I write this negative review with a heavy heart. The former owner was my go to, so when he sold it to the new owner. I of course continued to go there. Too be fair the new owner worked with me when car repairs ran over budget and kept me on the road. I also used Snap various times to keep my car repaired. The problem lies in having to fix the same thing's multiple times. 3 radiators, 2 water pumps , 2 alternators, 4 different coolant reserves for starts. It's just ridiculous too have to pay for repairs to the same component over and over. So yes while he worked with me (new owner) it also cost me I. The end. Always an excuse of why the warranty didn't cover it. I have to agree with the poster below. Mike was wonderful and fair. The service I received from roger does not compare at all. I hate even giving them one star. Had then engine light diagnostic .. had a coupon for a free engine check.. told I could not use it.. Got the estimate and was told I would be getting a $30.00 off coupon applied.. The cost was higher for the part .. they had me planned to come one day and it @supposedly " the wrong part .. had to come back... No comment on the increased part and only $10.00 off. I wrote and told them about how I did not appreciate that.... No return response. New management.. Mike where did you go.. I would take the extra trip to have your type of service. Do not bring your vehicle to Fridley Minonoco. The previous owner, Mike Shofner, was an exceptional mechanic and business owner. The new owner, Roger, is not. I have been brining my vehicle to Fridley Minnoco for several years, and have always had exceptional service and honesty. That all went away when Mike sold the shop to Roger. I had an enormous amount of work done on my car last summer and fall. I had to bring my vehicle in twice for repairs. I explicitly told Roger to fix the suspension and ABS... he did all sorts of stuff except the suspension and ABS. He likewise suggested a lot of work that wasn't necessary. I suspected that he fabricated some issues on my vehicle like the ABS speed sensor -he made up some story about how a rock must have disabled the sensor. Fast forward 6 months, and a number of components Roger worked on are now failing, out of alignment, not installed properly, etc. I have brought my vehicle to two separate mechanics and both said whoever did the work is a clown/fraud. I have texted Roger about the issues, and left messages on his voicemail, but he has apparently blocked my number now. I also can't get through to the shop -maybe it has closed? If so, be thankful. If Roger/Minnoco don't get back to me soon, I am going to make the 60 minute drive to have a face to face conversation about being reimbursed for a number of the parts (alternator isn't even the right model, and one of the bolts completely backed out) and labor; my car is no longer safe to drive. If that goes nowhere, I am filing complaints with the BBB and Minnesota Department of Commerce. I am likewise considering a Small Claims lawsuit, as I have the evidence (2 independent mechanic reports) to back-up I was swindled. read more

I found these guys on Groupon over a year ago - I have gone back for EVERYTHING that my vehicle has needed. They are extremely well priced and the staff is phenomenal. They have wifi if you need to wait for your vehicle, you can work or watch movies. Other than the prices being great, I go back mainly because of the staff. I have worked closely with the technician, Ryan, each time I go in and he truly makes your experience worth while. This team is so trust worthy. I would recommend it over any other place I have been. I went into the minnoco, told them what was wrong, the car sat fro 35 minutes while the mechanic looked up prices and gave me a quote, I noticed the time, the mechanic started on the car and worked for 20 minutes and then stopped because he was waiting for delivery of a part since they did not have it, he read his phone, ate, smoked and walked around, turns out all this wait time the customer gets billed for it! I disagreed with the owner about it, he informed me I knew nothing or what I was talking about and was nasty about it, when I informed him, really you don't think I watched the clock or through the window and know exactly how much time was spent working on the car, and I was billed for the entire time!
