I was out of town and paid paid $603. dollars for sealing the property and exterminating the rodents. My tenants kept complaining about the rodent problem. I called Leonardo's and they came out to change a trap. The complaints kept coming in so I went to check on the home. I could not believe what I saw. Leonardo's literally blocked 1 percent of the openings with wire. They left the 99 % of the openings untouched. They did not do any of the work they were required to do. Avoid this business. I was a loyal customer for a few years with a monthly service. We had a serious ant problem and while they did take care of it, it turned out their service is awful. First, the owner admitted his stepson had basically ripped off a bunch of customers by claiming he showed up and performed service and never did. So ok, the owner attempted to make up for it by comping a free month. Were they able to overcome this serious defect? No. Next they started sending out different technicians. It was tiresome to see different faces every few months. They could not keep people employed. It is a problem when you have different people going through your home and yard. Unsafe. There was a problem with the owner's wife double billing us. They charged extra for credit card payments. We started sending checks to cover our invoices but they still billed our credit card. We had to bring it to their attention to stop billing our credit card. They did it for months. Very sloppy. Finally, turns out their prices are way too high. After finally getting fed up, I called around to different companies and found one for more than half the price. Ridiculous. Owner tried to cut price to match but couldn't even come close. Which only went to show they knew they are overcharging customers all along. Pest control isn't rocket science. Find a reputable company with longtime employees and good customer ratings. A little back ground on this company. Father started the company; he used to work for Orkin and decided he can go off on his own. YAY! Congrats! (Total fan of small business) The problem becomes when you are too cocky for your own good. Father hires son. Again, father worked at Orkin, not son. The son told me that rats do not make squeaking sounds. Okay, well then that must be a monkey in the walls or under the floor? The son was really cocky and spouted off at the mouth SEVERAL times about how he is a professional and did not care to listen to what we had to say. He throws a bunch of blue poison bars around various places, warns me that if my dog takes a bite, he is dead. He recommended that all of these repairs be done, but that they do not do them. And his final comment was, "it'll take 3 weeks for them to died, you'll smell the dead rats decomposing for a few days" and "once I do a job, I NEVER get called back." Guess what....the rats(or monkeys) are back! He was called back and he is doing nothing!! Bottom line is, don't waste your money with them unless you are doing it for pure entertainment. My wife and I both agreed that Leonardo deserved 4 stars. The main thing is that he got rid of our infestation, and the price seemed fair. Why 4 stars? Here's the scoop.... Pros - He came on time, with most of the things he needed to do the job - He spent a lot of time educating us on how to prevent future pest problems. Nice. - As I mentioned, the price seemed fair. Cons - He told us to get a bunch of garbage bags to throw out infested food. Fair enough, but what if we didn't have a bunch on hand? Shouldn't he be bringing the bags? - About half way through the job, he told my wife, "Help me move all this stuff -- I have another job to go to." Really? I kind of thought that's why we were paying him. But hey, I'm new to the world of extermination. - At the end, he tried to charge me more than we'd agreed on, even though we'd already texted each other the agreed upon price before he came over. If you're concerned about my "cons", then bring them up when you talk to him on the phone to avoid unpleasant surprises. Bottom line: good job, good price, good guy. They do a bate system inside so it's a relief since I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. CONS: -You have to wait for a technician to call back b/c phone operator doesn't know any pricing information - Price is much higher than 2 other companies I called (Family Pest Control $145, and L.A. Bug & Pests Control for $155) -Takes 4-6 days for ants to be gone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The owner (Leonardo) is RUDE RUDE RUDE. He relies on his technicians to do the job, he doesn't personally come in to see how the job is done but when you talk to him on the phone, he makes it sound like he KNOWS everything. We get technicians calling us to schedule when we have already scheduled with another one. It is so confusing how we always get different ones. Also, I don't know how they keep their invoices but they will charge you even though you are already paid up. He will then tell you to send them a copy of the bill that you received from them. And when you try to explain your point, he actually raises his voice! I told him I will talk to my boss because we need to find another company that will treat us better. An hour later, he called me back saying "you said you are going to call back but you didn't call me back!" I was like WTF?!? I said I have to call my boss first and then informed him we are not going to need his services anymore because he is rude and he interrupted my by raising his voice again and telling me he is not rude. Really?! I had no choice but to hang up because I do not have time to argue with him. The last tech (Francisco) is a really nice guy. But what he says and what Leonardo says are always conflicting. So unless you want constant confusion about your bills, constant need for a follow up on your maintenance and a constant need to argue with someone over the phone, then this is the company for you. read more

