Fortunately, Motomaxx was able to get me in the next day and is conveniently close to the dealership where the car was. They also charged far less than some other nearby places. I came with a book, prepared to wait a while. They have a small lounge area, but the seating is comfortable and there is a tiny fireplace, nice to have on a cold rainy day, I was almost disappointed they finished with the car so quickly! They said that was partly because it was in such good shape that there wasn't a lot to investigate, so very good news. The other thing I noticed was that I was treated with respect and given a rundown of the results. This has not always been my experience as an older female at other places. If I lived in this area , I would probably become a regular.

Lane, at the front desk answered all of my inquiries without making me feel like a bother; especially given it was an hour before closing. Despite having a full load the following day, and due to limited hours later in the week, he advised that if I came first thing next morning, they would squeeze my car in. I had him add me to list for 7:30am (just in case) and advised that I was going to check out one more mechanic (nearby). Ultimately I went with Lowell's! The interaction with Lane felt more authentic. I appreciate that he was willing to give a range, and advise how price would vary based on if it was a this problem, verses a that problem. The next morning I dropped my car off. Without knowing when they'd get to it, I just took a Lyft to a restaurant in NE for breakfast and figured I'd walk to work from there. My car was ready by 10am and while I could have gone back for it, I decided to wait till later in the day, which they were fine with. The other place had a loaner car, a waiting area, and would have cost less (based on the diagnosed issue, front brake pad & rotor). However, although I would have LOVED to save money, I'm happy I went with Lowell's... the place that made me feel assured. I would return.

If I have to drop my car off, one of the guys will give me a ride back to the office since I work close by. I came here a while back to get my oil change but was told I came "too early" to do an oil change…read morebecause I still had oil left. However the guy mentioned that my oil was super super low. So I didn't understand why he couldn't just do it because I was already there and the oil was low already. I literally came a week later and was able to get it changed. So I'm annoyed about it especially with traveling back and forth and having to come in super early to avoid long lines. Also when I left the first time I had an odd feeling about coming back here but decided to anyways. Which now I won't be coming back here because they never gave me any papers at the end of my service (to see what they did and much it was). Which was really strange because the Jiffylube in BP always gave me papers. It seemed really shady to me and I'm just over it. Will be going back to the BP one instead from now on.
