First snow of the year hits and I'm out here in a heavy 4,300lb sedan on 20s with old all-seasons... basically driving a hockey puck. I bought this car at the end of last winter, drove it ONCE in the snow, and slid into a curb at like 10 mph because the setup was trash. I knew this year I needed to fix it. I only knew two things going in: 1. I wanted to downsize to 17s for winter, 2. I wanted real snow tires and probably steel wheels. That's it. talked with David (manager). That's where things took off. Instead of trying to sell me fancy wheels or whatever, he recommended 17x7 steelies with Blizzak DM-V2s - exactly what I needed. No upsell, no BS, just the safest, most durable winter setup for my car. I cannot explain how much better my car drives now. Night and day. I honestly feel like I'm in the top 10% of winter setups on the road. I would've never known to ask for this myself. But the service is what put this place over the top. It was the first snow of the year in Minnesota. The place was slammed. Appointments booked through close, people walking in nonstop. And instead of turning everyone away, the whole crew was grinding. When I came to pick up my car, it was 6:15 PM, they close at 6 - and I witnessed them STILL take a walk-in. With like 10 more cars waiting ahead of that walk-in. These guys stayed way past close to make sure people weren't out there sliding around and to serve the community and keep residents safe (truly). And everyone there was cool. Bays were packed with energetic folks who appeared happy to be there - and happy to be working with the rest of the team. No bad vibes. No annoyed techs. Just guys who clearly know what they're doing and actually work well together and enjoy it. Happy shop = good installs. The setup they sold me wasn't some overpriced upsell. It was the RIGHT setup. Safe, durable, winter-dominating. If I went somewhere else I probably would've paid more and gotten something worse. Plus, free rotations, good warranty pricing, all that stuff. After the oil change and before I left, they gave me a list of things that were "wrong" ($5800) with my car. One major one was the valve cover gasket leaking. ($1700+) Leaving Honest 1 with a terrible feeling in my gut, I decided to go to get a different quote. That is where All Imports & Domestic came into play. I called them and talked to Michael and we scheduled for me to come in that day to have them look at the quote I got from Honest 1. I knew I needed new tires and some front end work (Thanks MN roads) and Michael suggested that they clean my entire engine and put dye in the oil to see where the leak(s) and coming from. He sent me a quote for the engine dye, front end work and new tires and on Tuesday of this week, I dropped my car off, hoping they didn't find the problems the Honest 1 told me about. Michael called me in the afternoon to tell me that it wasn't necessary to do the dye test because it is a very minimal leak and that also saw that my car had the wrong size tires on there...so he ordered ones that were right. I picked up my car and had a bill that was a little more then one of the jobs Honest 1 would have done that wasn't needed. This is going to be my forever go to place when I need a oil change or anything else for my current and future cars. I have also had neighbors bring there cars here and how I came to use them in the first place and over the last 20 years we have used them on and off. Never had any issue nor have any neighbors. I definitely would recommended this shop as trustworthy, reliable and dependable which I can tell you is not the case with all places you might consider in Eagan. One place I would stay away from and this is getting side tracked but a relatively new chain which has two locations in Eagan and while I wont explicitly name them I'll just say this about them. They are not HONEST and they market themselves as being that along with being women friendly repair shop. I have first hand experience, knew a person that was honest and worked there and left because he could not in good conscience do what they were asking of him. One being constantly up selling folks and trying to get unneeded work done. My experience along with friend who worked there has also been collaborated by neighbors and friends in the community. They have already gone through one owner but the new ones were no different in my opinion. Ok, I digress but try these guys are the complete opposite so out before you try any place claiming to be HONEST try the guys out or any other place for that matter. Don't just take my word but check out Google reviews where you can find 40+ reviews and 4.5 out of 5 rating. In my opinion, thats remarkable for a garage.

This time they asked about spark plugs and "recommended" replacement every 60k miles. I did mine back at 90k so I'll do it again in 90k, thanks. Last time they told me the "previous guys" did something wrong with my tires and "offered" to fix it for $30. I still dunno if I believe what they said or if they just wanted to make another thirty bucks. They also pushed something about my dashboard last time and this time (because they'd put it in the vehicle's records that I'd declined it). I dunno. Can't get a read on the situation. At least when you decline they don't keep pushing, so there's that. I do know that while I wait in the lobby I overhear the chatter of the employees and the other customers. And it seems like they upsell always, or "discover" this or that problem. Like came in for X, so push Y. Some people might be really appreciative or feel like these guys are "looking out for you," so maybe I'm just cynical and have trust issues. It feels like the dentist where you can't disagree with them because you're not an expert, but you also suspect they're yanking you around because they know you're not an expert and no one wants a broken down car or rotten teeth.
