Alright, this is gonna be long, but people deserve to know why this place is legit, and why you as a possible customer should take your vehicle to this location. First snow of the year hits and I'm out here in a heavy 4,300lb sedan on 20s with old all-seasons... basically driving a hockey puck. I bought this car at the end of last winter, drove it ONCE in the snow, and slid into a curb at like 10 mph because the setup was trash. I knew this year I needed to fix it. I only knew two things going in: 1. I wanted to downsize to 17s for winter, 2. I wanted real snow tires and probably steel wheels. That's it. talked with David (manager). That's where things took off. Instead of trying to sell me fancy wheels or whatever, he recommended 17x7 steelies with Blizzak DM-V2s - exactly what I needed. No upsell, no BS, just the safest, most durable winter setup for my car. I cannot explain how much better my car drives now. Night and day. I honestly feel like I'm in the top 10% of winter setups on the road. I would've never known to ask for this myself. But the service is what put this place over the top. It was the first snow of the year in Minnesota. The place was slammed. Appointments booked through close, people walking in nonstop. And instead of turning everyone away, the whole crew was grinding. When I came to pick up my car, it was 6:15 PM, they close at 6 - and I witnessed them STILL take a walk-in. With like 10 more cars waiting ahead of that walk-in. These guys stayed way past close to make sure people weren't out there sliding around and to serve the community and keep residents safe (truly). And everyone there was cool. Bays were packed with energetic folks who appeared happy to be there - and happy to be working with the rest of the team. No bad vibes. No annoyed techs. Just guys who clearly know what they're doing and actually work well together and enjoy it. Happy shop = good installs. The setup they sold me wasn't some overpriced upsell. It was the RIGHT setup. Safe, durable, winter-dominating. If I went somewhere else I probably would've paid more and gotten something worse. Plus, free rotations, good warranty pricing, all that stuff. Bottom line: If you need tires or wheels, just go here. They earned a long-term customer out of me. Highly recommend. read more

I was out of town visiting family in Eagan when I noticed that I had less than 20 pounds pressure in my rear tire. I needed to drive 800 miles over the next couple of days so I stopped at discount tires to see if I needed a new tire. Meghan was great. From the abundance of options they had to choose, they narrowed it down and suggested a few options based on what was ideal for my specific needs. They told me the entire process would take a specific timeframe yet they had me out before that time. Everyone was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. A lot of other businesses can learn a lot of whoever manages this franchise. No matter which Discount Tire you visit the customer service is exemplary. Absolutely fantastic! I procrastinated new tires and then panicked at the first snowfall, but the staff at Discount was wonderful. I called and got a quote at 8:30am, made a 12:30pm appointment for that day, and was back on the road by 1:05pm. The store was clearly busy but while I waited I saw the staff warmly welcome every walk-in and never once did they rush the customer. Three weeks ago a tire sensor went out and I went to this place to replace it. My car indicated it was the passenger rear sensor that wasn't working. The guy on the front disagreed and said it was a different sensor. I paid 60$ to have it replaced. Four days later the same passenger rear sensor stopped working and they diagnosed that it was a different sensor malfunctioning. They replaced one of the other sensors and I paid 60$ again. The same thing happened 3 days later and I am furious because they kept changing the wrong sensor. This place is run by scammers and liars who will repair the wrong part and reset your sensor only so you can come back a week later and pay them more money! $120 + tax down the drain. read more

I went to the Eagan location today on the first day of real snow fall in Minnesota. The line was very long (as to be expected) but the two guys working up front apologized for the wait on a few occasions. I waited in line for about 30 minutes and when I get up front I find out my appointment was for next Monday (not today)...totally my fault. The guy helping me said he would still get my car in that night. I was very thankful. He was very friendly and helpful. I was quoted that my car would be worked on after they took care of 33 others. The people that work at this discount tire were still there 3 and 1/2 hours after their scheduled closing time still servicing vehicles when I went to pick up. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Above and beyond all of my expectations. What a great crew they have working there. I have used other discount tire locations in the past but was never impressed like I was today. read more

I was walking out of work when I saw the always dreaded flat tire! Thankfully, Discount was here to help! I called to see if an appointment was required and they were able to fit me in same day. Everyone was beyond nice. Darryl was the employee who did my check-in and he was very pleasant and nice. They found a large nail as the culprit of my tire which they removed and repaired for free! Nobody tried to pressure me into purchasing things I didn't need, even when my visit itself ended up being free! I'll absolutely be back to this location for all of my tire needs. read more

I'm a fan of Discount Tire as I have visited several of their locations around the cities the past few years. My most recent visits to the Eagan location have been for their complimentary tire rotation when you purchase your tires from Discount Tire. Important Tip: Rotate your tires every 5-7 thousand miles or it will cost you money. I learned the hard way a few years back and ended up purchasing new tires ahead of schedule. I love that they have Saturday hours and that appointments can be scheduled on their website. I scheduled my appointment for 8:00am on a Saturday which is the time they open. I had put a comment in my appointment about needing to be done within 20-25 minutes as I had to be at work at 8:30am and if that would not work to contact me to reschedule. Well I arrived a little before 8:00am and was the first person through their door when they opened. I was greeted by a nice gentleman who confirmed my appointment and pulled my car in. They have water and coffee in their waiting room which is a nice benefit. Approximately 16 minutes later they were backing my car out and I was ready to go. This appointment could not have gone any more perfect. We have had to occasionally wait at some of their locations when they are really busy however this day was perfect. Great service and great experience. You know I'll be back again to get my tires rotated and we'll need to purchase new tires in about a year. read more

