My car was having a very sad day-- wasn't starting at all. Trinh walked down the block to where I was parked and used some kind of magical battery pack to get her running. Then he helped me drive to the shop. He called me with a quote less than 20 minutes later, and had all the work done within a few hours. Trinh obviously knows his stuff. Amazing customer service. Highly recommend! read more

I had a great experience with Trinh's Auto Repair. Meeting the owner to drop off my vehicle, my gut told me he was honest. I don't think that's a common experience when it comes to car repairs. And my gut was right! The repair was perfect. The price was VERY reasonable. AND they went above and beyond, repairing a minor oil leak I had just mentioned off-handedly. They remembered my comment and took care of it for me. How many times with auto repairs can you say that you KNOW you were dealt with honestly and that you felt you should pay MORE for the excellent services received? That was my experience with Trinh's. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Good, good people. read more

Was able to get me in quickly and had my car all done in less then 24 hours. Very honest and fair pricing! Recently moved to the neighborhood and so happy I found this shop! read more

I needed some pads and rotors for my brakes and got a few estimates. One of the chain places told me I needed some "mid range" rotors and gave me a quote. I had heard good things about Trinh's, and it's in my neighborhood so I decided to go in and talk to them. I told the owner Vi (pronounced Vee) what I needed and he came back with a quote that was nearly $150 cheaper than the chain store. He asked when I wanted it done and it was done well and on time for exactly the amount quoted. I will definitely be back to Trinh's when I need more work done on my car. Vi is a no-nonsense guy but they do good work and they will be getting my business from now on. read more

Wind. One of the things it's good for is blowing away unwanted stuff. A sideview mirror shouldn't be one. Sadly, mine had a showdown against the side of the garage door some time ago and it's been dangling freely in the wind ever since. Thanks to Trinh, the replacement mirror was successfully installed along with an oil change in less than an hour. I was thoroughly impressed that the people there didn't only patch up my broken mirror, they also cleaned up the traces of the gorilla glue that I used to hold the old unit up to the side of my car (#thereIfixedit). With all that amazing service, the total cost was only $70. I'm thoroughly amazed and satisfied with this place and I'll definitely return again for my future car-related needs. read more

I have excellent service from Trinh's. I highly recommend them. I have used their services for at least 2 years. The first repair they did 2 other mechanic in my home town could not find the problem. They both said it needed a new engine and would cost slot of money. They found the problem immediately. They are highly skilled. They repaired my car for a very small fraction of what my hometown mechanics asked. I drive 60 miles to have my car maintained by them. I trust no one else. Another highlight is their wonderful customer service. They aim to please their customers !!! Anne read more

Let's start with how great this place is. I have been going here for years and probably already reviewed this place once, but I love how fast they get things done. Price beats anywhere that you would normally go. They are super friendly and don't lie about the price, they always stick to it. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

WARNING: TRINH'S STAFF WILL STEAL YOUR STUFF! I hate to have to say it, but 0 stars for stealing from your customer. I was grateful to find Trinh's, impressed by reviews, loved their no frills approach, and even though it took 3 days longer than they said to look at it and give me a diagnosis, I was patient. Car was towed in on Wednesday and after checking in each day and not getting called back, I was given the update on Saturday. It's a busy car repair season. While my car was at Trinh's though, someone saw fit to take a handful of items. The list includes a total of 4 hot/cold bags for my work as a courier as well as a new-in-box lumbar massage cushion that was a gift to help with my injured back. Thanks Trinh's! ...For stealing the things that I need to work moderately comfortably. Didn't anyone want the baby clothes for my partner's low income pregnant clients? You missed those. As suggested, I *will* come back and demand compensation for my stolen belongings. Let's see how you follow through on that. P.S. Don't forget to also read the "reviews that are not currently recommended." To anyone reading, I wish you the best being your own judge. read more

A friend from this neighborhood recommended Trinh's as he had taken a few of his cars there. I was skeptical since I have an Audi, but you see foreign makes in the lot (Mercedes, Saab, etc.). I've taken my car there for minor fixes and bigger projects and each time I've been really happy with the prices and speed of service. My heater fan wasn't blowing once and I thought it would be a major deal. Turned out to be a fuse. Vi (the owner?) could have raked me over the coals but he didn't. He even offered a free oil change on my next visit. read more

