The guy never notified me that they will charge beforehand: $75. When I got the bill, I was puzzled why the cost was more than I thought. Was not impressed with the run around I received about my whistling clutch. It's hard to be a woman who has a distant uncle who is a junkie mechanic, but still have to take your car in because you don't have the resources to service yourself, and then watch places like "Honest" want to give you the full flight path when in fact you know it could be limited to roughly 3 things. Sure they take photos of the engine, but unless you really know what you're looking at, it's not that impressive. Needless to say I didn't return because I kicked myself for knowing this would happen. Out $100 for an engine cleaning (which wasn't very clean, and i have done a better job myself in the past) and a bad clutch bearing continuing to whistle because it wasn't even addressed except for "well it still engages good." Took my car in at the end of Nov and they did a full diagnostic on my vehicle 2019 Chevrolet Traxx with 74,0000 miles they said that my engine was leaking oil and needed to be sealed car warranty approved this and we had to wait for parts to be order and ready and I brought my car back in on Nov 29th to be fixed they fixed the issue I picked my car back up on December 4th and the same day after paying over 3,000 dollars the engine light came back the next day we took it back to Honest One and they said that the oil got into they Cadillac converter and they had to wait for a replacement we drove the car away and two days later its was shaking mind you bringing the car into the shop on the 17th of November the car was fully functioning and drivable. We then brought my car back due to shaking and they said $400 to clean the converter and then later said they couldn't fix the issue after having my car for a week the car was not drivable after Honest one had it and had me tow my car at my expense to the Chevrolet dealership. We did a full diagnostic at Chevrolet and they said all the leaks and seals were not fixed and now my engine is completely ruined and needs to be replaced I was referred by a family friend and she took her car in a couple of weeks before me they did a full diagnostic and told her what was wrong with her car they fixed the issue and days later her engine light came on then when she brought it back they fixed something else they didn't see the first time and fixed that issue and now her engine light is on again. I have given Honest 1 close to 4,000 dollars and now My car is going to cost 11,000 dollars to fix and they are refusing to help or answer phone calls I haven't been able to drive my car for more than 3 days since it was brought in the shop after getting approval to fix the issue in December. read more

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. We brought our car into this shop to get fixed multiple times, and the techs performed services without getting the authority to, and they continued to blatantly miss obvious major issues. 75 miles after we'd just had it serviced with a full inspection, our power steering went out. It was a good thing my husband was driving that day because it went out on the highway with our daughter in the car. If I had been driving, we could have been KILLED. They performed services after stating parts on the car were in need of repair, but their notes of inspection conflicted with this. They claimed to have fixed our AC multiple times, but it never got fixed. It would work for maybe one day and then go back to pumping out heat. And then shortly after it was in again for service, the car shut down on the side of the road, leaving me AND my children STRANDED. It's a good thing we were able to get a ride, or we could have been stuck on a major road and in the cold with little kids in the car. There is no excuse for this many issues. They also say they sell a "Free complimentary roadside assistance" only to slap you with a $75 fee which then you have to go through the process of getting reimbursement which is a pain in the butt. And if we had known this in advance, we never would have used it because that is anything but honest. Beyond this, there is no excuse for such crappy customer service. My husband is an ARMY veteran and worked on TANKS in IRAQ. He worked in the auto industry for years prior to his changing careers to IT. And the owner gaslit him, said he was lying and that the techs would never have done what my husband claimed, but we literally have all the paperwork and the receipts. So, we are going to be filing with the BBB and pursuing a small claims court because we poured $3000 into this car from this shop alone with nothing to show for it. This is also our ONLY car and the only way we can get our kids to school. And now we have to shell out money for a rental or an uber. We have now had the car several times into this shop with a full inspection and all they stated was two main items to be repaired which we had them repair. Nothing else was needed for repair. And we drove it for a full oil change prior to taking it in with no problems. Nothing but issues since then. This is extremely shady and shows absolutely no honesty whatsoever. *Adding a note for unprofessional customer service and misconduct when an owner believes accusing an ARMY VETERAN, who served in IRAQ and worked on military tanks and humvees as well as years spent working in the auto industry, of lying. And if our car was repaired, then it would be running and it should not require several visits to an auto shop in such a short a time. Not once have we demanded everything for free, and we have spent $3000 on this vehicle alone in such a brief time, and the original concerns were ignored and not remedied. Combined with other reviews, which show the same type of behavior, and a 2.5 * rating overall on a corporate level, it's obvious there is misconduct going on. I am a professionally trained psychological advocate and listened to the conversation. Gaslighting to shift the blame to the customer is not professional. And since we have the receipts and all the notes/inspections that contradict each other, as well as a third-party mechanic who has inspected it and showed it was not repaired well, we will be pursuing more options. There is also no excuse for endangering CHILDREN by the "convenience" of a failure that led to power steering issues and the coolant leaking. read more