I normally have good experiences at Discount Tire, but this location in Eagan has sullied their reputation in my book. In August 2014, I brought my VW Passat in for a tire balance and rotation. I made an appointment ahead of time and I expected the whole job to be completed in a half hour or so. However this was not the case. The entire process took an hour start to finish, and the demeanor of the employees, especially the manager, seemed overly lazy and laid back to me. The employees/technicians even let another manager have his tires changed out for free while my car sat unnoticed on the lift next to his. In addition, the overall behavior and discipline of the workers was more along the lines of a 12 year old than that of a grown adult. Rolling tires into the wall and sitting on the hoods of customer's cars while laughing about irrelevant topics should not be tolerated. Lastly, I found out that the technicians didn't correctly set the tire pressure in my tires (they were off by 10 psi) when I checked them myself after getting home. This combined with the hour long process of balancing and rotating my tires has left me cold about Discount Tire in Eagan, and I don't intend on coming back anytime soon. read more

I blew a tire and took my car in to have the two front replaced. The guys at Discount Tire let me know that I had cracked my wheel at the same time I blew the tire so it needed to be repaired before it was usable. Not only did the manager take care of sending my wheel out for repair but he also had a loaner so I didn't have to drive around in the spare for a week. I fought a low-tire warning over the weekend and finally realized it needed to get fixed asap. I also knew I would probably need all new tires so I went in expecting that. I was hoping to get it done early in the morning so I could still get to work in time (this was a Monday morning). I looked up Discount Tire reviews and Tires Plus. Tires Plus was open, but had lower ratings than Discount Tire. I waited the 30 minutes in their parking lot for Discount Tire to open. I'm glad I waited! I was keeping a lookout to see when they'd unlock the doors so I could zip right in. To my pleasant surprise, the employee who unlocked the door that morning came right out to my car to see what I needed. I thought this was such a nice gesture. He helped me pick out tires and even pulled up different kinds on his screen to compare options. I never felt pressured and felt comfortable with my purchase. I was in and out of there in about an hour. While I waited I watched the employees treat everyone with respect and at a steady pace. I had a great experience at Discount Tire today. I came out to the parking lot after work and found my car with a flat. 4 new tires and 1 has a screw in it. I called to see how late they were open and was told if it gets close to closing time and I'm on my way they will. wait. I got there just before closing. Tim helped me figure out which tire was the right one for my car. Even after mounting one tire, and then I chose a different one, everyone was cheerful and patient. They got me back on the road in a very short time and i didn't feel like I had to pay more than I should have. Great customer service. Thank you!! I was greeted by Paul, the manager, as I walked in. I had made an appointment online the night before, after the store was closed. Paul had prepared for my arrival, and knew the reason for my visit. We talked about what I wanted (check a flat tire to see if repair or replacement was the best option, and check the rim for damage as well), and Paul told me his recommendations and was willing to work with my budget. He checked tread wear on all four tires as well. I was offered a seat in the waiting area, where they have free coffee and bottled water. About 15 minutes later, Joe came in with my old rim to show me the extent of the damage. I already had a pretty good idea, but it was nice to actually see the issue with my own eyes. We walked up to the cash register, he put in all the parts, labor, fees, and tax to provide me with an estimate. I was allowed to split the cost between two credit cards with no hassle, and the work on my car was finished very quickly. The customer area is immaculately clean, and the staff are friendly and professional. There was no pressure to upsell me, or get me to buy additional items or services. I was in and out with a new rim and two new tires in 50 minutes, and I will definitely be back in the future. read more

I've been struggling with an often low tire and can't afford to have it replaced just yet. I went into Discount Tire after calling and being told I didn't need a reservation. The nice guy (TJ I think his name was) got my info and I waited patiently in their comfortable chair with a comp bottle of water. I was only there about 45 minutes when another gentlemen worker let me know I was all set. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do, he said no and sent me on my way with the invoice (it was a free fix since I've purchased tires there). I do wish he would have given me more information about what the issue with the tire was but overall I'm happy with the service I received. read more

So i have had good luck with another discount tire location in the past (white bear) so i gave the new Eagan store a try. Here was my experience over two visits. 1. New set of tires, took some new wheels in for a 2013 jetta, and noticed when i got them home was missing one of the VW centercaps. I had to buy new one. Also never recd the rebate on the tires. 2. Several months later... realized had never recd the rebate and called. They told me to call a number, and never offered to research... terrible after the sale service! 3. Happened to go back for two tires on a family member vehicle that was being donated to charity. Had to sit through 10 minnutes of guy with clipboard measuring tread and making notes. He then told me i needed 4 tires... i told him again, it was being donated and just replace the front tires... he then proceeded to give me a line of BS about how he could not replace the front tires, as they only replace the two rear tires. I told him thanks but no thanks... his quote was "wait a minute, i am willing to work with you on this"... Wow... felt like i was at the worst of the worst used car dealers. I walked out never to go back. There are other places to go... and other discount tire locations... would not recommend this to my fellow yelpers. If they were giving tires away for free i wouldnt step foot in this place ever again! read more