I love this place! Trinh's has always been able to fix my car at a fraction of the price of other places. I love their honesty and transparency. They showed me my old part so I could see how bad it was when they repaired it. I've never had a mechanic do that for me before! I have always been able to drop my car off and they will look at it and call me back later in the day with an estimate. I have had these guys repair windows, clutches, brakes, fuel lines and many other repairs. This is the only spot that I take my cars to. read more

I went to this place when it had a previous owner, who was awesome and about as honest as you can get. Vi is the new owner at Trinh's, and he has been just as fair to me as the previous owner. Here's my latest example. I have a 1999 VW Passat with 180,000 miles on it. The alternator went out in it, and there is a car shop a mile from where I live. I'm thinking for convenience sake, I'll see what they want for a new one. Dredd Scott automotive wanted $700 for a new alternator. Trinh has people who tow cars for him, and I was in Hopkins. The average price for a tow from them is $80, and his price was $280. So for $360 I got it towed and fixed, which is still less than what a regular shop wanted. So I will tell anyone out there that needs car work done, get a quote from whoever you think is your best, cheapest mechanic, and then call Trinh's, you won't go anywhere else after that. read more

My specific experience: dropped the car off in the morning and the work was done as promised and for a fair price (isn't this what everyone wants?!). Wheel speed sensor, sway bar, front brakes/rotors. Many thanks to Vi. I am a fan. Thanks to Yelp and the revewers read more

Really nice experience at a local shop. They were very honest and did not oversell the repair. We had the car finished the same day for a suspension issue. I would recommend them any time for a decent shop to service an older car --- the car in question was a 2001 Ford focus. read more

We have two older cars, a Honda and a Ford. These guys do a great job on both for an extremely fair price and they're fast. This is a bare bones kind of shop. Don't expect any ass kissing or free coffee. Expect that these guys know what they're doing and they give you a fair price. Your car will not be vacuumed out when you get an oil change. Your wiper fluid will not be topped off. You will receive an oil change, for $20 and you'll like it. read more

Five star for fast service and honesty! I was having a lot of trouble with my Mercedes. It had a bad transmission. I heard about Vy from my friend. The first time I called him and asked about the service price, I shocked. He quote $2400 for the rebuilt transmission and free toll, free rental car, which more than half what the dealer quote $5600 for the rebuilt transmission or $8000 for a new one. After 3 days I got the call from Vy, he told me that my car was done. I test drive it and it was like a new car. He said that he will guaranty his work for one years. 4 months later, my car broke down again (not because of the transmission. It was the worst icy night, everybody stuck in the road because the car could not run), and I stuck in the middle of the highway in a cold winter day. I called Vy for help and he came right up to pick me up. The next morning he tolled my car to his shop and fixed for $700 plus the toll, he told me that it was something wrong with the starter, he could not fix it so he sent my car to the dealer and have them fix it, and I only pay him what he pay to the dealer with no extra charge. 11 months since I know him. There was something wrong with my transmission again and I called Vy and asked about the guaranty. Vy kept his words. He tolled my car to his shop and fix the problem. I have my car back in 2 days with no charge. Conclusion: It have been 2 years and I am not visit his shop again because my car still in good shape. If you looking for fast service, affordable, quality, and honest quote, look don't look else where, it right here. Give Vy a call and problem solve! read more

I had a really good experience here a couple of years ago. I had extensive issues, and I know I got a good deal, because even my favorite auto shop thought so. I would have had my regular guys fix it but they would've had to order the parts, and I seriously couldn't wait. Mechanic Vin (I recall that's his name) fixed it quite well. (I don't know about the reviewer that accused this business' employees of stealing. I think it's rather crude to accuse someone of that, especially when there's a good chance you probably misplaced it. I just had to address that, because it had nothing to do with the services rendered.) Anyhow, the one time I went here I had a very good experience. read more

Called around for quotes on front brake replacement from a few different places. Trinh's was more than 30% lower than the next lowest quote. I took my car in late on a Thursday and it was ready almost right away on Friday morning. Very efficient service, and they also fixed an annoying weird rattling that had been going on at no additional cost. Hopefully I won't need car work done often, but when I do, I will be going to Trinh's. read more

My daughter needed new brakes and rotors for her 2010 Taurus. They were very professional and the price was better than I expected.

Free diagnostic and the best price in town. These guys are fast and good at what they do.

