Maple Grove Tire & Service - No rivets replaced inside the wheel well. Shoddy work!

Rivets within wheel well skirt were simply left off and not reinstalled. The wheel well skirt is loose and flopping around. Nearly $1,400 in shock replacement work done and this is the best they could do? Not acceptable. We called after noticing the white rivets. The person at the front desk denied any knowledge of anything. Lastly, after replacing all four shocks and all four tires with brand new tires, we were told by the manager Damian that the "Jeep Death Wobble" would stop. A month later It did not stop and was just as bad as before all of the above was replaced. We found a reputable and knowledgeable mechanic who replaced the tie rods. That has fixed the Jeep "Death Wobble." Tires Plus should have recommended that we go to a mechanic that could have checked the tie rods first before Tires Plus charged $1,400 to replace the shocks. Replacing the shocks AND the tires DID NOT solve the problem. The root cause of the problem was the tie rods. We wonder now if Tires Plus did a shotty job installing all four shocks?

After paying we were told our cars year and model has a recall, which would've been nice to know before we paid for the work. Car didn't start the next morning, so we called the dealership and found out there is in fact a recall, and made an appointment. Called tires plus back, talked to Ron and explained my frustrations and he hung up on me after trying to explain the situation. If you're in need of car repair, please, do not go here.

The price was reasonable and the turn around was pretty good for the work involved. The staff were very friendly and the store was conveniently close. They told me about the standard charge up front for diagnosing the issue which is about $125 after taxes. I dropped the car off Saturday morning and about 3.5 hours later they called to tell be it was a bad spark plug and ignition coil which would cost about $490 and included the diagnostic charge. I was happy it was not something worse but it also seemed excessively spendy. If I wanted to replace all the spark plugs, I was looking at $1123. They were charging $53 a spark plug. The same exact brand and model cost $15 at your local auto supply store. I know they need to have a mark up but over 3 times? Labor was also I believe excessively charged. They took my car apart to diagnose it because they said they checked all the spark plugs. Why is it another 2.9 hours of labor to put it back together? Anyway, if you need to get your car fixed right away, bring it there and they can do it the next day with friendly staff. You will pay extra for that service though.

I dropped my car at this Youngsteds Maple Grove Auto shop and afterwards received a call about…read morerecommendations for added work needed on my vehicle. I assume that the work was needed since my car did have 120,000 miles on it. The reason I went there instead of a dealer, which is where I typically go, was that the pricing was 70 to $80 cheaper. Upon receiving my vehicle, there were other recommendations that that gentleman spoke about on the phone to have done later, so I assume that at the auto body shop I will be given an explanation of these things. Well, although other customers were being greeted so well, and one even walked in without a face mask and was told "Oh it's you!" I was barely looked at. Here they handed me a paper receipt, and I gave them my money, and that was that, period. The guy even showed impatience while I was trying to get my card from my purse. I guess my money is good enough for them to take, but I'm not good enough for them to explain any other necessary repairs in order to help me keep my vehicle in good condition. I don't know if it's because I'm black, but it is very suspicious. I definitely won't be going back there since I did not feel like a valuable customer although I spent a $1000. I would rather pay the $80 extra and get great customer service from the Toyota dealership. People can go ahead and say that I am just "sensitive," or " overreacting ", but the truth is that with so many struggling businesses in this pandemic, you would think that youngsteds would go above and beyond, or at least be more appreciative of paying customers whether they are familiar with that customer or not.....
