The service advisors and techs are always friendly…read more The price to swap the tires went up from $80 to $100 which is a pretty steep increase considering I'm doing two cars at two swaps a year. I had an appointment but was still quoted an hour for the work which rarely takes even 30 minutes at the Lino Lakes store. The tech told me they set the tire pressure but the TPMS light was on and the sensors were showing the drivers side 2 lbs over and the passenger side 3 lbs under. The tech said the TPMS would go off "after 15 minutes of driving." It did not. Once I added air the TPMS stopped barking. I'll check all four with a gauge when it's cold to see if the readings match what the sensors are reporting to the car's computer and adjust from there.

This time I was told the lower control arm ball joints are the problem and the repair price was $1700, though they'd cover the inspection and alignment cost for our trouble. Being displeased with their effort I decided against having them replace the lowers and will take the vehicle elsewhere to be inspected. Very dismayed to be charged the $1100 and them sending me on my way as if the job was complete. I could literally push down on the hood on the front right side and hear the noise, which was all the more apparent when driving it. I'm shocked they wouldn't verify the problem is resolved after a repair before giving the keys back. Very poor effort on their part and I won't be bringing any more work their way.

I have a 17 yr old vehicle thats rear left brake caliper was sticking. Upon further inspection, the…read morerear left brake pad had worn down to the metal because of the sticking caliper. So I brought it here to get repaired. The good: They do an inspection with photos and put it online for you to see. The service writer was patient and helpful in figuring out what work to get done and was upfront about costs. They offer free loaner cars, which I did not use. The are ASE certified mechanics. The bad: The original inspection addressed everything else they wanted to replace and did not address what caused the sticking caliper - the reason I was there. They did go back and look at it though once I asked, and said the pins probably rusted. They wanted to replace a strut, front brakes and rear brakes, secure a heat shield better, degrease the engine to pinpoint a leak, and do an oil change. It's good to know about that stuff but the rear left brake was the pressing issue. Was originally quoted $1,175 to replace just the rear brakes: new calipers, new rotors, new pads on both the rear left and rear right (but not the front.) The car is only worth $1500, it's a Scion/Toyota not a Mercedes or BMW and it's old. I had been quoted $850 to do all that somewhere else with 3 yr warranty, new parts etc. So I asked what's the minimum they could do to get all 4 brakes working and they said they could replace just the rear left caliper and rear left brake pads for $450. The brake pads come in sets for both rear wheels but the mechanic wouldn't put the rear pads on the right side because he wouldn't work with the rear right caliper - it's too old and rusty, might break (though I would've taken that risk.) He would want to replace it instead. Well if I replaced every old rusty part of my car that still works I'd have a new car, and they charge $300+ to put a new caliper in. And they don't machine resurface rotors even if they're thick enough to. They said they want to warranty the rotors for 3 years instead. Well my car might not last another 3 years. So I chose the $450 option. When I picked it up they gave me the breakdown of the work: $192 for a remanufactured caliper sold at NAPA a few blocks away from the shop for less than $100. $50 for brake pads sold at NAPA for $25. $178 for the labor to install a new caliper and pads on just the rear left wheel. The brakes vibrate because they don't resurface rotors. They gave me the extra set of brake pads that came in the box they wouldn't put on the right side without replacing the caliper. I see a lot of good reviews here but nobody is saying what they paid. And they don't want to work with old rusty parts, just replace them all. Maybe that's typical, but 4 or 5 stars would be going above typical. And the shop is only open until 5pm. It took a week to get me in. All that said, this isn't a negative review. I'm just saying this may be a small, honest family owned shop in Corcoran with just a few mechanics and service people, but it isn't a thrifty one. Far from it. But I do now know all the work my car needs done in the near future and how to tackle it with a more thrifty shop and a probably a parts dealer/service locator like Tirerack.

Yes, service is requested to replace the rivets with black rivets that all match and are flush with…read morethe wheel trim. Tires Plus apparently slapped on whatever they could find at the time. Rivets within wheel well skirt were simply left off and not reinstalled. The wheel well skirt is loose and flopping around. Nearly $1,400 in shock replacement work done and this is the best they could do? Not acceptable. We called after noticing the white rivets. The person at the front desk denied any knowledge of anything. Lastly, after replacing all four shocks and all four tires with brand new tires, we were told by the manager Damian that the "Jeep Death Wobble" would stop. A month later It did not stop and was just as bad as before all of the above was replaced. We found a reputable and knowledgeable mechanic who replaced the tie rods. That has fixed the Jeep "Death Wobble." Tires Plus should have recommended that we go to a mechanic that could have checked the tie rods first before Tires Plus charged $1,400 to replace the shocks. Replacing the shocks AND the tires DID NOT solve the problem. The root cause of the problem was the tie rods. We wonder now if Tires Plus did a shotty job installing all four shocks?

He then drove to Texas and back for a work trip. We then drove up to Duluth last weekend-and noticed a noise coming from one of the tires. Had a friend who knows about cars look at it, turns out the lug nuts were not tightened (he could remove them with his fingers.) Seriously? How do you not make sure the lug nuts are not tightened? Seems like Mechanics 101 to me. This could have been a dangerous situation. What if the lug nuts had come off while he was driving to Texas? Car could have been destroyed, potential traffic accident and injury. Thank goodness none of this happened. We have given Youngstedts multiple chances with car repairs in the past, and their customer service is just awful. Please-save yourself the time and money and go anywhere else. NEVER going back here again.