Have been a customer of theirs for almost two years. I am of the opinion that they are more interested in having their mechanics earn money then they are with the welfare of their customers even given the fact that they always talk about discounts. For example number 1. Changing transmission fluid and antifreeze was $100 cheaper elsewhere. Example number two. They allowed me to drive with a tire they couldn't balance in the front for a full year of pulling the steering wheel to the right. I had them rotated to the back and solved the issue. Example 3. Engine light came on fixed the issue for several hundred dollars. Drove out the engine light still on brought it back later for something else several hundred dollars. Drove it out engine light comes on again coincidence? I made an appointment online for my car to be serviced at 8am. I arrived a bit early (7:30ish) and took a seat in the comfortable waiting area. My brakes were getting looked at and the gentleman brought me back into the shop area and showed me exactly what was wrong and his recommendations. I didn't feel pressured or judged and appreciated the time he took with me to explain what was wrong. He gave me a time frame of about an hour to fix my brakes. Needless to say, after about an hour and forty five minutes of waiting I asked if we were almost done. He told me they were sent the wrong part and it shouldn't be too much longer and they were in the home stretch and gave what I received as a very half hearted apology. I understand things can happen but I felt very frustrated that I was not kept up on the time it was taking and had it been explained proactively they had the wrong part and would cause a delay I would have been able to rearrange my schedule and adjust my expectations. I am not dissatisfied with the service I received but I am dissatisfied by the customer service. I did not feel like a valued customer when I left and am unsure I will return for future service. read more

I went to honest 1 and was attracted to the auto shop by its name, "honest". However this place is far from honest, believe me! I went into the shop to have a routine transmission fluid flush and they said that my transmission needed to be replaced, stating that there was metal in the transmission fluid. Upon further review my transmission was completely fine. I had just gotten new back tires on my car and so they were making noise and I think these people thought it was the transmission. My car is running great and I didn't need to shell out $3500 for a new transmission. Stay away from this place!! read more

This is the worst shop in the twin cities. I went for a regular oil change and they changed me 60 bucks. They never told me it was going to be that much. That part doesn't bother me but after I got my oil change I noticed that they couldn't even change my oil filter. They don't care about your car and who knows what kind of oil they put in there. All they care about is getting as much money from you as they can. The only reason I went here is because before it was fusion auto and they actually changed my oil filter and gave me full synthetic oil for a reasonable price. I had a few quotes from them for other repairs and they are by far more expensive than any other shop in the entire twin cities. Plz do not go here plz. Plz help put these guys out of business. Don't let the nice waiting room and the nice shop fool you they are too cheap to change an oil filter for 60 bucks. We were visiting from out of town and our car suddenly stopped accelerating above 15 mph. Honest-1 was able to get our car in at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon and diagnose it the same day. Repairs were then completed by 9:30 Monday morning for a very reasonable price. They were even able to supply us with a loaner car, which was great so we were still able to get around on Sunday without the stress of having to get a rental. I had a coupon for an oil change, so thought I would use it. First time customer and whether I have a coupon or not, they have a customer for as long as I live in Eagan. They were very friendly and the service was excellent. They showed me how bad my filters were instead of just telling me I needed my filters changed. They gave me an estimate on a couple other potential issues. They brought me in the garage with my car up and showed me what was wrong. I've never had that done before. After all said and done, I got a free car wash to use at a local gas station, my car was parked right outside the door for me to get in to and when I got in my car I had a flower and a free bag of pretzels. My friend and car mechanic recommended alignment after repairs that included tire rod replacement. I dropped off car at Honest-1 for that and an oil change. I came back to pick up car and they stated could not perform alignment because my car needed new tire rods. They took a second look after I explained repairs already done. They decided I did not need new pieces anymore but they needed to be taken out, greased and reinstalled. (My friend had gone out of town). I agreed and left my car for repair. Still not driving well...(For $85) I took my car to dealership to look over car for repairs needed. One thing this report stated was steering rack boot torn on right side -estimate $636. Fooled by the name and the 85 5 star reviews they post on their site. I made an appointment the night before for 7am the next morning. I arrived there and said that I was there for my 7am appointment and was told that I did not have an appointment. I should have walked out right there. I told him my breaks were grinding. I was asked which ones, which I told him that I did not know . I was told to have a seat, I would have to wait because there were other people waiting before me. Finally I was brought to the mechanic and was shown the problem, all the while the assistant Manager criticized my car, telling me it had a whole list of problems, he interrupted the mechanic and was rude to him also. I was brought back in to the register and was told it would cost 1000.00 for both breaks. I told him I don't have 1000.00 for both breaks , but could probably get one done that day as I could come up with 500.00 and at least I could get the grinding to stop. I was asked which ones I wanted to do, I said I guess we could start with the front. The Manager gave the work order to the mechanic , the mechanic brought it back in and questioned it. The manager told him I was informed and that was what I went with. I did not choose to be unsafe, I just couldn't afford both at that price. After 3 1/2 hours I was told my car was ready. I drove out of the lot, and the grinding was worse!?! I just sat there for 3 1/2 hours and paid 500.00 and I still had the problem? Turns out the back breaks were grinding and were not fixed while the front brakes were replaced with the top of the line ceramic brakes? My car is a 2005 Chev Impala with 200,000 miles on it. I would have never picked the top of the line breaks but I was not given an option. They let me go in an unsafe manner knowing that my back brakes were metal on metal while I had the top of the line breaks in the front. I felt taken advantage of, unappreciated, and treated like a second class citizen. I got used to being treated like a queen at Apple Valley Ford, compared to here, like a piece of crap.
