We recently had an issue with water bugs in our new home, and thanks to the technician Andrew at Pest Free, we can finally sleep peacefully at night. We noticed what we thought were roaches coming out from under the cabinets in the kitchen. WARNING! FAKE BUSINESS. FRAUDULENTLY USING INACTIVE, CSLB CONTRACTOR NUMBER BELONGING TO SOMEONE ELSE, FAKE BUSINESS ADDRESS - USING AN URGENT CARE AS THEIR BUSINESS ADDRESS. POSSIBLE ROBBERY/HOME BREAK IN SCAM! Requested estimate for rodents in shed and to check attic for possible rodents only. I sent the technician, Andrew to our attic to check for rodents, he came down and said our ductwork was broken and showed a very far away picture of this damage. Our heater worked perfectly when used last in May, and no one has been in or worked in our attic for over 5 years, it is totally empty except for our ductwork and insulation and not used for any storage. Close up photos and several licensed contractors have now verified that our ductwork has indeed been purposely stepped on and crushed. Please see the photos and decide for yourself. I have provided our close up photos of the damage with this review, along with the one the technician and office provided to us so that you can see for yourself. The technician briefly showed me a far away photo of the supposedly damaged duct while he was in my home. However, this damage was not mentioned in any of the written estimates and the photo he showed was not included with them either. I had to write the office and ask that the send the pic, and then again write and ask that they include the picture with the written estimate. After the technician Andrew was finished doing the inspection, he took his ladder and small toolbag to his truck and a verbal estimate was given to me on the front porch. He said goodbye and left and I closed the front door. We then saw on our security cameras, instead of leaving, the technician Andrew immediately slipped back into our backyard thru the still open gate rather than return to his truck. He began rapidly walking along the back of our home, holding his phone up and recording all along the length of our home, the windows - NOT the roof or ground, he was clearly holding his phone up and taking video of all the windows and our visible eye level cameras. When he had taken video along the full length of the back of the house, He then stopped and stood at the corner of the house, just behind a more obvious security camera and video recorded our glass sliding door, fuse box and other details - he then rapidly walked back out along the back of the house and out of the gate while continuing to record the windows at eye level, while he did so. He then went out of the gate, closed it, got into his truck and left. The company later emailed us an almost 7,000.00 estimate and and another, "less expensive" estimate for almost 5000.00 to simply replace ductwork!!! These 2 estimates did NOT include the "asbestos removal" and the rodent control was listed on both estimates for 0.00 (free). Andrew stated he "had a guy that would do the asbestos removal cheap for 995.00" while he was on my porch. He obviously assumed that an older woman lived alone because that who was home to let him in for the inspection - I let him assume this because from the start of the inspection because something seemed wrong - his bright and totally clean white jumpsuit seemed more like a costume than an actual protective work suit. He was also wearing a filthy respirator that was not an appropriate respirator for the job. This is a typical scam to come back and rob houses - alert authorities if this company has been to your home to do work, give estimates or do an inspection! We have reported this incident to local law enforcement, providing the videos & documentation. Other authorities have been notified as well. This scam business is likely a front for a later robbery or other criminal activities beyond their fraudulent use of an inactive contractor's license and purposely damaging customers property to try to gain work. Google the address they have posted here to see for yourself that it is an urgent care building at 100 Oceangate, Long Beach. I have also provided a photo of this from Google maps. After gathering evidence and reporting to appropriate authorities we sent technician Andrew a text and emailed the company as Andrew has continued to try and contact us by phone since the "inspection" asking that they do not return or contact us further. Terrible experience, by having this company out to inspect attic for possible rodents, we now have hundreds of dollars of duct damage to repair & who knows what else these criminals might try to do. Please use the info I posted in pics & go to CSLB.gov site to see the inactive, unable to contract, uninsured, 0 employee status of their license. A company with 1000s of customers as owner states in reply would list their license # on their website & Yelp page, written estimate and emails - rather than make customers request it after being given a 7000.00 quote. They aren't listed/searchable anywhere on the internet other than a page made with free website generator wix that doesn't list the license # they provided. read more
