special and the service were both so outstanding. But we were wrong, the Hunan Beef and the Teriyaki Beef and rice were both just barely above room temperature and the rice was very clumpy with small chunks of rice stuck together. The food was just totally unappetizing the few pieces of broccoli that were stirred in the sauce were so wilted I just scooted them to the side. My wife ate less than half of hers and I ate half of mine before giving up on it. Naturally we did not want a to go box for it. We got there just before 1pm and at first wondered why we were the only customers, but when we got our food I understood why we were the only customers. I thought about asking the waitress if they could microwave our lunch, but with the waitress sitting with her back to us at the bar l didn't think the food was worth getting up to walk over and ask her. Hopefully this was just a bad day for them or the cook didn't show up or something unforeseen caused this big change between last week and this week. read more

Foods just okay, it's cheap so didn't expect too much. Good value for the money! Went in for a drink once and wasn't acknowledged for over 10 minutes so left. read more

Sometimes you find yourself off the beaten path. We were trekking through Nebraska on the 6 through Ashland and were feeling a little peckish. KC's Eastside Saloon was on our left with a number of large motorcycles parked outside. This seemed to be a barometer for the possibility of good food, in addition to the libations that would be served in a small town saloon. The interior had a wonderful atmosphere with tables and chairs to the right and the bar to the left. There were several patrons enjoying their beers at the bar and we were greeted warmly by the two people working the day we were there. We reviewed the menu and chose the Cheese Burger, the Pizza Burger, the Chicken Philly, and the Cheeseballs. The cheese burger was cooked well with melted cheese on a fresh bun and was very juicy and good. The pizza burger was a seasoned patty coated with Italian breading and topped with provolone cheese served on a soft bun. It was quite tasty. The chicken Philly was excellent consisting of seasoned grilled chicken served with grilled onions and peppers on a bun topped with melted cheesy goodness. So flavorful! Accompanying this hearty fare was the order of cheeseballs which were breaded nuggets filled with melted cheese and served with ranch dressing. Yum. We definitely made a good choice with KC's Saloon on this fortuitous stop in Ashland, Nebraska. read more

Cheap beer and plenty of country and western!

The bar has really cheap food and cold beer. The food was all fried but if you stick with a burger you will not be disappointed for the price ($3.25). The beer was ice cold with a wide selection of domestics. I had to remember that I was in Ashland Nebraska so, don't expect to find any crafts beers on the menu. Our family of four for dinner, appetizers, and two rounds of drinks came out to be $42. If you don't want to make the drive into Omaha and want a ice cold beer, somewhat ok cheep food this is the place for you. read more