I have used many mechanics but just heard about Truyen at Trinh's. He is kind, knowledgeable and well priced. I would not bring my car to another mechanic. read more

Horrible service. Owner was extremely rude, charged us way extra for a 20 minute fix. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EVER!!! HORRIBLE

I've heard great things about Vi and his shop from a friend so when I needed to replace my brakes, rotors and rear sway bar link, I decided to take it there. Their service is top-notch. Vi and his mechanics repaired both my rear sway bar link as well as my brakes and rotors for a great price. Before they worked on the car, Vi gave me the cost upfront so there were no surprises. I also addressed a concern to Vi about a noise I had been hearing while driving and thought it might be the wheel bearing hub assembly going bad. Vi checked it out at no cost whereas Toyota wanted $150 just to check. He was able to diagnose the problem and saved me time and money in the process. Overall great quality service, honest and very fair prices. I will definitely be back when I need work done on my vehicles. If you are looking for a honest mechanic with quality service at a great price, this is the shop! read more

Great place and very reasonable. Vi, the present owner is fair and the crew are very good at what they do I my opinion. They replaced a cracked flywheel on my van and replaced the front struts and rear shocks all at a price much lower than others would have charged. I will definitely return to Trinh's for sure! read more

Took my Buick in as it didn't have heat. I was told that the intake manifold needed replacement. Estimate seemed fair and I had limited time. Problem was fixed, but six months later there was antifreeze leaking again. I took it to another shop and they said the manifold was warped and never replaced. Only the gaskets were. I had to spend another $500 to do all the work all over again and finally resolved the issue. I am very upset and should of known that this place was shady when I had no line item for tax on my invoice. They try to be helpful but the work isn't performed fully. I'll never take my vehicle there again. All I did was waste my money. Not recommended read more

Never taking our car there again! They changed the power steering lines and never plugged the alternator back in. Left my husband stranded, had to pay for a tow and diagnostic to find out they never plugged the alternator in when they were finiished! read more

First of all, these guys didn't even seem to want to work on my car. I wanted to give them a try, and right from the get go they seemed inconvenienced. They took a look at my car, called and said they needed to order a part and told me to come get my car right away. The guy kept repeating that - "come get your car now!" When I picked my car up, they said they'd call when the part came in, " but "take your car now!" Never heard from them again. If it wasn't the kind of work they wanted to do (??!!??) they could have just told me. I really didn't understand it at all. read more

I brought my car in today without an appt and they were able to get me in, no problem. They did my oil change and replaced an engine mount (which was found from a noise I reported) for a VERY REASONABLE price. They are awesome. They are nice and straight to the point. They also didn't charge me a diagnostic fee which is why I didn't bring my car in sooner to begin with. I didn't want to pay someone an arm and a leg for a car I don't plan on keeping much longer. I love this place! I will continue bringing my car here and any future cars! read more

I really like this auto shop! They always do great work, they don't overcharge, they're honest, and if they think using used parts instead of new would help keep the price down without effecting the integrity of the job, they let me know. I have recommended several friends to them already, and they told me they were also very pleased and would go back to! A shop that always has a full lot? - Well, that's a good sign to me! read more

I've been using Trinh's Auto since before the new owner, Vi, took over the business. Just as in the past, Vi and his team of mechanics consistently provides me and my three vehicles with quality repairs, always at honest prices. Vi takes the time to fix things the first time around. read more

Honest, quality work, and will always beat any competitor's price. Vi is wonderful.

My car was making a funny noise so I brought it to Trinh's. I talked directly to Vy, who was nice but a little difficult to understand. Everything seemed perfect at first: He was going to fix the problem and call me that afternoon to come get it. After picking it up, I realized that it was still making the exact same noise. I took it back, only to be told that he fixed the problem, and that this was a different noise, and wasn't a big deal. I got tired of arguing with him, so I left. The noise got worse within hours, so I was forced to bring it to another shop to get it fixed. read more

have to add another comment, I wanted him to change the pcv but he had the wrong locaton and told me I had the wrong part but I do have the correct part! His electrical test stated that my battery was bad but I had it tested elsewhere twice and its perfect so??? He is cheap and works fast but his communications in not the best,, I will still go there for certain things! read more

Seems very nice and honest but isn't honest after all. I noticed fumes and leaking right after I took a perfectly fine car to him for an oil change. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS MECHANIC!!!!!! read more
