Next day they called me said coolant tank needed to be replaced, gave total cost of over $1100. Said cost for part alone was $224. I bought the coolant tank on amazon for $40 and had a honest auto repair in Corcoran replace it for $215. I had to pay Steve's Auto World $175 for pressure check, not sure this was needed as you could see it was leaking from coolant tank. I hope this post will help other people from being overcharged and always get a second opinion

Oh you need your tires to actually be balanced after the wheels are put on, that will be a charge too. Oh and you want air in the tires, that will be an extra charge (semi-kidding on that last one) but seriously to just fix a wheel scrape it seemed reasonable (like $100-$200) then the extra charges almost doubled that price so I would pass and it's honestly cheaper to just buy a new wheel somewhere else and have them put it on...seriously they are that over priced. Well when I got the car back I noticed they had chipped the fresh paint on my strut tower near the upper strut mount nuts. They were careless while loosing or tightening the upper strut nut and their socket slipped off and chipped the paint. If that's not bad enough when I was up racing at BIR I had to adjust my coilovers and found that they had way over torqued the lower strut mount bolt, stripping it out. I thought these guys were professionals, it's an embarrassment. Tires plus could have done a better job. If you value your car I wouldn't take it here. Very disappointed with their workmanship.

The admitted to likely blowing a fuse and then proceeded to REFUSE to fix the problem because they could cause FURTHE damage. STAY FAR FAR FR AWAY. This guy adter waiting almost 2 hours of which I walked outside a few times and saw my car with hood down no one in it or engine hood open. They saw me a few times then decided to tell this BS. Michael said he has to pay his mechanic for the time. This is the same guy that called me a liar about what Tyler who I had always was getting information about my car told me I would get my car back. Make a long story short. He had me give them a 5 star rating and he would discount my repair bill. So that's why this location looks so great. The so called manager is less then honest. That Firestone is less then honest. Just a money grab location. Find any other place but there. Honestly. Also Check your so called masterHonda tech. Laughable. Didn't test drive the car. Just replaced parts. Also lied to my warranty company that's not always honest because of a warranty. Tyler was fine. Didn't seem like he was being less then honest. I actually want my 85 79 credited to my card. I was made to give you a 5 star to reduce the fee I never should have been charged. Their diagnostic wasn't right when got the approval of which they got paid 3,000.00 while lying to Silver Rock. Yes, service is requested to replace the rivets with black rivets that all match and are flush with…read morethe wheel trim. Tires Plus apparently slapped on whatever they could find at the time. Rivets within wheel well skirt were simply left off and not reinstalled. The wheel well skirt is loose and flopping around. Nearly $1,400 in shock replacement work done and this is the best they could do? Not acceptable. We called after noticing the white rivets. The person at the front desk denied any knowledge of anything. Lastly, after replacing all four shocks and all four tires with brand new tires, we were told by the manager Damian that the "Jeep Death Wobble" would stop. A month later It did not stop and was just as bad as before all of the above was replaced. We found a reputable and knowledgeable mechanic who replaced the tie rods. That has fixed the Jeep "Death Wobble." Tires Plus should have recommended that we go to a mechanic that could have checked the tie rods first before Tires Plus charged $1,400 to replace the shocks. Replacing the shocks AND the tires DID NOT solve the problem. The root cause of the problem was the tie rods. We wonder now if Tires Plus did a shotty job installing all four shocks?

I called several towing companies looking for a rough estimate and some guidance on getting rid of my 2010 Toyota Corolla. We set up a time that worked for both of us, they came out to my car in South Minneapolis, looked it over, handled the paperwork, and paid me on the spot. I was helped by Seth who was amazing as well, showed up right on time and was super kind and explained everything thoroughly and what he was willing to offer based on its condition. He would only say "the machine is designed not to damage cars" (well I would certainly hope so!) and that this "doesn't normally happen" (again I wouldn't expect it to happen frequently, but it DID happen) he offered me $100 claiming I could get paint correction for ~$150-200 (false) Avoid this place if you like your paint unscratched.

I went in today to fix a tire that was blown out on my car and Buddy took great care of me. This was my second time at the Maple Grove location, so he had a general idea of what work needed to be done which made the whole experience better and more efficient. Nathan and Nick were also a great help. They made sure that all of my car problems were assessed and taken care of during my visit and they made sure that all of my questions were answered as well. Since moving to MN though, every time I leave my car with this location, when they are done serving the car, they park it and leave it unlocked. I grew up in very poor neighborhoods where crime was fairly frequent. You don't leave houses or cars unlocked unless you're inviting crime to happen. I know crime is likely less frequent here, but if it's not standard procedure, if a customerspecifically requests their car to be locked, Discount Tire should honor that request. Yesterday was the 3rd time that I specifically asked the employee not to leave it open, confirmed they knew where to place the key card and how to tell it was locked on my car (mirrors fold in). He assured me it would be locked. I let him know that it was especially important to me because my car would have my set of winter tires in it and I was going on a bike ride, so would not see a notification that my car had been left unlocked. When I came to pick it up, I noted to the same employee that the car had again been left unlocked. The employee insisted he had made sure that the mirrors folded in, but when I said it was still unlocked and I had purposely turned off my bluetooth to make sure it wasn't opening for my phone when I drove up, and I had received a message that it was unlocked, he said the car was too sensitive and too hard to figure out. I told him I'd had the car for 5 years and there hadn't been a problem previously. He then said that if I got a message it was unlocked, then I should lock it. I responded that I wouldn't know if they were still working on it, plus I think as a business that works on cars, they should know how to lock the cars that are in their possession. He put his hands up and said, "I guess your car is just too fancy for me to figure out. It's too fancy." At this point I was feeling embarrassed because other people in the lobby could hear him, so I just turned and left. Once I got to my car, I called their regional office and shared my experience. She said I should receive a call from one of this location's facility managers and that she would ask them to provide training for that employee about how to lock cars with card keys, but I never received a follow-up call, so it seems like their manager must agree with their employee's assessment that my 5-year old car, a car that my son just purchased a new one for $20,000 less than the average vehicle price in the US, is just too fancy for them. It's an average-priced car with a reputation for cool technology, but for some reason, too fancy for Discount Tire to lock when requested. Maybe our other 16-year-old car is too fancy, too. I'm not fancy. I just want my car to be locked when they're done with its service. I don't think that's an unreasonable request. I should not be made to feel bad for wanting Disount to figure out how to lock cars with key cards. UPDATE: the manager called me today and we had a very nice conversation. I do think that the employee tried to make sure my car was locked and I think part of the reason he reacted defensively was because he did try to ensure it was locked and wasn't sure how it ended up being unlocked. The manager mentioned that many cars now lock when the car fob moves out of range and that employees may need additional training to understand that card keys don't do that. The manager told me that the employee recognized that he had not responded in the best way. I also said that I understood that because I felt frustrated at not being able to ensure that my car was secured when it was in their care. Because I like Discount Tires and because I understand that even good employees can have a not great moment, I will be back to this store. I'll further update my rating then.

Any shop that says they don't do electrical stuff in this day and age is a red flag- most cars are essentially computers now. They were one of the only shops that was able to look at and fix my car same day before Xmas. I can't tell you how amazing it was to have a car during the holidays and not be Ubering all over the place or worse not being able to see my family during the holidays. The value seems good.
