Definitely not what I was expecting from a family-owned business. I spoke to sales over the phone about what I was looking for. He explained that everything was non toxic, convinced me to do the monthly plan for $47 per month with an initial for $150. I agreed, and we settled on a window between 1 - 5 PM, and he immediately emailed me a contract to sign, entering my banking info, etc. Day of service arrives and I call the office to see if I can get a closer window of time. The woman I spoke to informed me that the tech would be stopping by between 3 and 3:30 PM. 4:30 rolls around and still have not heard anything so I called the office again and was transferred directly to the technician who says that he is running very behind, and will not be there, probably until 6 PM. When I expressed frustration that I had waited all afternoon, he apologized and explained that traffic is very bad in LA and it's difficult and how long certain jobs will take. I understand things run over and there is traffic, however, it is common courtesy to contact the customer and let them know that you are running late. Had I never called the office I would've waited there until nearly 6 PM until someone showed up. What also annoyed me during our call, he said that he could still come at 6 PM and do the outside. I explained that I had requested both internal and external, but he proceeded to explain why an internal treatment is not necessary for spiders. He also told me he could not spray the inside, because the children and dog would be there, even though the sales person I spoke to told me that everything was non-toxic, and never mentioned anything about us needing to leave the house or that it would only be internal. I specifically requested both. I canceled the service, and immediately called the office again, and asked to speak to a manager. I was transferred to a man who was very apologetic, but did really not offer anything to make the situation right. I requested that he send me a cancellation confirmation over email to show that the contract was voided since my banking information was on there, He assured me he would send end of day. It is now almost 48 hours later, and I still have not received it . I've tried contacting the sales person a few times, but no response. Once they get the sale, they want nothing to do with you. I wasted an entire afternoon at home for this when I could have been at work. read more

I have been using this company for 4+ years for regular pest maintenance. I recently wrote them an email because my yard has become overrun by pests. I reviewed the last several notes from service people and no one mentioned cleaning up surrounding shrubs or spraying my lawn for flys. Items I specifically requested. I am going to find another company and do not recommend home shield as they have been neglecting their work and now won't even respond to inquiries after years of loyalty. Look elsewhere! read more

I am really amazing at how responsive this company is. I called them the other day about having some pests that I didn't know what it was. At first it was going to take a few days to come but I told them about how much it was disturbing me and they told me they could work out their schedule to come the next day. The technician that showed up came with a mask and shoe covers and he was very detailed when he looked through my house to try to figure out what but we had. Turned out it was bird mites. He sprayed around our house and windows. And got into all different crevices. read more

I've been calling around in search for a pest / bug/wasp control problem. What got my attention and separated this company form others I've called was their use of green "clean" eco products that are safe for families, kids, and pets. As I've gotten older i understand the importance of limiting exposure to health detrimental and cancer causing products. This company is based out of Long Beach and serves the surrounding LA/LC areas. I have not booked them yet but I spoke with Tom and he gave me a very thorough phone explanation of their treatment process and the pricing. They also have a call In special for about $150 for the first initial treatment and then $100 every 2 month follow up treatment by contract for one year. So over time you're looking at $750 maybe which is a fairly priced rate. If you cancel before the year there is a penalty of the initial treatment price. What is also fair about their pricing is that they treat BOTH indoor and outside your house and they remove wasp nets and other possible problematic pest items. As for treatment it seems like no more than an hour and you have to make sure the treatment is dry before touching or exposing yourself to the area. Once I book my first treatment I'll provide an update on this review. I definitely appreciate the time Tom took to consult and explain everything. Give them a ring! read more

This Company actually sprays for ants, fleas, spiders, mites, and lots more...all the the same price. The person who came the first time spent over an hour looking for spiders, wasp nests, and other insect nests...and then talked me through exactly what he was going to do.
