We have had issues with mice since we moved into our apartment in January, we are still working on getting the problem solved, but Kilter has helped us a majority of this time. They sent a technician out the first time that provided work where quality was left to be desired.. but then they sent a professional. Robert was our second technician but made sure to represent the company with professionalism. He provided top quality work and has been very informative and friendly every time they send him. When I asked to see photos of the subterranean termites the inspector said he didn't have any photos. Plus he damaged a few of my window sills with the metal proper checking for Termites. read more

We received an inspection from Mike, he told my wife he was going to walk around and complete his inspection. My wife heard lots of banging and noticed through the window that he was poking around the house with a pole. Come to find out he smashed up parts of our house that had some termite damage, along with scratching the paint and denting areas where there was no termite damage. While I understand, the word is brittle from termites in the area areas where there is, I do not understand why you need to continue to smash into it and create 6 to 8 inch holes as opposed to hitting it once or twice and realizing there is some problems... I have made calls in Kilter's office regarding our findings of Mike's inspection with no response. Since kilter has come to our house, I have received two additional estimates from other contractors who both commented about how someone "beat the hell out of our house." I will gladly pay more to use someone else, do yourself a favor and avoid this company. They were higher priced than the other bids I received and beat up my house... read more

I signed a 2-year Kilter Termite and Pest Control contract Agreement on 7/23/2020. My wife and I are became very dissatisfied and not comfortable with continuing this contract and wanted to discontinue this agreement within 27 days of signing. Kilter management did not budge about cancelling and was irresponsible in complying with our request to cancel. For the following reasons we do not wish to continue ever doing business with Kilter ever again: 1) Initial Inspection occurred 1.5 hours after the end of the time window was scheduled and finally occurred ~5:30 PM during our dinner time. 2) Termite treatment appeared too short in duration and superficial for the work required to be performed. 3) During treatment, the technician did not consult me on proper garage access, attempted to open a locked storage area door adjacent to the garage and broke off the door handle, which caused difficulty gaining access to the storage area until the door handle was finally replaced after three weeks by Kilter. 4) A follow-up inspection on additionally discovered termite droppings was requested. This inspection was to occur in the afternoon. The inspector called in the morning and debated with me whether he or a treatment technician should come. I asked for an inspection and the inspector kept asking me if he should be the one to come. I said that I was not his supervisor and he should get work direction from his supervisor. I should not have been put in this awkward position by being asked by the inspector if he should come or not! For these and reasons when we had Kilter in past years, I wished to terminate our contract. I do find it to be reasonable to pay some fee for the initial inspection and treatment. Kilter did not agree with me and I believe acted irresponsibly and not in good faith with a renewed customer. I only wanted to obtain some of the 2-year contract money back that has already been paid. However, Kilter absolutely did not want to listen to this customer's valid complaints and apparently does not wish to establish good customer relations. DO NOT USE KILTER!! read more

I switched service from other pest control problems and Kilter by far supersedes excellent customer service in every way. Communication, follow up and continued visits to make sure we are pest free. Kilter called me a few weeks ago to see if I was interested in a home inspection. I said yes and we scheduled an appointment for today, 2/16 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. It's 4:45 and no one has shown up or called. I guess they're too busy for my business. Update - 5:00pm same day. You've gotta love social media! I just got a call from the manager. Reasonable explanation and a new appointment which fits my schedule. I'll keep you posted. Update - 2/19/18 . The technician called at the beginning of the two hour appointment window to let me know he was 30 minutes away. He arrived when expected. Of course, I live in California, so my house has termites. The nice surprise is that the cost of treatment is covered under the warranty from the last treatment almost two years ago. Good service recovery. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. We paid this company thousands of dollars to take care of a termite problem. They came out the first time and the guy totally missed treating areas where there was obvious termite damage/droppings. They had to come back out a month later because the termites came back. Of course, they didn't fix the problem the second time around. Now they are basically refusing to come out, all while our place is getting littered with termite droppings. Most recently, we booked them to come out on their earliest appointment, which was a month out from when we called. After waiting a month, their technician missed his appointment with us. Now, the company is making us wait ANOTHER MONTH for the next available appointment, even though it was their technician who missed the appointment. They do not care that our place still has termites and we have droppings everywhere. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They won't get rid of your problem and once they have your money, good luck getting them to do their job. read more

My previous pest control company closed down. Well good for them because they were a dishonest bunch. They didn't finish my termite treatment and I had to call them every time just to remind them of our agreement. Still feeling unsecured, I called Kilter because they offered specialization in termite control. So a representative came out and we talked about my previous experience and the current situation of our home. He was sympathetic with my experience and assured me that Kilter operates differently. He offered to inspect our house for free and explained to me that it only needs a couple more of treatments to fully termite proof our home. I decided to go with it and found that the company never failed to arrive during scheduled treatments. Best of all, they always send nice guys when doing the treatments. As one of the top producing real estate broker in Laguna Niguel I have used all of the termite companies over the years. Kilter is the best of the best. First, they are honest. If there are no termites they are happy to tell me. Second, they only tent when needed. Tenting is a bit of a scam in many cases as it is a great profit item for many companies yet tenting is damaging to the home, the roof, the plants around the home and very inconvenient for the principles. And finally, they are fairly priced. Don't waste your time with any other companies. read more

I was pleased that the house did not need tenting and could be treated w/ spraying. I own a condo in West Los Angeles. The condo is a 16 unit building. On two separate occasions, January 2015 and again, today, September 28, 2015 Kilter Termite did not show up for a scheduled inspection. Each of the owners in the building had to be home or make accommodations to have their condo inspected. In neither case did Kilter inform the property management company that no one would be out for the inspection. It was only after the property management company contacted them did we find out no one was coming out. I strongly urge anyone who is looking for a termite inspection to avoid this company. They have HORRIBLE customer service, obviously. read more