I have been a customer at this location since it opened and previously at the Apple Valley location, and have purchased many sets of tires for several different vehicles over the years. Historically, I have always received excellent pricing and top notch service from this location. Today, I visited the Eagan store in person to get a tire quote for a vehicle. I brought proof of documentation pricing from an online competitor indicating a $216 cost for a set of 4 tires plus a $45.60 delivery fee and $19.34 of tax or $280.94 total price which also includes road hazard protection, plus another $49 for tire installation. Andrew quoted me $387.95 and when I asked him for the price match guarantee, he stated: "it is not apple to apples". I challenged the installation pricing and provided an installation pricing quote from another company. Again, I asked for the price match guarantee. He provided me with an arrogant response and stated: "we don't sell many of this tire brand, we don't stock them here, so I have to special order them and this is what it is". What a terrible and totally disrespectful response! This was an exasperating experience. With an employee like this, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Tire had a slow leak so brought it in to this location expecting to be told it was not repairable and I would need four brand new tires since my vehicle is AWD. To my pleasant surprise, they took it into the shop almost immediately and it was out in maybe 20 minutes. They found a small piece of metal in the tread, patched it, and charged me nothing. And that, folks, is how you do business. Don't nickel-and-dime your customers on $25 repairs and instead give them happy experiences that will result in $800 new tire purchases later in the fall. read more

If I could give 50 stars I would. One of my tires seemed to have slow leak. I didn't know if was the December cold or something more, but I had a big road trip planned so I figured I better have it checked out. I arrived at Discount Tire over the lunch hour on a Friday. Was greeted by a friendly guy at the counter who said it would just be an hour to an hour and a half if I wanted to wait. It was ready in an hour fifteen. During my short wait I noticed that the staff looked like they really knew what they were doing and all of the other customers seemed to be pleased with the service. The service tech came out to tell me they did indeed find a nail in the tire and made the repair. They also checked to make sure my spare tire was properly inflated per my request. So far so good - but the best was still to come. When I went up to the counter to pay I was told there would be no charge. I said, "But you just fixed my tire!" The counter guy said he knew that and there still would be no charge. I said THANKS! And told him I'd be giving them a really good Yelp review. So here it is. read more

I wanted to take a moment to talk about the experience I had at the Eagan Discount Tire location today. I've had a lot of bad luck with tires and dented rims in the last four months, so when I got my third flat tire last night I pretty much lost my shit. Tires aren't cheap, and neither are rims, so when my tiny go-cart of a car got stuck in a snow bank at 10pm and I saw the flat, I just couldn't help but cry. My brother suggested we go to Discount Tire in the morning and I mentally prepared for more dented rim news. When we arrived, the staff immediately came out of the store to help me carry the tire in. They took down my information and said it would be done in about an hour (even though it was really busy) and they'd call if it couldn't be patched. Not only did they finish in less than an hour, but it was patched... and it was free. Let me emphasize that again.. IT WAS FREE. I can't tell you how much that meant to me. It was such a relief, and I think they may have gotten annoyed at how many times I said thank you. I work in an industry where we don't hear a lot of positive feedback, and hearing complaints all of the time gets really annoying. I truly believe when you have great service it needs to be at acknowledged, and the staff today was wonderful. They carried the tire back out to my brothers car for me, and even gave me information about a rim service that was far more affordable than where I'm currently going. Their customer service was kind, prompt, and professional, and I really hope they're rewarded for it. I will be telling ALL of my friends and family about Discount Tire. TOTAL FAIL! Needed my right front tire repaired and a rotation. They said they fixed the tire and rotated as requested. When the car was picked up the right front indicated 30psi, right rear 35psi, left front 39 psi, left rear 37psi. The next day at the mall the right front TPM flashed that there was 15lbs of air in the right front tire. Limped the car to gas station for air and pumped in a bunch. Still showing right front at 15lbs. Thought the station's air not working properly. Went to another place and put more air in. No change. Hit the tire pressure button to display all tires and you guessed it, the right rear showed 50psi with all the air I put in it. They never flashed the TPMS system to show the accurate position of the tires. Meanwhile the tire still leaks. Oh brother. read more

My daughter inlaw and i went shopping for my grandsons xmas presents and traded cars with my other dauther since she was driving further that day and had a slow leak. We went from toys r us right to eagan discount tires. My other daughter broght all presents in from her vehicle that night and i didn't make sure that anything was stolen. Sure enough my grandsons xmas presents the smallest most expensive bags were gone. Talked manager and he said he would talk to them and call me back and also said never happened in 19 yrs.