Okay, so I didn't have them get rid of anything for me, so can't speak to their effectiveness when it comes to getting rid of critters. But from the interaction I did have with them, they were truly professional, seemed to know what they were doing, and I would have no issue hiring them the next time something comes up (knock on wood it doesn't though). So I called last week because we seemed to have a creature nesting under the front walkway of our home. Mind you I called three other companies as well, but Wilian was the only one who would come that day and not try to charge me for it. Two of the other companies, which tout free estimates, wanted to charge me between $50-$150 just to come out (apparently free estimates only work over the phone?) The other couldn't come out for two more days. So like a true professional, Wilian said he would try to get to my place that day, if he couldn't, he'd call me and set up a time for the next day. Now I've dealt with my share of contractors, subcontractors, so on and so on. The chances that they'll do what they actually say is about 10% of the time if you're lucky. But to my surprise, Wilian called later that day as he was on his way over. I was greeted by a professional, nice young man who surveyed the damage, and said quite honestly that he could trap the critter that was nesting under my home, but it wouldn't be worth the cost and wouldn't really solve my problem. He said I was better off going to Home Depot and filling up the hole with as much concrete as I could get. He also stuck around and answered my questions about a few other things related to wildlife around our home. He didn't rush me, and didn't seem too interested in making easy money (unlike the other companies), but more interested in actually helping me. He also was completely aware and compliant with the city's rule as to how pest and critters are to be treated and taken care of. Five stars for their honesty and professionalism. We had a RANK smell coming from under the house and needed someone right away. There was definitely something dead underneath our floorboards... I looked on Yelp and saw that Leonardo's Pest Control had a 5 star review and I now know why. They are the best! It was a Sunday afternoon and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get anyone out until Monday, but as soon as I called Leonardo's Pest Control I knew I would be taken care of. Soon after calling William and Wilson showed up and got right to work. They were very nice, funny and super helpful. I have an older style house so the crawl spaces were very small, but Wilson was determined to get in there. And he did! I was amazed by the way Leonardo does buisness. I had a rodent problem that was driving me crazy.I had a different Pest Contol company kill the rats but they came back. Leonardo was able to sent a Specialist who adviced me about rodent proofing. Basicly the rats were coming back through holes in the house. My wife and I have had our house serviced monthly by Leonardo's for over a year now. Since they have been coming on a regular basis we have had little to no pest problems. The technicians usually message us before they come so that we can make sure I am home and can keep my dogs out of their way. One time we noticed a black widow and brown widow in the house, so they came out and sprayed for them free of charge (because they had already come that month). We haven't had issues with brown/black widows since. Recently, we had a fly infestation for no known reason. We tried our best to kill the flies on our own but it was getting a little much. My wife called Leonardo's and the owner came out a few hours later. We couldn't find a source for the flies. He went up into the attic and inspected the whole house to look for the cause. There was no source that he could pinpoint so he ended up spraying the area of the infestation (our kitchen). We were nervous that the specialty fly spray would just kill flies and not address the root of the problem, but he was right, a few days later (and dozens of dead flies), we didn't have a fly problem! We will never know why they were in our kitchen, but we haven't seen a fly since (over a week later). The spray stays on the walls so that any future fly will eat the chemical and die. My roommate set the time for someone to come by between 9-10am on Monday. I waited for an hour, and *I* had to call them and ask them where they were. They said no one had us on the books and that someone would there at the house at 6pm. Seriously? It doesn't help that their motto is "we do what we promise" no instructions were given to us, like- vacuum the day after, and water the grass. Daniel told me when I showed up, and I told him to tell Wilson, the lead technician, to improve on communication. They are quite pricey as well. Daniel was a good technician though.
