We had pest control with another company for about two years, but have come to be disappointed with their service. I looked up Home Shield on Yelp and liked the reviews I read. I reached out and was promptly replied to with a thorough explanation of pricing and services offered. Home Shield was really responsive, professional and thoughtful from the first interaction. AJ sold me on the product and helped me understand all my options signing up. Then got me scheduled really quickly for my first treatment. Carl came out to apply the treatment and was fantastic. He called in advance to let me know he could arrive early which worked out way better for my schedule. When he arrived he was really friendly, respectful and thoughtful as he walked the property and identified any issues we might have. I have to say I was extremely skeptical given the number of ants I've had to deal with over the years. I honestly couldn't see how anyone could eradicate them easily, as there appeared to be nests on my property as well as my neighbors' properties. But I'm ecstatically surprised to see so far no more ants! This company is also definitely very responsive and busy, as we couldn't schedule the treatment until 6 days later (although to be fair I called during the 4th of July weekend). Carlos showed up within the expected timeframe, explained what he was going to do, was very polite and friendly, and also enthusiastically assured me I wouldn't be seeing any more ants! No more smashing ants on the counter, spraying them with minty sprays, vacuuming them up, or trying to block them at every possible entry!!! I can actually relax when I walk around my house, no longer having to inspect for ants. We have had HomeShield quarterly maintenance for a few years now and have been very impressed with the service. I would say the benchmark for a successful pest control company is: do they keep the pests away and are they good to deal with? We started when our neighbors started (jokingly) accusing us of running a neighborhood rat sanctuary. HomeShield got it under control. The service agents have always been prompt and professional; every one of them has had a positive if not jovial spirit. We have asked for help eradicating ants and other pests as well, and they have been helpful every time. We are content, and we are friends with our neighbors again. read more

The office staff and technician were prompt and professional. Their price was reasonable...I had received a quote from another company that was more than twice as much. The technician went through all the items that needed to be fixed to avoid rodents entering home and even brought an odor remover to fix the smell of the dead rodent who had entered the house. We've had a subscription to HomeShield's ongoing service for about a year and we're very happy with it. Technicians come every other month and also as needed in between for no additional charge. Unlike a couple of others, they tried really hard to help us save the plants near our house by working around them. They were not as expensive as other top rated companies either. I just started using Home Shield for inside protection which came with a free termite inspection. Of course there was evidence all over the property of termites.... it's a constant problem for California properties. Trinidad, came out within a week promptly and spent over 8 hours everywhere there was termite evidence. Friendly and honest staff! The technician was so professional, personable and knew his stuff. I had a problem with roaches in my apartment complex common areas and after HomeShield came through and sprayed I haven't seen any kind of bug in months, let alone roaches. I like that they explained the work that needed to be done and WHY, and love that they use all organic products...the solution doesn't affect pets or people so I didn't have to leave when they came to spray. I would really recommend HomeShield. We had been trapping and rehoming mice that somehow kept on getting back into the house, and then one day we came home to a swarm of termites entering through a hole near a window. We knew we needed professional help. This was during the midst of the pandemic. The HomeShield guy first came out to assess what we needed, and he pointed out that most of the mesh covering the vents for beneath the house were broken. HomeShield ended up replacing all the broken mesh covers and spraying for ground termites, as well as sealing the hole near the window. We've had no trouble with pests since! Both the assessor and the worker were polite, masked, informative, thorough, paid a lot of attention to detail, and seemed honest--they told us if we didn't need something. I'm just really glad that the mice can't get in now. It's so unnerving to see that little shadow darting around the house. Thanks, HomeShield! read more
