WARNING! DO NOT GO HERE! My truck sat for 6 days and a chipmunk chewed some wiring in my truck. I had no choice but to get towed a mile to this place. They told me that it was my wiring harness. For that, 4 new tires, 4 new tire sensors, and labor, was just over $2k. Not a bad price. HOWEVER, When I got my vehicle back, left front blinker out, left 4-way flasher out, rear left license plate light out, washer fluid pump doesn't work, and left fog light out. So I took it back the next day. I waited until mid afternoon to call for an update. They said "Well this was more of a problem than we thought. It's probably just the bulbs, the washer pump isn't part of the engine harness. We'll take a look at that." The way they were talking made it seem like I was going to have to pay for it. So of course I got defensive I won't lie. But then I asked if they would fix it. Their response "Well of course we'll make sure the lights will work before we get it back to ya." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? You didn't think it was a good idea to check to ensure the vehicle was in working condition before you have it back to me in the first place!? When I said this to them their response was "The truck wasn't running and we got the truck running." Just wow. How about you admit your garage did a poor job and did the absolute bear minimum. I specifically asked when I dropped it off if this was something they could fix. They assured me "Yes." Clearly this was above your scope of practice. So they call me back later in the day and say "Ok so we have no idea why the washer pump doesn't work but we can continue to look into it. The fog light and license plate light we changed the bulbs and they work. We fixed the blinker problem but now it blinks really fast and we really don't know why. Here's the deal, we can keep digging and fix this, or we can put it back together for you since you missed work and you can have your truck back." Due to the absolutely poor service, missing two days of work, all for there to be more problems with the truck (meaning you said it was fixed and all you did was get it running), I opted to go somewhere else. When I got home I popped the hood and when they said they would "put the truck back together" again, poor service. The wires in the engine harness are just laying there instead of in their protective plastic sleeve, the problems they stated are still there, AND there is no warning light on the dash to let me know if I leave my lights on. I see that the owners respond to bad reviews so I fully expect them to try to refute what I say. They'll probably say "Well we told you we would make this right but you chose to take your vehicle. We left the wires out because we thought you would bring the truck back to resume fixing it, etc etc." After this entire ordeal, you think I'm going to head back!? Avoid this place at all costs because you'll be out your money with more of a headache. HIGHLY SUGGEST NOT GOING HERE EVER! RESPONSE to owner's comment: I even said it was a good deal. That was not the problem. The problem is POOR SERVICE plain & simple. The fact is, when someone takes their vehicle to you, a supposed reputable auto repair shop, customers expect their vehicle to work/fully function. As a business owner, as an employee working at the repair shop, one would like to think when you return a product back to the customer, you would do a thorough job, to ensure everything is in working function. The fact is, you should have never even called me in the first place to tell me my truck was done had you actually done a simple functions check. It's wiring. It's electricity. Do your due diligence and check to make sure things are working. But your response says it all. You simply don't care enough about the customer. I don't care how long it took you to tear apart my vehicle. That's your job. Had you done it correctly in the first place, checked everything, you would have realized the extent of the damage ORIGINALLY, & charged me for more labor hours which I would've happily paid for, bc you corrected everything. read more

Made appointment for an alignment 9 days in advance... as their closing hour approached (on a Friday), I called to check if it was done. They stated that they "never got to it." I asked "Well, when can you do it?" Her response was "Next week". I said "Next week as in..." She replied "Tuesday, Wednesday... Thursday." I can not express how pissed I was/am! after I got my car towed to elk river tire and auto they and I when there to get an update on my car they didn't even know what car was my car and I got it towed there after it wouldn't start and I put a new battery in it and they told me that the battery was cracked so I took the battery back to where a bought it from and I got a new battery even though it wasn't cracked. after that they told me it was the alternator and when I ask for the reading of the voltage of the alternator they told me it was broken. after they told me that I knew they were lying so I got my car towed to precision tune auto in elk River come to find out nothing was wrong with my alternator or battery the only thing wrong with my one of the fuse box's and it was not even as expensive as this alternator That wasn't even the problem. these people do not know what they're doing, and I would never bring my car there read more

Won't go back. When draining oil they let it back flow on to skid plate. Got home and 1/2 hour later noticed at least 1/2 quart of oil drain from skid plate all over my driveway. If I could give a zero I would. I have been to this place 10 years ago when I first moved to Elk River and had a very bad experience. It took over two 1/2 hours to get my oil changed after I was told that it would be less than 45 minutes. I went there one time after that to get just an ESTIMATE on tires. The price was 50% higher than 2 other local stores. I was told that they don't match prices. To try and give them a 3rd! shot we brought a vehicle there to get a muffler fixed. $500. Seemed high to me but the GM told me that they match prices. I found prices at two local shops both within 2 miles of there for over 35% less. I went back to Elk River Tire and Auto and the General Manger Carrie told me they don't match prices when they are that low and that I should take my vehicle somewhere else. This place is a ripoff, they have always been overpriced. Do not go here. read more

I brought my grand Prix in because the previous owner had HID headlights installed and they went bad. At tire and auto they told me the factory wiring had been removed to accommodate the hid wiring and somehow it would cost over 400$ to revert to factory lights. Not wanting to pay 400 just for headlights I chose to defer and looked elsewhere. I happen to know the previous owner of the car and he told me that was bs, he did not remove the factory wiring to add the hid kit. Sure enough when I took it to precision auto tune down the road it took all of 2 seconds for him to find the wires for the factory bulbs. And precision didn't even charge me anything. I just got my own bulbs and plugged them in myself. I would have been out 400$ if I had chosen to get work done at tire and auto. I've had work done at tire and auto a few times over the years and this makes me wonder how many times I've been ripped off. Obviously I won't be returning and I happen to work with several people in elk river who need routine maintenance on their cars. We regularly talk about where not to go to get work done. I love working with them. They searched and found me great prices with a mail in rebate on the tires - that was an added bonus! And, the oil change prices - even for full synthetic on a 2014 GMC Sierra - which takes extra oil - their prices beat WalMart Tire & Lube Express. They are always friendly, but the reason I keep going back there is I TRUST them. I need someone that I can TRUST to tell me the truth about what I really need for my vehicles. I am not a "car guy" - so I need someone I can trust that will not sell me a bunch of things I really don't need. I TRUST the guys at Elk river Tire and Auto. Mike is really great to work with. Over the past 10 years, as my two sons went through high school, then to college, we had many cars, older beat up cars, and these guys were always reliable about telling us exactly what we really needed done on each vehicle, without up-selling us a bunch of extra stuff we really did not need and could not afford. This is very important because a lot of places tell you that you need everything under the sun done on your vehicles, even if it is an old car on its last legs that your kid is just driving 3 miles back and forth to school each day. Yeah, you could spend thousands to fix everything in the world on an old car, but Mike will tell me what he would do for his kids - what I really need for them to stay safe, rather than doing a bunch of extra stuff. I love working with them and trust them with my new truck as much as with my old cars. A year ago they saved me a TON of money when, during a routine oil change, they told me they noticed a small leak on the transfer case on my new truck. I took the truck in to the dealer and they determined the entire transmission was messed up and they had to rebuild the entire thing. It was all done under warranty, but I would not have noticed that if these guys had not pointed it out to me. If that had not been done under warranty, I would have been out big bucks. I did not receive a response and sent a note back saying I was disappointed that they did not honor their coupon.
